Now I'm not saying he would be the answer but did anybody else see Anichebe hold up play for Sunderland yesterday. He terrorised the Bournemouth centre backs and even the right back when he worked the channels. Now if only we had a big strong centre forward like that who added goals to his game. That's all that was missing from Victor was chipping in with 10+ goals a season. Considering he was on a free maybe he could have been a plan B to stop the ball coming back immediately when your lone striker lacks the ability to hold the ball up. Just feel for all his goals that's what Rom lacks is the ability to bully centre halves and make them fearful of playing against him.

Imagine the uproar if we had offered him a contract? He never had that killer instinct when he was here, he never found it at West Brom and he has scored maybe once for Sunderland. He is on a par with Kone for me, flatters to deceive.

Yes play him upfront with Niasse, that will solve all our problems.

I didn't say go put and sign him back i was merely using him as an example of what we lack in hold up play.
We have a goalscorer but he doesn't make the ball stick up front and allow the backline to push forward.
When you have a lone striker and you are on the back foot you need to stop the ball coming straight back.
That is all I was saying about Anichebe play yesterday not that I wanted him back.
When was the last time we seen Rom dominate a centre half and bully a backline with his back to goal?
This is not his attribute and he needs a player alongside him to do this. Kosman had Pelle doing this with Mane running off him and I think that was his plan with Rom and Bolasie. Thing is its not in Roms Arsenal to do that so it won't work.
One player I have liked the look of so far this season is Traore at Boro, he has pace and is direct and he tracks back too. We need a new system in midfield one that not only can create but can also stop play progressing. I liked what RK done at Saints and once he has the right personell that will be the kind of football we will be playing.

Anichebe would be a better alternative than Valencia or Kone, at least he has the ability to hold the ball up and give defenders a hard time.
