There is so much I want to writr, but it would take far too long. A few points though are:
The manager has obviously decided that we will press much higher and Gueye fits well into the strategy. The keeper looks excellent and I would say Hart would be a bad signing re cost and do we actually need him. We still have Williams to come in. Lukaku is still with us and only a coupleof weeks to the end of the transfer window. But now a couple of warning bells that still resonate in my mind. We did not "batter" Spurs. we held them at home. We had one off performances like that under Martinez. and one game is just that. one game. let's see if these lovely improvements continue. I certainly hope so. I still worry about goals. Aside from Barkley's goal and a chance for DelBoy, there appeared to beno other goal chances. I still worry that we are dreadfully short of attacking midfielders with a goal within them. although at least Koeman has beenpicking Mirallas who obviously does have a goal withing him. just not of late. If we sign a couplemore players, I would say I might just have to concede on my previous posts and eat all that lovely humble pie!

Good post Degsy, we were never going to batter them though. It was a good performance against a team who was full strength and came close to winning the league last year. We were trying a new system without Williams, Coleman, lukaku so if yesterday is anything to by with a few new signings i am really positive for the rest of the season.

Firstly how can you say it was a "one off"? It was the first game of the new season under the new manager.
Secondly at no time will we ever be battering the top 5 teams, under RM Spurs would of battered us yesterday.
We played with no striker yesterday and had Williams on the bench yet we still managed a draw. I think with him playing Lumaba would never of got his header in and scored.
Koeman has stated they are only 70% to what fitness levels he wants and we will have 3 or 4 signings before the window closes.
Yesterday showed massive improvements in defense and those improvements will only continue.
We certainly deserved the draw if not the win.

Degsy you as we all know martinez left us in a mess just how much has finally come out in the comments of RK so do us a favour stop being a eternal pessimist and give the man a chance to get his players and his style of play over to them let's see your posts come xmas time I for one have a great feeling about this guy honest forthright and ruthless and won't have excuses for poor performances i'm 60 years old and have seen the best and worst in my life time but I have this gut feeling that this man is the one we have longed for in many a year just let's give him time and our backing and all will come to fruition coyb sorry if I upset anyone with my response.

It was a huge mistake appointing Martinez and especially on the reasons given by Bill but the past is the past. I agree with Mossley, this fella is the real deal, no waffle or rambling comments on games that only Martinez appeared to have watched and 30 odd thousand didn't. With Moshri and his team in place (and he is still formulating) we will progress, slowly at first but forward never the less.

Are you the same people who prased Martinez when we finished 4th. But yes it does look like he left us in a mess.

Never finished 4th under Martinez it was 5th.

Degsy you kind of contradict yourself in that post mate. You tell us it's only one game yet you don't believe we need a new keeper because MS had a good game. But, by your reckoning, it was only one game.
We looked a lot better in the first half than we have for a long time, as you say we can see what RK has worked on with the players, pressing etc. The performance was more important than the result but it was always going to be a bit of a test as Spurs had a great season last time out and have a talented and organised side. For me, yesterday showed that we will move in the right direction under RK.
There were a few more chances than you remember mate, GD had at least 3 opportunities. It's also quite telling that without a recognised striker on the pitch to start, RK does not trust Kone as his back up forward. We should expect at least one to be bought before deadline day, possibly 2 if Rom is really on his way. Bolasie is also on his way for a medical right now so things are still being done behind the scenes. Let's see where we are after a few games rather than judge on the first, especially since our manager has said they are not as fit as he'd like.
