Number 1 has to be Simeone, don't care if it's unrealistic, don't ask you don't get. I didn't think Liverpool could get Klopp because he was desperate for the Bayern Munich job and wanted the Man Utd job but Liverpool got him. If not Simeone then Emery, then you keep going down the list, not up the list, start with the best and if you can't get the best then get the second best and if you can't get the second best you get the 3rd best and so on. Can't have a small club mentality.

{Ed001's Note - to point out you are incorrect, Klopp wanted the Liverpool job, rejected United and never wanted the Bayern job. He has said both publically and privately that it would be impossible for him to take the Bayern job as it would be a betrayal of Dortmund. Klopp always wanted the Liverpool job, I know people who grew up playing with him and doing coaching courses with him and he always wanted the LFC job even back when he was starting out.

As for Simeone, I am not sure it is that unrealistic. He is busy learning English, wants to manage in England and there are not many options open to him. Things in Madrid are not good at this time, he has hit a wall and can't really take them any further. I don't see why Everton couldn't get Simeone.}

Very interesting comments about Simeone Ed001. If it is feasible I don't see it happening until next summer, in which case we would need a short-term appointment until then with someone like Unsworth or Allardyce. What do you think?
Mike.

{Ed001's Note - if that was the case, I agree, though I am not sure the club would be willing to wait due to the prospect of relegation. I really believe Simeone just needs the right club, somewhere that has ambition and the kind of togetherness that Everton has with its fans as well.}

Thanks Ed001, let's hope it happens, it it does it will be exciting times.

{Ed001's Note - you are very welcome mate.}

I agree go all out for compensation, read some where today that we were willing to pay 8.5m for someone that has not done anything yet, Dyche is a better bet and I think he has earned the right to a bigger job if you ask me the guy has got Burnley 19pts already and played some tough games already.

Fair enough Ed I remember seeing something either he wanted the Bayern job to replace Guardiola or they wanted him to replace Guardiola, either way the point still stands that I didn’t think Liverpool could get him but they showed ambition and did and we need to show the same

You’re very right in regards to the feel of the club, he’d be loved here, I think it’s a great fit and not just because I want him as manager :)

You recently spoke about Emery’s issues with Neymar and I know another ed mentioned Silva in regards to his coaching and stuff, have you heard anything negative about Simeone such as his coaching, managing etc.

{Ed001's Note - only in terms of him being very intense, which requires the players to buy into it. The players do love him though, so it is not really a negative. Maybe some people would say his style of play was a negative, as it is not as technical as the Barcas or Real Madrids, but I don't think that is such a bad thing. To be honest, Simeone seems to be very well liked inside the club, worshipped even.}

How can anyone pick Dyche over Simeone? Dyche is a good manager and I would have him before pretty much all the favourites at the moment.

But Simeone is world class. I worship him for the work he has done already. If he came to Everton it would be enormous. Imho he's better than Mourinho, Pep, Ancelotti or anyone. Well worth the £8.5m imho.

Cheers ed

Would be brilliant to have him.
