Now let me see, played five this pre-season, won four and drew one. scored eight and let in two. Lots of new players to integrate into the team. Promise of more new recruits to come. What is the problem?

This incessant complaining about pre season results is embarrassing. Results don't matter. Fitness and continuity is all that matters. It doesn't matter if it's Man United or Cambridge United. If we lost or if we won. All that matters is that we are fit enough to beat Stoke and those who we meet in the Europa play offs.

The point I was making is that the team has done well considering the large integration of new players regardless of the quality of the opposition. Wining is important from a moral viewpoint and they have done that. Yes we need to Improve but that will come with time as fitness and communication get better.

And it's a point well made Mike. I just can't get my head around the criticism of the opposition. Don't they know that pre season lack of sharpness is an equaliser for the weeker teams. Can't wait for the season to start next week so that all this can be put to one side and the real stuff can be "Bantered".

As an arguement 2 games were not pre season friendlies but euro qualifiers.

Not sure who you are arguing with wakka. I said in the original post that they were "pre-season". No mention of "friendlies".

2 of our "pre season" games were not pre season games, they were full fixtures against a side whose season started a while back and so are in far better condition than us. Add to that it was their World Cup final playing us and I think we did a very professional job on them.
