People still picking faults in Everton's an lukaku game today. We never played that well won 4-0. Clean sheet an 3 points.

Lukaku never played that well this that an the other but got 2 goals
And an assist.

I'd take that every game of the week. I certain striker like Ruhr Van Nistlerooy comes to mind for that sort of performance.

He is the first forgien striker to get to 80 prem goal before the age of 24 (Rooney owen Folwer) sorry for swearing there Ed.

However, he is the leading goal Scorer In the premier league an first striker to score 20 or more on a season since linekar.

Is right Rom,

I told yas the other day he would score 2.

COYB.

I keep saying this. he has scored more than any other player by the age of 23 in top flight football. His attitude was a bit suspect a while back but Koeman seems to have got him fitter with a much better attitude. His strength and skill have never been in doubt.

Thing is, without the sending off we would never have won that game 4-0 and were in danger of conceding as we were far too deep and allowed Hull far too much space and time and against better sides, like our next 2 games we will concede a few and lose these games. So yes regardless of the score line the performance was average at best and we cannot afford to play like that in our next 3 games as we won't collect any points.
On the criticism of Lukaku, this stems from his disrespect of the club by using the media to belittle the club who have given him the chance to progress, yes he is a goalscorer, but he is far from the finished article and has time on his side to improve, yesterday he was bullied by Maguire and was caught offside far too often, his reading of the line leaves a lot to be desired, and that includes coming back into an onside position to give us an outball when we dispossess the opposition in our half.
The pundits that blow his trumpet Week on Week on Sky and MOTD must only see his goals and not his all round game.
So yes I feel as a paying supporter who loves my club, I am entitled to criticise a performance and also a player who has got a bit to big for his boots.
Ross Barkley would be more of a loss as he has just got his head down kept quiet and really improved his game, also Ashley Williams was poor yesterday and against better forwards would have been punished for his constant mistakes, maybe it's time to drop him and bring Holgate in alongside Jags.
On the plus side as I don't want to come across as completely negative, 7 goals and 2 clean sheets when playing average is a big improvement then what we have had for the last 3 years so I am happy with the progress.

{Ed025's Note - i dont think your timing is very good to be honest gray, the best record in the prem this year, just won 4-0, and have the leagues top scorer...not really much to moan about there for me mate..

Bluegray87, Look at my post above about last 10 games. won 7 drew 2 lost 1. And you are complaining mate? A couple of points I would like to make are that this "turnaround" has happened in the first 9 months of our new manager. Even Chelsea ground out a result yesterday. no team plays brilliant each week. What Lukaku is doing is trying to get the best deal he can. maybe at Everton, maybe elsewhere. It is what happens in football. Finally, you can look at things a in a positive way or a negative way. Last season I was caught up in all the negative things about our club. and there were a lot of them. However, I have seen we are now at last making progress again. like we were prior to Martinez. And I am frankly enjoying being an Evertonian once again. I accept that you are aloowed to criticise certain aspects and I agree with some of your points. but I suggest you look at the wider picture of 7 wins and 2 draws out of 10. Added to which consecutive home wins of 4 nil,3 nil and 4 nil. look at our goal difference and enjoy the ride. Enjoy being an Evertonian. that is something that is difficult at times. but not now!

{Ed025's Note - im with you all the way degs mate..

OK maybe my timing is not right and of course I am happy with the recent turnaround at the club, I was just saying that we need to up our game now against much better sides to really be considered as serious challengers to the top 4, beat Liverpool and we are 2 points off them if city beat them today.

Even though I don't agreed with the timing of what Lukaku said last week. Picking faults with his game to me is very petty. Everton for the first time in the Premier history have a player who scored more than 20 goals he must be doing something right. I have been a supporter for 48 years and yet to see a perfect footballer
I was made up with the crowd getting behind Lukaku and the team.
I do believed that footballer are not forever they will come and go. The trick is enjoy the ride or spell . I for one will support Lukaku while he wear the Blue shirt. Finally I believed there an outside chance of us getting in the top 4 this season on current form. COYB.

I know much is being made that Hull went down to 10 men but you still need to close out those games, under Martinez we may have conceded when they were down to 10, you need to beat what is in front of you and I always think at this time of year relegation threatened teams are more dangerous.

I wasnt trying to be too critical Bluegray. just sometimes we all suffered so much as Evertonians that it is easy to not realise the club has indeed turned a corner and once again we are going in the right direction. Maybe Koeman will go? Maybe Lukaku will go? We could end up with a refreshed Arsen Wenger who puts a team together that goes unbeaten all season? We could end up with some awful manager and never replace Lukau. but. and heres the crunch. right now, Lukaku is our player and has great stats. We have a bunch of youngsters showing real promise. We have a great last 10 games and even maybe a new stadium? We have Steve Walsh unearthing gems like Calvert-Lewin, Gana and Lookman. We have Barkley and Davies as home grown incredible talent. We have the reds assembled at about 5 times the cost of our squad and not much difference in current abilities. They look like they are on the way down and we are on the way up. Enjoy being Blue for the moment, that's my tip.
