I have said many things in support of David Moyes over the last few years, yet I still do not really want him back as manager. The main reason for this is that he would split our supporters right down the middle and half don't want him back. Even ED025 says that would be the last straw and his support would then be finished. That actually disturbs me becaause all during RM's reign. from his appointment to sacking, I was against him being manager and when he signed Kone, Robles and Alcaraz my thoughts were confirmed. Robles to some degree has won me over, but I still think there are other better and younger goalkeepers out there for the taking. Back to the split support point. my support never wained under RM and I am surprised to hear long time supporters saying they will stop going should Moyes return. I understand that it may not be their 1st choice and that Moyes ddid say some disrespectful things, but he has to be an improvement on RM. Added to which, his top 6 achievements were based on having zero funds for players. All his signings were maade by balancing the books over 11 years. We actually maade 1 million profit over those 11 years wheras RM has left us with multi million debt and an ageing squad far inferior to the one Moyes left us with. Our last 2 league positions do not lie about the quality of the squad. Motivation may be part of the problemsand organisation/ tactics too? Again Moyes is very good at these skills.

{Ed025's Note - moyes would be a backward step degsy, yes he stabilized the club and on a shoestring budget but would you honestly trust him with big money?, his forte is to make his club hard to beat and that usually comes with dogs of war boring tactics and his teams offer no entertainment value at all, if you enjoy that tedious backs to the wall knife to a gunfight stuff then hes your man mate, i aspire to my club being better than that..

Agree2 Disagree1

Got to agree with Ed025, Moyes speciallises with bringing the best out of team that relies more on hard work and turns them into a team that are tough to beat but is missing that little bit extra when trying to compete with other big clubs that have a top manager.

This obsession with Moyes is now becoming a bit weird.

{Ed025's Note - i agree ace..

Also the squad Moyes left Martinez with was superior?!
No centre forward, no midfield, an aging centre half pairing in Distin and Jags and very little youth coming through as Kevin Sheedy posted, because he wasn't interested.
I think the squad thay Martinez has left the next manager is far better and there is youth coming through now.

Can we ban Moyes posts?

{Ed025's Note - like it or not tedster he is still in the frame mate, i wish it were different but im afraid its not..

degsy

half mate, not sure where you got that figure from, try 75/ 76ths don't want him back.

I'm with degs on this and for the reasons he has given. I've been a season ticket holder for 25yrs this season and in 2012 moyes last season the fast paced high tempo passionate technical football we played was the best I have witnessed in my 25 years.

I would advise anyone to take a look at that season highlights before I get hung out to dry as well by the way. Just my opinion but I stand by it.

My sentiments too JAY1878. Our possession stats that season were tremendous. and not just aimlessly passing the ball sideways. We may have had 2 ageing center halves and one of them is still our best one and club captain.3 years later! We had the best 2 overlapping fullbacks whipping in tremendous crosses and I was thoroughly entertained. much more so than under RM's style. But like I say in the original post. I don't see how supporters can say they would never go again if he was appointed! I would stillgo if they appointed Kenny Dalgliesh!

I have to agree I really don't want Moyes back and not because of the way he acted when he left but because we are in a position to attract a much higher calibre of manager and we should be aiming for those heights but I will still support the blue and white if he does i'm not a Manager supporter I'm an Everton supporter good or bad and will be till I die!
