I can only assume a lot of posts are put on here in the heat of frustration after a few sherbets as some posters really need to read back their comments!
We had a lot of bad luck yesterday bad deflected goal and one offside, you cannot compensate for this, but again midweek the luck was with us.
I keep reading so much criticism of players like Barkley, Stones etc yet other top clubs covet these players, who do you intend replacing them with that is better or wants to play for Everton Yarmolenko?
I have myself been critical of RM however he picked a strong team yesterday, made changes when necessary and cannot be blamed for the result! He did not fall over under the challenge of Costa, Jags did the captain so many wanted back in place of Stones!
lets face it a 3-3 draw albeit yet again was disappointing but by scoring 3 we have a chance to win games the old 0-0 shut outs under Moyes we had no chance. Chelsea are not at their best but are still champions and full of top players!
I think we need to sometimes realise that we have a decent team and are just a couple of additions short of being top four club, we have great youth development and could be a lot worse off, just look at Villa who were comparable to ourselves in the past.

{Ed025's Note - good post that wakka mate..

Where are we in the league? How many games have we won? How many goals have we conceded? I think yesterday's comments and complaints are just a culmination of poor results for the last 1.5 seasons. We're not getting better, nothing is changing at all. We're a mid/ bottom half team with some good individuals who won't stay if 'exciting' football doesn't result in winning games. I'd rather have boring 1-0 victories than high scoring draws and defeats.

Be careful what you wish for, we are a better team this year than last, unfortunately you are right that results are not good enough, but we have started to improve and are on a run of playing top teams! If as so many want we sell the crown jewels who will come in? we only have a chance of attracting better players by keeping our own.
The club as a whole manager and players need to address this and as an Evertonian I will continue to support them, I can remember a time when things were a 100 times worse than they are now!

We went to a team that has been awful this season, were 2-0 up, then even 3-2 up with barely any time left, and still messed it up! . How can the manager not take any blame when the EXACT same thing happened against Bournemouth. Or was Jags at fault in that game, which would be difficult seeing how he didn't play. We don't have the ability to go gung ho like Liverpool did 2 seasons ago. The old you score 2 we score 3 thing, instead, we score 2 or 3 and the opposition score 3 or 4. Look where we are in the league and people tried to blame Europa League last season. Martinez used that excuse constantly, what is the excuse now? Oh it's Jags fault? .

{Ed025's Note - yesterday was only 1 persons fault swan..the bloody linesman..

17 Jan 2016 13:46:46
And who's fault for giving away a 2 goal lead? Same question for the Bournemouth game. The linesman? .

{Ed025's Note - no the ref that time...we are playing some lovely stuff mate and are the entertainers, yes we could have had more points and yes the defensive flaws are there for all to see but we are still a work in progress...do you want to go back to the monotonous moyes way of playing by boring us all to death?..

17 Jan 2016 13:55:38
We're celebrating draws and convincing ourselves that midtable is okay because we look pretty. I don't really want to sell our stars but we'll have no choice if we can't provide them the platform they deserve. Martinez has proven over the last 1.5 seasons that he cannot take us forward. Check the stats; they don't lie. As long as we accept RM's inability to set us up to get wins it shows our small club mentality.

I don't mean this as a personal attack Wakka, far from it as I also remember being 100 times worse. In those days out squad was 100 times worse as well though. It was less depressing failing to get results then because I knew we were rubbish. Now we're much better on paper than grass.

{Ed025's Note - its also no use moaning about everything everton either pod, the players are crap, the stadium is a dump, the chairman a thief, the manager an idiot, all comments said by supposed evertonians recently..how about lets support the club and get behind the set up we have for a change?..its ok to have the odd moan here and there but lets not go over the top..

17 Jan 2016 14:59:09
All of them bar the players being crap is true to be fair.

Ed, I don't see why it is an either/ or situation, Martinez or Moyes. Leicester and Arsenal play football just as good as ours without defending like we do.

The work in progress will halt massively when Stones, Deulofeu and Lukaku leave in the summer because this manager somehow hasn't done anything with them.

{Ed025's Note - i think your being a bit harsh mate, yes we need to defend better as a unit but we have been very unlucky at times for me..

17 Jan 2016 16:09:42
I wouldn't take it that way Pod, I will advocate that RM has to shoulder some of the blame, but remember in yesterdays game one blatant offside and one which was a wicked deflection and pure fluke, these things happen, seemingly to us a lot but its bad luck!
ed025 is correct the football is so much better now, I absolutely believe a couple of good signings can be a catalyst to change our fortunes season!
time to splash the cash board members!

In seasons gone by yesterdays result wouldn't be so disappointing. My gripe, leaving the officials aside, is we are leaking too many soft goals which keep costing us points. The fact that this has happened a few times this year means there is an underlying problem. For me, our defensive capabilities have been compromised under RM, albeit for a more attacking style. That, however, is getting us nowhere apart from further down the league. Like it or not, we are similar to his Wigan side. We may have better players, for now, but the style is pretty much the same. Take away Rom and his goals and we are in a dog fight. Like players, young managers should learn as they gain experience but I'm not so sure RM is prepared to do that, he stubbornly chips away with his methods without changing much at all. If we finish outside the top ten this season then it is obvious we are going backwards under his leadership. Lose some of our better players this summer then we are in trouble. The attacking football, when we are on top of our game, may be good to watch but not at the expense of our top flight status. We have to hope this take over talk isn't just hot air, it could be the only thing that saves us in the end.

Pod is spot on, 1-0 every time for me. Football is a results business, you can play all the 'incredible, exciting, phenomenal' football you want but if all it ends up in is draws and losses, that by any definition is not progress. The fact is that we are worse positionally under Martinez than we were under Moyes and that is phenomenal considering that we have the best Squad we have had in ages (and I agree with that) . No need bleating about extra time either, yesterday our own players exuberance jumping into the crowd etc it took a good minute to restart the game and against Bournemouth our own supporters ran onto the pitch, all bad luck of our own making.
