Can anyone help with my question s below?
I am attending the Sunderland game with my daughter. She is travelling up from London by train to Lime Street. I need to get from North Yorkshire somehow so I can meet her at the station before we both then travel up to Goodison.
Train costs from where I live are exorbitant and take forever so I thought I would drive most of the way and then get a train into Lime Street.
Does anyone have any suggestions about
1. Best place to drive to to catch train ( I had thought maybe Warrington? )
2. How long is it likely to take us to get back to Lime Street after the game (I need to have some idea of time to book train from Lime Street)
Thanks in advance for your help.

Try getting a train ticket to Leeds, then separate one to Liverpool as it's often cheaper.
Look at Merseyrail map if you're driving and pick a station on outskirts to park. They all go into town. If you allow just over an hour after game can't see it being a problem getting back to Lime St.

Have you looked to see if their is a Yorkshire supporters club who travel down by coach? If not check National Express service 060 from Leeds to Liverpool.

If you want to drive, park and get a train in, then I would consider somewhere like Blundellsands or Hall Road. Should be free street parking. Nice areas where you car will be as safe as it is possible.
