I don't see any king of improvement next season with Martinez.

99% of fans don't trust him. Baines doesn't trust him which was clear when he was commentating. Mirallas doesn't and is off in the summer. Lukaku doesn't trust him and wants a move after just one season. Distin fell out with him. Howard publicly questioned his tactics.

You can't win games against top teams by just practicing ball work. Arsenal have scored more goals than any other team this season from set plays. that's a great manager. He's adapted their football. And to think martinez doesn't even work on them.

As for giving him money. Alcaraz and mcGeady are not up to this league. Robles is young and has shown big improvements. Lukaku is a good young talent but I fear his attitude and his belief we are a stepping stone will see him leave sooner rather than later. McCarthy is a class act and if he adds goals will be one of the best in EPL. However, he won't be staying if man u or chelsea come in for him. Besic could turn out to be a good signing but he needs to release the ball quicker and be more direct.

Loan signings are always going to be hit and miss especially when you sign them. Barry good last year but he does cost us goals when he keeps the ball too long. When gives it early he's good. Atsu is too lightweight and sometimes plain stupid. Lennon is a good loan signing but he frustrates me. doesn't score enough and his final ball is terrible. Over hit or inaccurate. Ged def was good and excited the crowd. Only young but direct with goals in him over time. We'll never get him back.

Do I trust him with money then? Yes. When it comes to paying big money He's bought well. The free transfers are the ones that haven't worked.

Do I trust him with the players? No. Tactics, comments and lack of adaptability mean he will never get the most out of them. Eventually frustration will develop like this year and cause unrest and disharmony.

Another season of disappointment.

Liked this post except for one point and I'm sure I'll get stick for pointing this out but I wish people would stop saying things like "99% of fans don't trust him" or words to that effect don't presume to speak for other people you don't even know 1% of all everton fans so how can you know what 99% think I myself wanted to believe Martinez had a plan but over the season its starting to look like he really is out of his depth although I don't have a problem with him being positive I'd much rather have that than someone who is dour and negative but I do agree he does says things that go against the evidence of the performances.
I do think he should be given more time, this season has been poor but we are not in danger of being relegated purely based on our fixtures and the fixtures of teams below and around us.
It will be interesting to see what effect the lack of european football has on our league form.
who does everyone think we should try and get if BK surprises us and does sack RM at the end of the season?

Its a flipant figure I used but I'm not say like or want. Even most people who want him there or like him still won't fully trust him. I like him as a person but I don't trust him to turn things around and put us back to chasing the top 4.

''this season has been poor but we are not in danger of being relegated purely based on our fixtures and the fixtures of teams below and around us. ''

Staying in the Premier League then will be because of 'Lady Luck' smiling on our fortunes?

Rather than a good squad (which I believe we have) and a good manager (which I believe we don't have) guiding us to safety with skill, effort and savvy tactics?

Lady Luck is a busy lass and we have no right to expect her to provide us with crappy teams that have Championship football written all over them, to join us in relegation zones in the future!

On the contrary most teams that go down are only marginally worse than those who just about stay up imo.

Roberto Martinez is not equipped to do battle with gritty tooth and nail football teams like these .

The results have been bad, the performances have been woeful, but, where he really generated hostility, was describing those who "dared" to voice their disapproval, as not proper evertonions.Have been going to everton since 1963, some good times, some bad, but I know crap when I see it, you can try to put a posative spin on one bad performance, but try to do that with 30 plus games, and people see you for what you are A FRAUD.
