What does everyone think of Loftus-cheek at Chelsea? . He won't be there next season so we should look to sign him imo.
Haven't got a clue if they would even sell or would favour a loan but for me he would be a great replacement for Barkley if he goes. I would sign him regardless of the Barkley situation as he's wasted at Chelsea.

To be fair, while I agree that we need proven players I think we do need to keep buying promising young players in all the time. I wouldn't want him as a player for the first 11 but if the club thought they can bring him in as a squad player and develop him into a starting (of even just a key squad) player than I'm all for it.

Don't think he's wasted as such, just don't think he's as good as people think he is. Or maybe he needs a loan and a full season playing. At a prem club definitely but mid-lower teams. Teams such as yourselves surely should be targeting Europe every season now?

I think Loftus-Cheek has the potential to be a quality player with playing time - but I agree with CFCAdam that he probably isn't good enough for us yet. I see him joining lower Prem team for a season (Brighton? ) .
A player in a similar position that could be a very good squad signing for us would be Chalobah. With McCarthy and Besic maybe moving on and Barry now past it, I think he could be a really good option for back-up to Morgan, Gueye and Davies.

You can have too many promising young players, as is the case with Chelsea. Every squad needs balance, and I think we actually need more experienced players who are used to beating top four teams which we find impossible to do away from home. So until we get these players it's going to be hard to change that. That's why we need Rooney and a few others who can help us get over this hurdle.
I'm all for younger players but balance first.
