Here's a thought. What if we did away with buying players, and instead all clubs could only sign players on one year contracts. This would do away with clubs spending fortunes for players, and players getting tied to pointless four and a half year contracts that neither the club or player stick too.
There would only be one transfer window in the summer, and this would hopefully make it a more level playing field for all teams.
I know it might have its drawbacks but thought it might make a nice change from all this transfer banter.
Ed02 this is your opportunity to tell me what an idiot I am, and why it would never work. 👍

The money would just go on paying players more money and covering the additional agents costs (since that are essentially negotiating more often) . I get the idea behind it but ffp is the way to go for me. The problem is there is a million ways around it.

I like your thinking Woburnblue. Imho the players have too much power and in today's market much o

Much of what happens is concentrated on them. What happened to concentrating on the good of the club. I know it still is but not near to the same degree imho.

In Germany players are not paid as much and the cost of going to games is more affordable. Imho the German way is the way to go and would be good for the game.

The way China is going is silly. Absolutely crazy money involved. Shouldn't be aloud imho.

Bring back club power!

Remember NBTB what the prem league was like in its infancy, lots of homegrown players with some big names from Europe and the rest of the world who were signed in the latter years of their careers for big money.
Slowly but surely more were signed and younger and younger they got. The birth of the greatest league in the world, and China could well end up the same.

My thoughts exactly Smit666. Germany seem more club focused to me. Their national team don't suffer. They are among the best at most tournaments.

The only way the Chinese league would outgrow the prem is if sky pulled its money out and put into China instead. Nothing will match the premier league until something as drastic as that happens. Or dare I mention a European super league.

Well you've convinced me guys, let's do what Germany do. The other plus they have is standing areas in there grounds. Must admit I do miss that, and standing behind your seat just isn't the same.

China or any other league will never match ours. I've mentioned this before but the reason the EPL gets all the money is because it's like a soap opera with tons of history.

There is hatred, jealousy, inspiration, heartache and much more that other leagues just can't replicate. It's why we are so addicted and the rest of the world tune into every match to get a piece of the action.

Nothing to do with the best managers or players. It's because we have the football version of Coronation Street!
