I'm not being negative - honest - but I have to ask.
Bill Kenwright said in May, "If there is a player who wants to play for Everton Football Club who Ronald wants, who Steve wants, we will get them for you. It's fantastic for me to be able to say that. "
So, what's holding up the signing of Gylfi Sigurdsson?
RK reportedly wants him, so has SW vetoed it. surely not?
Every other transfer our club has done this summer has appeared to be sorted out quite straightforwardly once serious negotiations were undertaken, so - if RK and SW want Sigurdsson and the player (reportedly) wants to come - the only other issue must be our board's concerns about the financial aspects - which seems to contradict what BK asserted just a few months back AND doesn't tie in with what several people knowledgable about FFP, profitability and sustainability, and short term cost control regulations have said regarding the club's improved finances (e. g. debt reduction, improved sponsorship income, etc. ) since Mr Moshiri arrived.
As I said, I'm not being negative, just curious.

{Ed025's Note - its just the swans playing silly buggers bobby, it will all be sorted very soon mate..

Ed025: how is it them playing SBs? They don't want - or have to sell - so it's up to Everton to make them an acceptable offer. Either we can do that or we are the ones trying it on with some brinkmanship for whatever reason!

{Ed025's Note - they want him to stay bobby fearing a supporter backlash and are making it difficult to save face mate..

Ed025: so they should never have let it be known that he'd be available for £50M - unless that's media speculation. We are also playing SBs by letting our interest (and unaccepted bids) be common knowledge, but not calling their bluff by offering the £50M. Compared to our other transfer business this summer, this deal is getting bogged down on all sides. What's the betting we don't agree the fee soon and they simply refuse a late (deadline day? ) deal and we (and the player) are left frustrated?

{Ed025's Note - hopefully it wont come to that mate..

They will give in when the monies right but can't wait to late to spend the Monet on replacements!

It seems pretty clear that for now we're not willing to spend £50M on this player, but it's unclear why we're not or who has made that decision.

Ever heard of the saying 'All your eggs in one basket' maybe just maybe we have other irons in the fire at a more sensible price, and with agents being in cohoots with several clubs we could be using this interest as a bit of a scaremongering tactic to get the deal we want and not what Swansea want, remember they have sold players that were idolised by fans before, Bony being the latest, this deal is not about just paying what they want its more a case of calling the bluff or just waiting for the player to force the move.
