Like many I was taken in by Martinez in season one. He was found out big time last season and many factors such as pre season, back room issues, morale, tactical inflexibility, team selection, substitution decisions / indecision, set pieces all played a part. Still haven't forgotten abject performances such as Hull and Kiev away. The least said about post match press conferences the better.

Well the new season awaits and whatever my misgivings I want him to do well because I want Everton to do well. I still have high expectations. Why? Because on our day we have shown that we can compete with top four sides. Also if you don't approach games thinking you can win you may as well give up. Therefore the manager needs to analyse last season and learn the lessons and start the new season well or he will be under intense pressure.

So far the pre season plan looks more full on and more competitive and transfer business has been early for a change.

His success this remaining window is to play hardball keep hold of our key young players. There needs to be a few more additions clearly centre back and up front, but as I've said before I can't see him being entrusted with too big a budget, so he needs to get it right .

I would be happy for him to sell a some of those who apparently want to leave Mirralas and McGeady. Lukaku needs to knuckle down, get some support have a blinding season and a Euros then he will have earned his agent another big pay day. Stones and Coleman seem more adult about things. I think they are both grateful for what EFC have given them and both signed long term contracts. McCarthy I like and although he's on a long deal too I can see how new players on better deals will destabilise things.

Televised games announced so seasons getting close. Bring it on

The season margined took over pre season wa already installed place the players knew about it because moves was a creature off habit so he was comfortable and so we're the players so everything went well last season you're had the world cup and marginez had other distractions like TV work so poor planning force last year we had a massive injury list starting within barley on the Thursday before the opening game and the list went on Mccarthy miracles luau stones Coleman jags so last year was poor in terms off per for ancestors because off the injury as well as poor management so those year he has no excuses so watch those space luv ya coyb

Tedster, I am with you on this. but I have one major reservation. and I know this will upset a lot of fellow Blues but here goes. The last 2 seasons of Moyes gave us very entertaining and fat flowing football. We literally battered some of the lower teams. We used our 2 full backs to the max and they both chipped in with overlapping performances and an abundance of goals. Most games we achieved 70% possession and when we played the top teams we wee starting to compe for the first time in a decade. RM came in and has started to change the team into his own. First season was a breath of fresh air. Last season was terrible. Not for our position. but for our performances. Ok we ended with a reasonable points tally.but we battered no one all season. I think we won 5 of our last 7 on memory but they were all scrappy and at times lucky results. as were most of the wins we managed to achieve. I just hope that RM has the ability to get us playing better again. but I have my doubts.as you obviously do.

what does Moyes have to do with anything Degsy? What about the 8 years prior to those last 2 seasons. The last of which was not exciting as we played hoof the ball until January. We never competed with top teams, we fluffed it at Old Trafford, terrible at the Emirates, played a boring as hell draw at Anfield and got beat By Torres at Chelsea. We did nothing in the cups again, we went 1-0 up at Wembley and Mr Negative sat back, like against Chelsea in the final of 09 and it cost us again. The first season under Martinez alone was better and more exciting than anything Moyes cooked up in 10 years, combined.
