Don't want to worry anyone, but paddypower have Moyes as 2/1 fav, to be our next manager!

Agree2 Disagree2

Not worried with that at all. Which would you rather JCW100 Martinez or Moyes? This time last year there would be a lot more picking Martinez. I suspect today there would be more picking Moyes. Say what you want about Moyes we were consistent under him.

Like a post I wrote about our chairman Moyes is not perfect just like Martinez or any manager for that matter. If I had to pick which of the 2 I'd rather it would be Moyes every time. I'd have to question why anyone would rather Martinez. Better squad than Moyes ever had and he manages to finish at least 4 or 5 places lower.

That's right. Set those standards high. Moyes or Martinez? Are you kidding?

{Ed025's Note - im with you john, talk about out of the frying pan into the fire!!, if we went back for moyes that would be me done im afraid, i can take disappointment and even a bit of failure at times but to self inflict misery as well as boredom on us would be the final straw..as it says in brewsters millions..NONE OF THE ABOVE..

One more thing. Moyes admitted to selling our players to bigger clubs to further their careers when trying to steal Baines on the cheap. At least Martinez has changed that at Everton.

In knocking Moyes it says one thing you have a very short memory.
As for this stupity over Baines, he was trying to do the best for United which is ok as he was United manager. As for selling players, well polocies like that come from the board.
While Moyes is not my first choice this time around, I would welcome him back with open arms as he is a very very good manager and built a fine team that Martinez has destroyed.
I admit that I am discusted with all this knocking of Moyes, what next knocking Royal, Kendall!

{Ed025's Note - its all about opinions i suppose milomj, i have never been one for looking back mate..

02 Apr 2016 11:02:00
These were his words milomj not mine. The stupidity is his and if you want a stupid manager mores the pity on you.

I've been banging on since our takeover on here to try and change peoples opinion that we have to look at average players and managers. We have money. It's the EPL and we can attract the people from the top of the pile again.

Neither of these are good enough. Moyes had his chance and failed. He couldn't attract the players when he took over because of who he was and now you want him to do the same with us. He then got given a decent pot at Real and took them down towards the relegation places and then sacked. Now you want him back?!

All I am saying is think bigger and think better. I'll keep banging on though until we all start looking at a brighter future and no longer at the past.

I did say Moyes is not my first choice, I like the idea of Koeman, he is very impressive. While I said I would welcome Moyes back, I do not want him back as I agree we cannot look back, but I only ever praise him for what he did, an for me it would not be the end of the world if he came back.
Yes let's go forward and find a new man for a new era if we can.

02 Apr 2016 12:05:29
. Koeman all day long for me too. massive respect from me as a player and now as a manager. gets the right balance between defense and attack and talks no waffle week in week out!

02 Apr 2016 13:48:28
I am to old to have another ten years of boring Moyes? remember he left us? said we where holing players back?

02 Apr 2016 13:52:26
BlueJohnUns we get a new owner and all of a sudden we're too good for Moyes. We've gone backwards since he left. Fact is Martinez is finishing the team in places where Moyes finished in his first couple of years at Everton. Set your standards high? Are you serious BlueJohnUns.

Our defense needs sorting big time. I'd totally agree with getting Moyes in, get the defense sorted then maybe get a new manager depending on how we were doing under him.

I certainly wouldn't turn my nose up at Moyes as we were doing better under him than this clown. We're going backwards. From having one of the best defenses in the league to one of the worst within a couple of years.

For the record Moyes would not be my first choice but I certainly would not turn up my nose at him.

I hope Villa appoint Moyes as their next manager to stop this debate. Yes, DM did a good job with the resources he had available, especially in his early years, but is that enough to have him back in charge? He failed spectacularly at utd, albeit with the help of a novice chief exec, and didn't fair much better in Spain. For the record, he was never going to succeed at the mancs, he was left with a carcass of a squad in need of over hauling. It has already been mentioned of him saying we were holding our top players back, that's a big cross next to his name. Before he left (he had already been named as SAF's replacement) utd were throwing in derisory bids for two of our players. That, for me, was enough to cut all ties with him forever. I expected him to be interested in a few of our squad but he could have at least waited until his first day in charge of his new club. Disrespectful imo.
We need to move forward with a new manager in charge if the board decide to sack RM, not look backwards. Not many managers have a successful second stint at clubs.
No denying that he took us up the league and stabilised the club but he could never take us to the next level. We also can't deny that RM has taken backward steps with regards to our league position. If we were to sack the current manager then let's move forwards with a new man who knows how to win things. I'm certain that DM is not that man.

{Ed025's Note - im with you all the way spud..

02 Apr 2016 17:04:14
Spudv when you pop up with a post I rarely if ever diagree with you. I'm 50/ 50 on this one.

He didn't fail at Utd as you say he was never going to succeed. As I said he wouldn't be my first choice but with the choice of him or Martinez there is no comparison imo. I'm sick of Martinez and wouldn't mind seeing Moyes in for a year or 2 to steady the ship and then pick our manager to bring us to the next level.

I said months ago on here a managers second stint at a club is very rarely if ever successful. I obviously totally agree with you on that. I'm just sick of conceding goals. I get a little physically nauseous when we end up losing or drawing from a winning position which has happened far too much this season imho.
