Well then if burnley have not conceded more than one goal in 19 and Bournemouth are no push overs guess that makes it OK for us to get beat 2-1 then. not excaly setting the bar very high from a lit of our fans is it but we did play better than them and have more chances on goal.

Agree0 Disagree1

Not at all, but to just expect us to just turn up and win games is disrespectful to the opposition and also just stupid. I expected us to beat both Burnley and Bournemouth but at Bournemouth we didn't turn up and they are a good side and against Burnley we were the better side just like City were against us and yet we didn't win. This is football and real life not FIFA 17! We are a team in transition adapting to a new way of playing a more disciplined way and it will take time, especially as there are still bad habits from the previous regime. I'm sorry I just can't fathom the constant criticism of a club you are meant to support. Even with the result at the weekend we are 6th and have only lost 2 league games oh and it's only October with 2/ 3 of the season remaining.

Having bee accused of being the "negative one", I understand how after RM came in there was a wave of optimism from some fans. Some of us were a bit more cautious and wanted to wait and see if he actually delivered. Then after his first season (presumably bassed on Moyes good defensive set up) everything seemed to be going well. The signing of Lukaku was something we never expected. But slowly as the wheels fell off we could see that our original thoughts on him were more accurate that the ones developed after that first season. However, some supporters developed almost a "head in the sand" approach and could not see we were sliding towards the Championsip. Our squad was becoming weaker all the time. I firmly believe that if Koeman had not come in, we would have made more poor signings and be struggling. These events created a divide amongst our supporters and although some (me included) can see that we are once again making progress, others are still in the negative mindset and will find it hard to see that we are making progress. Albeit slow progress. I expect this will be a season of ups and downs. I also expect that we will continue to strengthen the squad. The man from Leicester City came here for a reason! Koeman also came here for a reason. Kenright brought Moshiri for a reason. But none of it can happen overnight. During the next few seasons. with a bit of luck, we should continue climbing that table. adding one or two players each window. and yes we will lose one or two. maybe Lukaku? But Steve Walsh is here to do a job. remember that! I suspect in 2 or 3 seasons we will all be positive again. RM did a lot of damage, but it is slowly being repaired.

Well said Degsy and I was one of the posters who criticised your negativity not because you were wrong it was more the repetitiveness of the posts.

We have to be realistic in our expectations and not expect overnight success. We are building from the bottom so to speak by first laying a solid foundation with the DoF and Head Coach, rather than having a manager.
Remember this is the first time us as a club have had this, So no doubt Steve Walsh will be addressing what we can all see regarding needing a new striker and some creativity in midfield.

I'm always cautious of January signings but if we can build on the last window and bring in the type of player we need then I'm sure we will finish the season well.

Remain optimistic not pessimistic and also be realistic we are not the big drawer we used to be, but we are heading in the right direction.

I think Degsy has also highlighted a point when he mentions RM's first season relying on the defensive solidity of Moysee's team, and it shows how over time a new manager can change a teams style, I think that is relevant when of late we have let games slip where perhaps we have still not rid ourselves mentally of the RM style of play?
I have every confidence that over the season we will develop how RK wants us to play, if players cannot adapt they will go, he obviously suffers no fools as I'm sure Niasse will tell you.
