why oh why do everton always take so long to do something. it can't be so they can get the best man, just look at the managers and players signed and missed. get your finger out and get on with it. another week of new training missed. i suppose the new stadium will be finalised in 2030.

yes i am feeling negative, like most fans. i was negative with koeman appointment as well and got the negative (your not a true everton fan bullcrap) . if we want to move forward and on to the top 4/ 6 then we need a manager that can attract top players (simone, benitez, ancelotti) . allardyce, dyche just going back to the moyes days. not knocking moyes because he done a superb job with next to no money. NIL SATIS NISI OPTIMUM which we are not getting from the players.

I take Dazzas view. We need to be careful but also need someone appointed so that he has time to at least get a few days training in prior to our next game. Good forward planning usually leads to a good outcome.

Appointing a worse manager than might later be available, just so we can be well-prepared for the next game, is the total opposite of â€good forward planningâ€.

Sorry mate. I can see that might have come across as a bit snarky. I appreciate there's also a need to ensure that we don't sacrifice our reputation, such as it is, and certainly not our survival in the league, under the guise of long-term planning. I think we need to be realistic though. There isn't anyone available right now who could take us forward significantly. I think Dyche could do a job but most of our squad are almost the opposite of the sorry of players he likes to work with, so it is a risk. Waiting till the end of the season seems sensible if we're confident we can get someone special at that time.
