I don't get why the majority of our fans are getting all giddy and girly over the prospect of Hart. Mancini wanted rid, Pellegrini wanted rid now Pep wants rid and is actually doing something about it and us Everton fans are all excited. I have a sneaky suspicion it's because he's England number 1. Woop de fricken do.

Money aside you have to ask yourself Would he improve our squad and the answer is yes. Massively.
The only other attainable keeper with prem experience is begovic so would be my 1st choice although, having seen Hart rallying the players in the tunnel in the euro games, we could do with some of that. Unfortunately his wages and fee because he has played at city makes him unattainable unless maybe on loan.

18 Aug 2016 22:28:33
Bergovic perfect example. And don't be using his rallying in the tunnel as a good thing because England still played rubbish and so did he. So I'm not buying thst 1.

18 Aug 2016 22:45:54
Bergovic please, city can shuv joe hart, as far as they like.

England were not set up properly to beat teams that defended deep and played for a draw. We beat the only team (wales) that didn't play like that and those tactics or lack of is mostly down to the manager. No plan B and how we know so much about that after the last 2 seasons under martinez.

I would not be in a rush to take Hart but he is better than what we had last season and unless stekelenburg has the season of his life (which he may just surprise us and have that) then he would be better than we have this season.

Wouldn't say any fan is getting giddy over Hart. In fact, it has caused quite a split between supporters. As the first reply says, would Hart improve the squad? Yes he would, he is better than the two we already have. Who else is available? In a dream world, most of us seem to covet Butland but that would cost us a fortune as Stoke won't want to sell. Bergovic wants out but has anyone actually put a bid in? We could go down the route of recruiting from abroad but then that could cause problems as they adapt to the league. At least Hart has bags of experience, both domestically and in Europe. You can slate him for the Euro's but not many players came out with their reps in tact. Hart has been one of the top keepers in the prem since he joined city, there is no denying that. The whole point is to improve your squad window to window and, despite your disliking of him, he would help improve us in that position.

The preseason games and the starter stekelenburg had, he looked good, very good infact. So I believe given the chance to perform he will. If we get Hart yoy honestly think we gunna pay the 200,000 a week or whatever ridiculous money he is on for him to sit on the bench.

RK has said himself that he wants 3 keepers so there will be movement to get in another. Where does it say that he will want that sort of wage? If that's correct then he has alienated the majority of clubs that he could go to so I think that figure is wide of the mark mate.
MS may have done ok during pre-season and in the first game but can you honestly say that he has been better than Hart over the last few years? I didn't see or hear many, if any, say they wanted Stekelenburg when we all wanted a replacement for TH over the last 2 years. We need to buy a keeper who will go straight in as our new number 1 as the position is the weakest of our squad. If we do sign Hart then you should support him for what he does/ doesn't do in an Everton shirt not on what has gone on before.

Remember, up until a year or so ago he's never been challenged for the England shirt and possibly never been challenged for the man city spot. Now all this has come to light, he MAY feel he has something to prove. Remember the last Manchester keeper flop we signed. He was pretty good for 10 years for us. A year loan with an option. I'd take that (and I do agree there may be better, but would they come to us now)

18 Aug 2016 23:23:17
Begovic won't happen due to bad relations between clubs.

18 Aug 2016 23:29:37
How much adapting would a goalkeeper really need?

19 Aug 2016 00:31:40
Some may settle right away Hugo but others may take time. De Gea took a while to adapt to this league, he wasn't too familiar with less protection from our refs compared to that in Spain. So it possibly depends on where they are currently playing. It's a gamble compared to bringing in a keeper with premier league experience. Hart's won his fair share of medals since signing for city so I see that as an advantage. The rumour is he prefers a loan move which is a perfect solution, see how he gets on. It would make sense to me if we did pull this off.

Forster Bergovic Butland Marshall Stelkers All better than hart and all gettable!

19 Aug 2016 08:13:57
Sorry smeggs but forster and butland won't be moving this summer. Both have signed long term contracts recently.

A lot of my friends are city season ticket holders and they unanimously say they would be gutted to see Hart go and that he'd be a great signing for us. He has a mistake in him and those mistakes are higher profile than others as he's England and city number 1, but he is a top shot stopper.

Most importantly though he's a winner that hates to lose. He's incredibly vocal and would help boss the defence in front of him. That's exactly what we need and exactly why Joel will never be #1 in my opinion.

19 Aug 2016 08:31:47
We don't need Hart, vastly over-rated in my opinion. Silly mistakes at both Club and England level that he has never learned from do not instill me with any confidence he would improve our side. Koeman has said he needs 3 goalkeepers but he probably means to bolster the Squad.
