Hi guys,
Just been looking at the impact Lukaku's goals had on our season, this doesn't include his assits
In the 10 games we drew last year he scored a goal in 2 of them saving us 2 points
in the games we won we would have lost 1 drew 2 saving us a further 7 pts
this is very a very simplistic way of looking at the way his goals affected the results and as I said doesn't include his assists but on the whole his goals might not be as difficult to replace as it looks on paper.

Agree4 Disagree0

Without his goals we would have still finished seventh, seen this stat a few weeks ago.

Without his goals then we would have been without him and would have had someone else in his place. How many they would have scored and what effect they would have had on the points total would be anyones guess, but what we are certain of is we will find out this season.

May have finished higher than 7th with a different striker netting in the close games.

The dynamics seem different without Lukaku and don't look focused on an individual.

Whether it will be more successful we'll see but I prefer the burden shared around the squad rather than 1 or 2.

Got to remember that when he takes a chance at 0-0 v city puts us 1up with a fantastic first time finish puts you in the way to the win, it may not be the winning goal but vital in the end result and the game taking shape, stats stats stats, too much of it analysed, let's be be bigger and better than RL and move on, he's got clear weaknesses and is a great goalscorer, how good he becomes is no longer an interest to me, I'm interested in Rooney, Sandro, Klaasen etc and giving them. my full support.

{Ed025's Note - me too mate..

Don't get bogged down with stats like that as I don't for one minute believe that if Lukaku was not there last season we would of finished 7th, I know stats don't lie but it's just coincidence that his 24 goals did not have same impact as Kane's, you only look at that now he has left. He's gone and we're moving forward and we don't have to play a game that are to Lukaku strengths, Sandro will be a right handful bit like costa is he will run and stretch defenders so I think we will play very different to what we have seen for while.
