Transition -
the process or a period of changing from one state or condition to another.

None of us are happy with the way things have been going lately, performances haven't been good enough and we can't seem to buy a win right now. But we all have to be mindful that RK and his staff have only been in the job five minutes. We brought the manager in a bit late and he was immediately hampered by the Euro's, similar situation for other managers but it didn't help him assessing our squad. Walsh came in too late to make a difference and we struggled to get our transfer targets in.
We are going to need a few windows for RK/ SW to do their thing and strengthen the squad, god knows we need players who can implement the pressing game we are trying to play. Some of the current squad do not seem able to do what is required of them.
As ed25 says, football is about opinions and we should respect the views of others but it can be hard when we see posts that slate the new investor/ board or question what RK has done in his career!
Rome wasn't built in a day, as the saying goes, and if anyone really thought that we was going to have an easy passage to European competitions then they really need to reassess their expectations. Let's all have a bit of patience, let RK build the team to the way he sees fit and then we can judge. Despite the bad form we have shown, I still believe we will move forward as a club and that RK, given the time, will get it right on the pitch. Have faith boys and girls.

{Ed025's Note - good post that spud mate..

What has RK done in his career? He won 3 Dutch titles when rival clubs were falling apart, and the Copa del Rey with a decent Valencia team who had been in the Champions League when he took over and whom he left within a year of taking over with them 15th in La Liga. In a 16 year managerial career, he's left almost every club he's been at in a worse state than when he took over, the exception being Southampton. I will support him because he's the Everton manager, but not blindly, because I care more about the future of Everton than I do about any individual. It doesn't make sense simply to throw all of the blame on pretty much the whole squad, many of whom have been loyal servants to this club for years and who haven't just become rubbish en masse within a year or two (notwithstanding the damage Bobby did) . It's more than that going on and blind faith in a manager without getting the facts straight about his record won't help. I'm not saying get rid of RK of course - I don't want Everton to stoop to the level of some other clubs, and I will support him as long as I believe he has the club's best interests at heart. But he may have to adapt, by for example playing some U23s and stopping the hoofing up to an isolated Lukaku. Remember Mourinho at Chelsea last year. Their squad had just run away with the league and a few weeks later, they all looked rubbish. I don't know everything that went on, obviously, and you couldn't have argued with maureen's record at the time, but looking at how the same team is now playing again, the manager was clearly partly to blame. Maybe the players were wrong to react how they did, but just bringing a few new faces into the dressing room wouldn't have solved their problems and it won't solve ours.

Cheers ed25 and nbtb, got to be positive haven't we!

coyb, I wasn't just meaning in his managerial career but his playing years as well. I believe it's relevant as he knows how to win things, the correct attitude to instil in his players. But those players have to want to listen and learn and, sadly, it seems as though there are a few who are just not on board with his style of play/ style of management. If they haven't got the self-discipline to adapt then they need to be shown the door. I don't think it is down to the manager to adapt to the players, that is down to each individual to listen to their boss and follow his instructions. He has his way of playing the game and he picks his team accordingly. If his current players can't do what he wants then they will be replaced during the next few windows.
All said and done, the records will show his team won the title so it doesn't matter what happened to the other teams. Over the season, his team got more points so there is nothing to belittle about his achievement. I'm sure the original tinkerman wouldn't care less that Spurs imploded in the last few games, that Chelsea were awful or City didn't challenge as expected. He still had to steer his team over the line and against the odds at that.

Lol fair enough, spud. I'll shut up and try to be positive :-)

haha don't shut up coyb it's always good to discuss things and see other opinions. We are all entitled to our views mate but I would say stay positive, this is the start of a better EFC and it will take a while to get the end results FM et al all want. Bound to be blips on the road and this is just one of them!

Coyb i think at Chelsea once Maureen stopped making the PG Tips and went to Typhoo the players began to protest 😂.

I assume they've gone back to the PG this year, Bluegray? Maybe we need some investment in better teabags at Finch Farm? Give the lads a biscuit as well and the sky's the limit!
