How do all these people who say would cost a fortune know? Have u asked him? He might take a massive cut to come to us, he could come to us for 4/ 5 years if he wanted and still have time left in his career to do a season or two abroad to make his retirement money, the amount ov people on here who assume things about Everton and the internal workingsbov transfers is bordering on embarrassing now no wonder ed002 gets annoyed.

It's just my opinion mate. I personally think he would take a wage cut to come back if he knows for certain his opportunities will be limited at Utd. That said, Utd would not let him go for nothing and I wouldn't want to lose out on a quality younger signing because we've blown a load on Rooney when the return on investment will be minimal.

I would prefer RK and SW to determine who they wanted to bring in. I don't really think Rooney will be in the frame but if he does arrive then he will get my support.

I agree johny89. I would go as far as to say I'd presume he would take a cut. Didn't he say a couple of years ago there is only 2 teams he would ever play for? Or was it 2 premiership teams?

Could of been paper trash or maybe it was round the time he was negotiating his contract. Come to think of it. I think it was after he signed it and said he was always going to sign a new contract with Utd. It was just tactics to get Utd to cough up.

Anyway my point is if he leaves Utd and stays in England chances are its with Everton. Can't really see him going anywhere else. Apart from abroad.

Ask any Utd supporter he isn't truely a Utd fan. Even though he's among their greatest players ever. He's a blue through and through. Even if he left. I don't hold it against him. Look at what he achieved. Last season he even attended an Everton match. He'll definitely return to the club in some capacity in the future.

Don't be so nieve. You think his wages are just for him? That wage he gets goes to a shed load of people that he also pays. How many people are going to kick 200 grand a week into touch.

His agent probably gets a percentage which no doubt he won't want to give up and Rooney would have to settle. Stop thinking things are so easy and black and white.

How many games has Rooney played so far? So do we or don't we think that he's match fit or not where as if he was playing every week he would be back to his old self.

He's played 12 games so far and has 1 goal.

More than anyone in our team.

Who said things were easy or black and white? Merely simply saying if he comes to Everton he won't get anything near £300,000 a week which he is on if I'm not mistaken. So obviously if he moves to Everton I think its pretty safe to presume he'll take a significant pay cut. Otherwise he won't be coming.

Why are people dreaming in thinking he'll still be on £15m a year? All these people you talk about that Rooney employ might just have to take a pay cut like him. Are they meant to presume that Rooney was always going to be on that kind of money?

Players move in mid contracts all the time. Can't see why this is any different. There will obviously have to be agreements all round.

If he is as bad as you say BlueJohnUns what's going to happen? For the next 2 and a half years he's going to play for Utd reserves and not even get on the first team panel? Picking up £300,000 a week? Don't think that's going to happen either.
