just watched a you tube clip of barkley using a inhaler for his breathing it was in the tunnel may have been at wembley but not sure but may be why he wasint at his best all season he may have asthma although we all know the reason why he was crap it was brown shoes who has ruined him.

Agree3 Disagree2

i wouldn't say a pass completion of 86% and a take on success of 68% was crap. people forget he is a kid. A kid that was mismanaged yes, but people are way to hard on him and give him too much stick.

01 Jun 2016 18:53:17
He wasn't crap. He put in one of the most productive seasons by an everton midfielder since the 80's. Look back over the history books and see when the last time an Everton midfielder scored 12 goals and got 8 assists and it will surprise you.

01 jun 2016 19:20:56
easy guys take a chill pill, i am not saying he is crap i am saying by his standerds he was crap. and by the way i like ross so let's get that straight so you can quote all the facts you like but if you were honest you would admit he was crap and more would agree than disagree so you look at your history books and you will find i am right. pedro yuo said he was miss managed so you must have thought he wasnt all that good either. its ok quoting pass completions but why don't you quote miss placed passes there were hundreds fact.

01 Jun 2016 19:57:42
Royalpaul, you are foolish, he has his best season for us both in assists and goals and you want to talk about his misplaced passes.
Its so easy playing football from the stands or on tv and totally different on the pitch, what may look like an easy pass on tv, might not be so obvious in the moment.

01 Jun 2016 20:04:11
Bit contradictory paul. His stats for goals and assists last season show that it was his most productive in a blue shirt so, by his standards, that would suggest he wasn't crap to me. Not many players, if any, have had great seasons so look at the positives. If Ross can score that many goals and have that many assists in a damp squid of a campaign, imagine what he could be capable of in a well managed team?

{Ed025's Note - fair point spud..

How can he have hundreds of misplaced passes when his pass completion was 86%? Doesn't make sense and even if it was 1000 passes that went awry, that still makes him a great passer of the ball. I say he was mismanaged because he clearly played too much football for a lad his age and with the boo boys on his back. He needed a rest here and there but wasn't given it. I can understand why the likes of him let their heads dropped getting slated and booed week in week out. Some fans need to have a chat with themselves and stay away from Goodison if that's all they can do.

01 Jun 2016 21:53:57
why would i need to stay away from goodison. if you read my last post i did say i like ross which means i am not one of those that boo him "even when he has been crap " and don't give me that old line TOO MUCH FOOTBALL utter trash, the lad is 21 or 22 he is a beast of a lad, fit as a fiddle they are well looked after with sports scientists and nutrition experts so there is no excuse imagine telling reidy, sharpy etc. that they were not picked because they are playing too much football.

they would laugh in your face and back then they werent looked after like the little babies are now. anyway i stand by what i said. it's my opinion and you have yours. oh yes and your stats do they include little side way passes that go nowhere.

01 Jun 2016 22:49:07
Back then, as you put it, football was nowhere near as demanding as it is now. Half the players from the 80's and 90's wouldn't even cope with the demands of the modern game. Whiteside, Gascoigne, McGrath - all players that infamously played when bevvied!

In your original post, you said that he was crap and that Bobby had "ruined" him. Now do make your mind up what you are actually trying to say? Are you standing by saying he was crap or not crap? You've even managed to slate him in your last post toward the end after saying that he wasn't crap, I'm confused. Make your mind up.

I didn't actually state that you personally had booed him. If you took the time to read what I said, you'd see that I was talking about a certain type of fan that sits at Goodison constantly booing and moaning. Why go there if you're that type of fan? Pisses me off having to listen to the same guys every week with there heswall accent and their bovril moaning and whinging and then analysing the match like they're Andy gray. Your attitude in your original post suggests that you share their ire towards some players - players who are unfairly criticised and they suffer - hence the need to rest them.

And yes, opinions are like a@seholes - everyone has got one but some are full of crap.

01 Jun 2016 22:57:54
Pass rate means nothing, been many a time I've seen him and McCarthy pass it to and from 5 times, 10 times a game, think that would have a big influence on pass rate. Like all the everton players that done the most passes per game out the whole prem, all defenders to defenders and midfielders to defenders and back. Statistics are rubbish.

01 Jun 2016 22:58:48
The stats that count are the 12 goals and 8 assists. If you knew your history you would know in the most important part of his role he had an outstanding season and not bettered in the last 30 years!

Some people want the earth.

01 Jun 2016 23:21:12
Well said BlueJohn.

Bestyrne is another moaning type fan who thinks it's perfectly acceptable to get on the players and managers back because he pays his money and is a customer.

My final word - Barkley is a great player and had a really good season in a poor side that flattered to deceive. He would have done a lot better had he not had to put up with negative nonsense from large sections of the crowd at Goodison. I'd hate to see him leave, but would be delighted if the majority of those "fans" never showed their face at the ground again.

02 Jun 2016 01:20:08
Behave pedro ya crank, did I moan or get on anyone's back? no! do believe i talked about statistics being codswollops?

And yes I do and will get on players and managers backs If they don't perform, cause yes I do pay my hard earned money to watch these 'professional sports men' who are paid millions a year, to do there job and try there hardest week in and week out. I get not near a fraction they get and if I didn't do my job I would expect people to get on my back. They are in a privelaged position and we owe them no favours. As soon as a bigger pay packet comes the majority will move on, were will there devotion to you 'who wraps them in cotton wool and accepts substandard performances from millionaire so called professionals' be?

You must sit there and clap when a home goal goes in, so forgiving you give Gandhi and mother Teresa a bad name!

Calm down boys. We are all Blue! We all want the same thing (Moyes excepted) but it is emotional times! You lot sound like Swan and me in full debate lol X.
