Much has been written about the need for a striker, the need for a new manager, the need for a new stadium to generate more income BUT as a ex senior manager who looked at " fire fighting " in organizations if I was to assess our club they would score very poorly .
The board are to blame at the end of the day for the position we find ourselves in .
You can sack the manager ( he did make some deadfall decisions ) but who employed him in the first place!
Who sold our biggest asset without a replacement.
Who viewed Kirby and Walton Hall Park as viable sites for a new ground .
Who turned away investors from Middle East .
These are some of the so called bigger issues but coupled to indecision, split in board views, looking at issues through blue tinted specs rather than as a business person, lack of planning ( sacking a manager with apparently no man to take over NOW!
would ensure that if they were a new venture setting out they would not get past the first base .
I really would love to be a fly on the wall at a Everton board meeting, but on reflection it would finnish me off because it would be a cross between a meeting of Capt Manwairing and corporal Jones (Dads Army) and Yes Prime minister .
So yes we need the new manager ( God knows when ) and a striker but it's THE BOARD were the root cause lies 100%.

You all know my take on this. The obstacles are BK and his right hand man, and have been for years. Before you all have a go at me, I have supported this great Club since the age of 8 (1958) and know full well the value of Bill Kenwright in saving us from the xmas package industry. But the last few years Bill, god love him has worn his heart on his sleeve and taken eye off the ball, he needs to let go off his baby and/ or take an honoury role. As for the other guy, it appears that it is all fluff and air. Like Trebor I have experience.

{Ed025's Note - i honestly dont know what you expect of the board dunc?, they have appointed 2 well regarded managers who although it never worked out for us were choices the supporters wanted, they have also especially this season ploughed in a lot of money into the club not only on players but wage increases and agents fees etc, i know you will say a lot was recouped on the lukaku sale but there was more money there if the manager wanted it, another gripe is that we let rom go without a suitable replacement and thats true, but you cant keep a player who does not want to be at the club and would you want to anyway?, im quite happy that our chairman is a supporter and wears his heart on his sleeve myself mate and moshiri is still growing into his role and doing fine by me, people are looking for excuses as to why we are performing so poorly and i get that, i think the players themselves are the ones who need to look in the mirror imo..

Agree 100% mate, the Middle East was a good offer for us but they would not let BK stay, (if you sell something you still carn't play with it) Bill&Co have to GO.

(wears his heart on his sleeve) we all do mate but we spend money on our club not make it? as I have said lots of times here, you see actor Bill? when you go into Bills office its all pictures about his plays/ acting but no football, if you new him, his plays/ acting is his first love, and money, lol.

Great post that ed. Agree 100%.

09 Nov 2017 13:21:36
i'm inclined to agree with you ed, but it was stupidity to let rom go without a replacement. as i've said already the giroud saga means damn all, as my dad use to say it's a bad mouse that depends on the one hole. look at the saga going on now with the manager situation.
big sam one minute, then simeone, rhino, dyche, silva, uncle tom cobley. newspapers, sorry ed, rags, having a field day. so called pundits having a good laugh at our expence over simeone.
what makes it worse is the expectations we all had at the start of the season and to see where we are now. so i see where trebor and bigdunc are coming from, it's not all down to the manager and players. the buck must stop at the top.

{Ed025's Note - i can see that leinster but im happy about them considering all options if it means getting the right man, the press is the press and as we know they will make up stories to sell papers and the truth has very little to do with it mate..

I have for once to disagree with you ed 025
Many fans like myself did not want Koeman because doing my homework he does not have a good record .
I think too much was more about him as a player .
Nobody can argue that getting rid of Lukaku as we did was nothing short of total incompetence.
Liverpool refuses to let Coutinho go and Arsenal Sanchez and they had far better attacker’s than us .
I agree they needed to remove Koeman and some of his antics like the way he treated Naisse should have been dealt with sooner .
The problem is they do not seem to have a replacement.
West Ham sacked their manager and replaced him immediately, and no I did not want Moyes .
It’s personal opinion in the end Ed 025 but I really was surprised at you defending the board given the mistakes they have made .
There has to be a root mayjor problem at Everton .
Not winning a trophy since 1995 says it all .
I not saying Kenwright to blame or Elstone to blame but collectively they have to accept responsibility.

{Ed025's Note - if we all agreed on everything trebor it would be a boring old world my friend, the facts with lukaku is that he wanted out and had an agreement that he would give us one more season (16/17) then would be allowed to go, we received top dollar and we got rid of a player who did not want to play for us so it made good sense, both coutinho and sanchez will be off as well as its a fact of life in the game today mate, dont get me wrong mistakes have been made but i just dont think that it should all be laid at the chairmans door even though they say the buck stops at the top, we need to regroup as a club and move forward together and stop playing the blame game imo, though i think there is nothing wrong with discussing it on forums such as this and having different views is healthy..

Certain amount of irony here, BK should go because he wears blue tinted glasses, yet 99% of all the posts on here are biased towards Everton due to us ALL wearing the same glasses as BK. pot, kettle and all that stuff.

Leinster my dad used to say a mouse can only go through one hole at a time regardless of how many he has.

09 Nov 2017 16:21:54
know what you're saying grumpy but still handy to have more than one
going for giroud and not having a plan b was madness, a bit matinezesque if you like.

Some poster just love to tell people how much they are right but fail to mention how bloody wrong they sometimes too.

I put myself in the good supporter category. I didn't watch Robbie but when we took him on I backed him every step of the way. When he was sacked I wanted him gone but I respected what he tried to do.

The same goes for Koeman. He was brilliant last season and at home from January it was the best I'd seen us play at home since the mid 80s. We had scored more goals than anyone else at home with the exception of Barca. This season he lost the players and maybe bought into his own ego too much. Again I'm sad to see him go because he showed what he could do.

The Chairman has been amazing for us and is the reason we still have a club to support. Additionally, he got us the right investment and things still look good. The only thing wrong this season is the results and performances on the pitch.

If anyone does their homework they would understand that football and business if a fragile game and Bill hasn't been at the club for 6 months done a patch up job and buggered off. He has been there to oversea a turnover increase of £30mil a year to one reaching £200mil a year and been a mainstay in one of the most demanding and challenging environments you could run a business in.

Anyone worth their salt in business would understand that the job he has done is quite remarkable.

As for bad decisions every company makes them all the time. Bill and the board though at least haven't made catastrophic ones that would require a 'fire fighter'.

We are getting a new manager. Now is time for calm, reflection and patience. Not hysteria and finger pointing. That's the sound of a bad business man who is out of his depth.

Good post BJU 100 % agree mate.

Good post BlueJohnUns.

10 Nov 2017 14:44:04
Obviously I disagree Blue John Uns but as Ed 025 said be boring if we all said same .
All I would say is we do dither and while many would say best not to rush re manager and I accept that but do you not think it would be a good idea to have some stability by issuing a statement saying “ we have every confidence in DU and he is going to be in charge . ( nobody needs to know the type or length of his contact )
By carrying on in limbo is not good for him, players or fans
We have a exceptionally important game against Palace and be good to have the matter resolved
What you think Blue Johnuns?
