And now several people were saying he was crying when pressured by Evertonians on his future after the game :(. Feel really sorry for the lad, I don't think he has thought the whole thing through, cannot be easy turning the TV on everyday and seeing your name mentioned everywhere with so much speculation. I do get the feeling he really does love the club and has no idea what to do. This is a time when someone like Martinez, McCarthy, Baines or Naismith need to have a word with him and give him a bit of help. He's clearly gutted with how it is all turning out, it may sound like I'm clutching at straws but I'm not, I honestly do not think he thought it through. I think he has rushed into it all. Hope Mourinho, Terry and Cahill are happy, seeing as how he is staying, thanks to their actions Stones is probably terrified of the season ahead with all the abuse he will be getting. They should be ashamed, it's one thing trying to unsettle a player and it is another thing to destroy his standing with his current club when they were not even certain of getting him. Hope the manager, staff and most importantly the players look after him. After my rushed reaction after the transfer request my whole standpoint has honestly changed, feel so sorry for him. Hope he gets a boss reception against Chelsea, he is the best young Centre Back in Europe for me, if we have any hope of him wanting to stay then he needs our love and support, not vile abuse!. It is important we try to match his ambitions, we need to get some players in and have a good season. I fear Stones going will open the door for a mass fire sale. He's a nice lad clearly and it's awful the situation he is in. I don't blame him, I blame Mourinho and his sick tactics to try and get him. The media certainly haven't helped. So please lads, if you go the game, don't go spurting all sorts of hatred towards him. Support him and show we are better then those twisted weirdo's in that video.

Agree 100% with Swans post. I seriously believe some fans want us to sell our players as they love to boo and hate. Treat the lads with respect and love they deserve and as RM has stated this could be a golden generation for Everton - which other team has the quality in youth that we have without buying it

Martinez's line 'sometimes money can't buy you what you want.' Brilliant dig at Chelsea and the other billionaire teams, let's just hope we stand strong and convince Stones that he should stay at us.

I'm still not happy about how he has gone about the request (timing etc) but he is probably just a confused young lad who doesn't know what to do for the best. Probably acting on the advice of agents etc who just want to make their own wedge of money.
