Everton banter 41205

Use our rumours form to send us everton transfer rumours.

I think we have the strangest supporters any club could have regards posts on these forums.

Before Christmas most of you were asking for sweeping changes in the squad and the general consensus was to get rid of our players and start over.

To that end we have got rid of 2 players, 1 sold and the other loaned, who have only managed 5 appearances this season ( 3 as substitutes included in that 5 ) Neither player has been pivotal in our season yet a lot of posters seem to be hard done by.

Mirallas has gone back to Olympiakos on loan with no option to buy at the end of it, I would imagine Everton will be watching him very closely as he gets regular first team football to see if he gets his edge back, because he his capable of some decent football at times and needs to rekindle his passion and be a lot more consistent if he wants to regain his Everton spot.

Now Barkley, hasn't kicked a ball for us this season. We all knew last summer he was going to leave and that it will be either Tottenham or Chelsea where he would end up. Tottenham ruled themselves out at the beginning of this transfer window so that leaves Chelsea as the only club interested in him. That rather limits his choices in where he should go. This is where the conspiracy merchants step in, accusing both Barkley and Chelsea of hatching a plan to split the £20m difference in purchase price between them. Why not just let his contract run out and split the £35m if true?

Do people really believe that both Chelsea and Barkley would do this for whar are really paltry amounts in todays game? What are the repercussions if it comes to light? Chelsea would be risking a ban on buying any player for a number of seasons, goodbye to champions league for them as well, Barkley would risk a potential lifetime ban on playing football for a paltry £10m.

I will be more than happy to call him whatever name anyone wished me to call him on a proviso of one condition, that being, Tell me the name of the person who brokered this alleged deal for Chelsea, or to make it easier just give me proof that this conspiracy is indeed true, not too much to ask, or is it?

Posters on here are moaning about why it takes us so long yet other teams only take a day usually in the same breath those same posters complain about us not releasing info fast enough for them, maybe if we did not release any info until after the deal has been done ( like many other clubs) that will appease most of you. That player leaving those across the park from us for £143m will not be signing his new contract with Barcelona for another 48 hours. Once things have been agreed between clubs and then clubs and new players contract, that are acceptable to both sides, need to be drafted up for perusal then drawn up for signing. That takes time.

Good post mate.

Just thought I would have my weekly moan GB mate, no harm meant to anyone.

good post but have to disagree reg Barkley I personally feel they both agreed to wait til Jan as he had a injury that way Chelsea save money and Barkley gets a higher signing on fee and gets to recuparite at home and Everton footing the medical bill they haven't done anything illegal but it's a shi#tty thing to do to the club your supposed to love.

{Ed002's Note - Nonsense Bluey. It is the Merseyside Paranoia kicking in.}

Grumpy never let the truth get in the way of a good story especially if it’s a conspiracy story 😂
Barkley is gone and good luck to him as is Mirallas so let’s concentrate on the players we have or will bring in. And get behind the team to push as high up the league as we can.

07 Jan 2018 15:23:49
agree with Ed 002 on that one.

07 Jan 2018 15:26:39
Agree Grumpy at least you say it as it is on the tin mate and not with a forked tongue, keep em comin mate.

07 Jan 2018 15:39:46
Imagine the uproar if we paid £25+ million for Tuson and then he had major surgery on his hamstring so wasn’t available to play for 6months. But some of our fans wanted Chelsea to do that in August and because they didn’t it’s Barkley’s fault. You couldn’t make this stuff up.

Bluey it is called business, even billionaires watch the pennies, how do you think they became billionaires in the first place. No conspiracies but lots of conspiracy theories LOL.

07 Jan 2018 15:43:08
Exactly mate hit the nail on the head lol.

07 Jan 2018 16:01:58
Wasn't Tosun the 2nd or 3rd player signed by a prem team in January? By the 5th of Jan as well. Not too shabby really.

07 Jan 2018 16:13:22
You tell em Smit mate.

07 Jan 2018 17:53:14
I agree with all the posts above with one exception. We will have to agree to disagree on this conspiracy theory Bluey mate.

Damn I'm being nice today, such a strange feeling :-)

07 Jan 2018 18:07:56
ha ha Grumpy just how it looks and from a Chelsea point of view it makes perfect business sense why buy a player who can't play leave him where he is then buy him at a cheaper price we would do the same thing but it hurts as I hoped he would stay and ED02 not paranoia it's just how it looks that's all.

{Ed002's Note - It is actually a conspiracy against the Merseyside clubs Bluey?}

07 Jan 2018 20:20:28
Well you've convinced me ED002 thanks for the clarification :-)

07 Jan 2018 21:58:40
😂😂 ED02 I'm glad you have noticed that as I was about to leave me missus and kids and sit in a dark room trawling the internet regarding conspiracies against merseyside.

08 Jan 2018 11:11:09
Good post as usual Grumpy. What do you think of our current form?

08 Jan 2018 14:23:39
Personally Ducks mate I was more than happy with the display they gave against Liverpool, I know there is still a lot to do but I feel the team is progressing in the right direction.

Our main problem as I see it is consistency, without that our good games are quickly forgotten. Sam still has some tweaking to do but needs to be very careful how he goes about it, our team at the moment is very fragile and too many new faces could have an adverse effect on them. I have no doubt what's so ever that Sam is starting to build for next season and as such will attract a couple of decent additions in the summer window. The thing to remember here is that small steps are still steps.

If we continue to play as we played against Liverpool and we can utilise Tosun to his full capabilities then we may surprise a few people for the remainder of the season. I am in no doubt we have improved but as I have said we are far from the finished article and it will take the summer window to get us near to where we want to be.

I think that's the fairest I can be Ducks mate.
