Guys I thought I'd ask here as I honestly would like to know.

Barkley, is he as good as we are all told? I rated him the season before last and thought this boy can go far but for last 16 months I really have gone off him. He seems to be very selfish and looks like he has a big fish small pond attitude.

Am I correct or way off the mark?

Agree2 Disagree3

He does not have a football brain Chris, regularly does not know where he is. Has the vision of a blind man wearing a blindfold whilst in a pitch black room. Shoots from anywhere within 90 yards, usually out for a throw in. He does not track back, hogs the ball. Despite being nearly 6 foot 3 he gets beat in the air by 5 foot 9 players a lot. He is not fast, gets bullied off the ball and is always on the floor. He never supports Lukaku and, like Rodwell, is a headless chicken on and off the ball. I am desperate for him to be sold while we can still make money on him.

{Ed001's Note - so you like him then?}

I actually think he has become more of a team player in passing more often where as the season before he was makin more solo runs something he is very good at also think the pressure got to him last season a bit hopefully we will see a better Barkley this season and a better everton

Make or break season for barkley.
Was supposed to b best thing since sliced bread still blowing hot & cold.
No excuse this season though no world cup so is well rested & should be raring 2 go.
For me he hasn't lived up to his potential ain't scored as many as Rooney & Gerrard did @ his age.
City's interest in him has gone by the wayside so wot does that tell u looked little boy lost for much of last season

Love him ed, great lad but not a great footballer.

{Ed001's Note - I would never have guessed you didn't rate him as a player. You really need to stop beating about the bush and get off that fence Swan. Tell us your true feelings about him, rather than mincing your words......}

t the end of the day Swan has him to a 't'. Either he needs to wake up n realise that he needs to start learning basic football game management or piss off to Chelsea where he won't need any game management as the players there will do it for him, that's when he starts a game there like!!

Agree that he needs to perform next season, but it's are fault tbh.
We including most news outlets had him earmarked from the season before last as being " The next Rooney" and England's future hope for trophys ect .

You can imagine the pressure this has put on him , I mean even if he had a similar career to Osman that would be seen as a failure.

On top of that I can imagine him to play fifa and it can't have helped when he was bumped up from a 71-77 rated player, this probably gave him a sense of false achievement.

Haven't got a clue what was up with Ross last season but he looked like the player that started against QPR a few years ago. Clearly talented but no idea of when to pass or shoot .

It's so annoying to watch he will have the ball in space with an opportunity to pass but he chooses to shoot instead and then when he should let a shot off he chooses to pass.

I know most of you will say boll*cks, but I feel the injury he suffered and the age that he was has really stifled his development.

So yeah, he needs to have a good one next season and bringing cleverly in should take a bit off pressure off him also.

Quick note on cleverly, I've seen a few people annoyed by his signing.
Have you all forgot 4 years ago we had the bloody midfield maestro that is phill Neville playing cm.

For me his game is all about releasing the ball quickly moving receiving and so on.

Last season are play at times was the sort of thing I'd expect to see down the park.
Him signing is only going to be a good thing IMO.

Leave the lad alone. He will come good, but not if every time he gets the ball people are jumping on his back. I think half you lot want him to fail. It's a nasty trait that's becoming a regular thing at our home games last season. Get behind them and support them. And before you start with they earn bla bla bla. So what they all earn a bloody fortune, far far to much but that's how it is.
Right time for bed.

Really? We are basing how he is being affected because he was upgraded on a Football game?. Please tell me I'm imagining it.

Okay Swan

You may think that what I said about Fifa was stupid and maybe it was but think of it this way.

You work in a office , at the end of the year a report comes out rating every staff members performance over the year.

If you where at the bottom at the start of the year and ended up at the top I bet you'd feel pretty good.

Say If it was a sales role and everybody was saying " He's the next Alan sugar "

The year after the pressure would be on to at least match the performance you showed the previous year.

And then when you aren't quite matching the same form as the previous year people would start doubting you and you would probably start to doubt yourself aswell.

For whatever reasons last season Ross looked like he had 0 confidence. In my opinion it would be wise to assess him over the summer and possible try to take him out of the spotlight a bit.
