Can we please stop this bitterness and negativity. I have followed this club from afar in Australia for over 3 decades. I was born blue, even though my father is red I am still blue, he couldn't get it out of me. I only started looking at these forums about 12 months ago and I regret it. All the negativity just beats you down. True, I could just not look at it anymore, but unfortunately it is the only way that I feel that I can connect with other Evertonians.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed (and guilty as charged). Time to pull together a direct our fury at the Gunners.

I pledge positivity henceforth.

It would be great if the red rubbish had no reason to call us bitter blues anymore

{Ed001's Note - stop being so bitter as to use the sh*** word then! That is inherently bitter and foul. No one on the Liverpool site is allowed to call Everton the blueshhhh, yet you are all so pathetic that not one of you can show any respect to Liverpool. Until the moment you grow up and start showing others respect, you will be treated with complete disrespect yourselves.}

Woh there I know plenty and I mean plenty of reds that call us blue shhhhh and worse. And we do the same. That's not bitter it's banter take that away from football and what's the point!

{Ed001's Note - how is it banter? It is being nasty, that is not banter. The point is you can have banter without being offensive and bitter.}

Ed01, with respect, I think you have gone a bit over the top in that reply. After all, this is a banter site for banter! You can't honestly tell us any LFC fans have not called any EFC fans bitter or blueshhhh (as you put it) can you? They slate us, they slate Man U and they slate Chelsea fans just as much as they receive stick. To call us all pathetic is also a slight on yourself as well as your clubs fans. Rightly or wrongly, this is what fans at every club do, especially with derby teams. Football, in general, is bitter and foul these days. I blame Murdoch and Sky tv.
I know reds who respect Everton, I know blues who respect Liverpool. I also know people on both sides that have total disdain for the other. BOTH sides. I just don't see where this attack has come from, please can you explain? I mean, if bluemanno had been ripping LFC and it's staff/fans to pieces for no apparent reason then you would have a point. The two terms he posted are commonly used by both sets of supporters on a daily basis. I really wouldn't get too upset over it! But, contrary to what LFC fans think of us blues, we are civil people. Most would accept your apology for branding them 'pathetic', 'disrespectful' and that they need to grow up. Remember, however, that people who feel an injustice when childish name calling has arisen, probably wouldn't win an argument by resorting to juvenile retorts themselves :) Have a nice day

{Ed001's Note - sorry but if you have to sit and read through the vile posts being called a shhhh every time you are trying to help out, you would soon get annoyed. I don't allow the Liverpool fans to refer to Everton by those terms, yet you to a man on here, think it is ok to refer to Liverpool with a term that was strongly objected to by Everton fans when it did slip through. If you think it is ok, then you are not the kind of person I want on these sites and you can feel welcome to go elsewhere. You are not sat at home talking to your friends and family, you are in a public place and should act like it. If you were sat in the middle of 100 strangers and you started referring to some of them as shhhhh do you think that would be ok? No, so why do you think it is ok to do so here? If you don't like it go to one of those sites that think it is ok to post abuse, and call it banter. Now do not say you are speaking with respect only to follow it with the most disrespectful, patronising post following it. Try showing respect and you will receive it, but right now you have earnt nothing but disdain. Oh and I had to edit out some of the offensive words in the original post, so perhaps wind your neck in a bit.}

Ed001: I have never referred to them as the "RS" - I've always found that term to be offensive, unnecessary and childish. However, I do refer to them as the "darkside" because they're the other "side" of the park and because I irrationally attribute their success to them practising the dark arts (!) and because (in a pathetic attempt at false rationalisation) I see so many people drawn to them rather than to the blue half of Merseyside. I don't think I'm "bitter" - although I might well be twisted (!) - but I do wish that Everton had done "better" in recent years. Ho hum.
;-)

{Ed001's Note - and darkside would be what I would call banter, it shows no disrespect but a sense of humour. It could never be termed offensive. Though I would have to wonder, isn't the Everton blue a darker colour than Liverpool's red? Would that not make you the dark side? I will have to have a word with Bill about that, maybe he could run a marketing campaign based on that?}

Ed001 are u havin a laugh we even get liverpool fans comin on our site slaggin us of so I think your wrong in sayin they show us respect because theye dont.

{Ed001's Note - I never said they did, I said you can't complain about a lack of respect when you are being offensive to them! We have to edit more Everton posts than any of the other posts to remove offensive words aimed at other teams. Almost every single time it is an offensive reference to Liverpool. When all you give out is nastiness, you will only get it back at you. It is going the way of Scottish football, when the Merseyside derby used to be the best in the world, it is now just another derby. It used to be special, now it is just nasty. It needs to change or both sides will suffer because they lose that usp from their club. Everton are trying to market themselves as a nice family club, to bring in future generations. A friendly derby, contested on the field, not in the stands, with families standing together in red and blue is a big part of that image. It won't happen while there is such bitterness between the fans. Yes fans go between the sites slagging each other off, but it is hardly as bad as you are making out. There is also Everton fans regularly visiting the Liverpool site too. So long as they don't get offensive, I don't see the problem?}

Mmmmm personally I blame the glory hunters from 'who knows where and who really cares anyway'

Some of my cousins are ' from the darker side' my next door neighbours when I was a kid were Reds I even went to Anfield with them and they came to Goodison with me cherry picking our matches of course.

The banter was an occasional natural exchange of words without venom full stop!

{Ed001's Note - most of those you are talking about don't care about Everton, sadly. I think that is half the problem. The nastiness is, to a large part, stemming from frustration from both sets of fans, with the way the derby has been lowered in importance in recent years. Trying to make it seem more important by using more and more offensive terms to describe each other will not make it so. The only way to rebuild it as a special match is to bring back the family atmosphere, as it was unique in world football. No one else at the top level had a local derby where the fans sat together happily and enjoyed the game together (well I say enjoyed....). Though as much of the problem is down to ticket prices, in the old days people would go to whichever side happened to be at home that week with their mates. Me dad, for instance, would go with a group of mates to the games, some were reds, some were blues, and they would just go each week to whoever was at home. Can anyone afford to do that any more?}

Come on lads be more sensitive remember kopites. Wait am I allowed to say that. are a sensitive bunch I mean its always everybody else's fault. its a banter site and you should know what u let yourself in for when u agreed to help out on our site. Respect is earned not just given because you have a history. am not bitter I just dislike LFC and all it stands for.

Sorry ed 001 but your talking absolute rubbish some of my closest friends and family are red shhhhhh and we both give each other stick over football using all kinds of phrases that would offend u. Does that mean I don't respect these people or they don't respect me. No it means were having banter/fun/ a laugh. Just because you don't let Liverpool supporters post thing doesn't mean that your opinion is right. U should try an relax a bit mate
