Jonney Evens, tom cleverly, for . sake!

Agree1 Disagree0

19 May 2015 20:50:58
What's worse is that both those players would inevitably better the team, last season I remember carra & neville saying we were a proper team that could compete, we've gone backwards and all signs are pointing to loosing some of our best players, it's all gone to 💩

19 May 2015 22:49:36
Please don't let this be true, Evans is slow and clumsy, Cleverly not what we need, we have enough grafters in midfield, need a bit of class. What with Nani and Jana what's his name, are we becoming a dumping ground for Manc cast Offs? We will be getting Scholes and Giggs out of retirement next 😃

{Ed025's Note - i agree woburn mate...these are not signings that would improve us, they are crap to be honest mate..

19 May 2015 23:00:58
Well then we are odds on for the premier league next season, two absolute smashing signings bring it on Coyb. 😝😝😞😞

20 May 2015 02:56:32
I am hoping that this is the thin end of the wedge and just one of many false summertime banter lines. Alternatively this is true in which case, I will want to have a word with Bill and ask him what the hell is going on. Such a backwards move. We need winners who will transfer their knowledge to our younger guys to fire their enthusiasm for a tilt at the top 4, not mid table mediocrity.

{Ed025's Note - your right TT, what a backwards step that would be!..im praying that its just speculation mate..

20 May 2015 03:28:36
Would take Cleverley on a free all day! We've got Osman (34), Barry (34) & Gibson who's never fit, don't see the harm in bringing him in to replace one of those. On the Evans side of things, NOO WAY! he's awful and the money getting talked about is ridiculous for a player of his standards, i'd rather give Alcaraz a contract than waste money on him! We have to be looking at better quality centre backs than that!

{Ed025's Note - if we get the 2 of them on a free...then we are still being ripped off imo jwitter..

20 May 2015 07:59:44
Just to add some humour that Evans would be happy as he wouldn't have to move house. Goodison being within spitting distance from where he lives. Not good enough for Everton .

20 May 2015 09:16:42
We should not touch any of these with a barge pole. None of them improve the squad. We need 3 or 4 players with a couple of them young with potential and a quality winger that's established and can instantly improve us and take us to another level in that area.

Evans, Nani and Cleverly! What a joke!

20 May 2015 09:36:55
I know where I would put that ''barge pole'' if they do come BlueJohn!

20 May 2015 10:23:06
I keep saying this and will say it again. RM seems to take the "easy" signing route. In the past EFC scoured the Irish leagues, league 2, The Greek and Bosnian Leagues.we brought in some real quality youngsters and the squad benefitted. RM seems to wait for a top 4 club to be getting rid of aging, injury plagued or plain just past it has beens:
Alcaaz, Kone, Barry, Eto'o and that's before Cleverly or Evans. Even Lukaku and the loan signings are from top 4 British teams (the Barca kid an exception). It just seems lazy signings to me.

20 May 2015 11:35:46
Oi, leave Clevs alone.

I agree about Evans though, we have got enough crap in the squad without adding more.

Martinez Out

20 May 2015 15:16:03
I'm hoping it is just paper talk. To be fair to Martinez when he has to spend good money on players he does well. McCarthy, Lukaku, Besic and even Robles are decent players and haven't depreciated in value.

As for the Free transfers, I've said before, you get what you pay for.

Cleverly is not good enough even at Villa. Nani would be a complete disaster but the talk of £10 mil for Evans must be a lie surely. A free transfer is too much for the lad.

My only other thought is that I thought last season we needed more people in the club shop for kit release days. I could be this role they are filling!

20 May 2015 17:10:01
Evans is better than Alcatraz. Cleverly I simply do not get. Although on recent form he is better than Barry but you would assume he would be played further up so what's the point?

20 May 2015 10:50:07
besic? henen? galloway? joel? terribly lazy signings. why get a poor lazy signing like lukaku when you can scour players like magaye gueye and apostolos vellios.

20 May 2015 17:41:21
Degs you keep sayin it so I will lazy signings just rubbish talk Galloway lukaku McCarthy besic henen robles Barry Kone Alcarez mcgeady ten signings six under the age of 24 one 27 two came from top four clubs where do you get your stats :)

20 May 2015 19:45:41
Ed can you find out the honours Johnny Evans has won and post please.

{Ed025's Note - 3 prem titles mate..

21 May 2015 06:48:24
My replies: First to Swan. if I said Newcastle played in black and white. you would argue that I was wrong because they play in white and black. Now to Coyone. Galloway, Henen, Kone and Alcaraz.how many games have they played between them? early days with Galloway and Henen I agree.but Kone and Alcaraz. in MY OPINION. are lazy signings. Lukaku . a good signing yes. But where from? A distant league? No.on our doorstep. McCarthy? a good signing yes. but same as Alcaraz and Robles and McCarthy.Wigan.how far away did he have to scour for them? Barry?. again how far. So if we go for Cleverly and Evans.my point remains. Not exactly hard work finding these players is it? Perhaps my point should have been clearer and not focused on the top 4 bit.more that he goes for easy doorstep signings with one or two exceptions I agree.

21 May 2015 08:07:41
While I haven't seen much of evans, utd fans do not like him, mainly having a go at his passing. Degsy, you cannot be serious, where we get players from doesn't matter, its about the players themselves.

21 May 2015 08:57:58
Swan I agree with your last statement. It doesn't matter where we get players from. We agree on that. My point is that the quality of signings is impaired if you look no further than your own doorstep. Widen the area and the bigger and better the catch. I hope that's the end of this one. I don't want another Osman debate as I am sure you don't too. Degsy
