Up until recently I have been a supporter of RM and I think one of the strongest points in his favour is that there is no one out there who will take over mid season.

So, genuine question, who realistically do we want to replace him? Prem experience like Laudrup or McClaren (if Derby don't come up)? Untried like Howe or Tuchel? Big name like Klinsmann or Blanc? Internal like Unsworth or Big Dunc? Or someone like Ragnick?

Personally for me the best candidate out there is Paul Clement at Madrid, or even the Porto boss Lopetegui. But who does everyone else realistically think we should get?

For me in order
1. Frank De Boer
2. Steve McClaren
3. Duncan Ferguson - also interim

We didn't learn our lesson when we took a loser in the shape of Martinez. He won the FA Cup - well done - but he took his Wigan side lower and lower during his time there and eventually got them relegated. I should have known better than to think he could do different with us - even with (on paper) better players.
Our previous managers might not have all worked out, but they all (as far as I can recall) had done well with limited resources elsewhere or had proved themselves winners at other clubs or had shown promise and potential. Why on Earth would we take on anyone with a record that includes releagtion or second-season syndrome or, at the very least, someone who hasn't shown the ability to improve a team year-on-year? I also can't see how BK would want - considering his belief in the people's club, and the DNA of the club, and the "family" atmosphere, and the wish for a manager to be responsible for the direction of the entire club (no director of football for us!) - a "foreign" manager who's only interested in the first team and wants a big transfer pot and doesn't "get" what it means to be an Evertonian. What the heck do I know?
Besides, the available managers are out-of-work for a reason - and why would those in work (and doing well where they are) want to leave and join us?

Today was a case in point about how anyone is sacrificed in order to perpetuate the Roberto myth. Jags one of those out of form is given a script to go bleat to ssn in the hope that we will swallow a second coming. After all our next 10 games come under the heading of 10 finals. Mind you wonder who we wheel out after Kiev and Newcastle.
