Before you lot say it, yes I am becoming an old moaner (probably bored with the pipe and slippers) , but as such it gives me time to read the latest updates on what our illustrious Club is up to and being nosey what those Clubs we would like to be up with and have about the same financial (nowadays) clout as us. This morning I read that Spurs are close to paying 21.9 mill for Lucas Moura (25) from PSG. Compare that to us paying 20 Mill (plus) for Walcott and I have to ask, are we really ambitious or happy to potter along in mid-table for now with no greater aim than to finish top 6. There are examples of the Moura/ Walcott happening all around us. Perhaps there is more going on behind the scenes, but so far it is not obvious to us fans.

{Ed025's Note - a lot of us are disillusioned at this time DFS, the light at the end of the tunnel has been switched off and top 6 seems a long way away, we just have to hang in there mate and hope that things improve..

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes that's the type of player we should be looking at but I do feel that sadly we are geographically hampered unfortunately Liverpool will not have the same pull as London to foreign players and that will be a factor with so called premium players from abroad so even if we offer exactly the sane deal as a Tottenham we are going to struggle against them for signing players yes we all love Everton and would kill to have the chance to be in a position to play for the blues but to most of the players it's a job and that's it they have no emotional attachment and will go for what is best for there families and egos.

{Ed002's Note - Moura would not move to a club like Everton I am afraid. To offer the same as Spurs Everton would be able to offer Champions League this season to him (obviously they can't) and European football next season (which realistically is only a slim possibility. It is nothing to do with egos or families.}

With the greatest respect DFS, spurs are in a better bargaining position than us. Champs league is a big pull for players. What we have to do is buy the best of the rest and get a manager and team that are going to progress the players we have and bring through a sprinkling of young talent. It will take time by that is what Moshiri needs to do if we are to emulate what spurs have done.

Agree mate, but a lot off the lads here are happy with the clubs management? (no ambition) but its more like top 10 now, we have to sell before we buy, sad days for our club when players want to leave. Ken&Co have to Go.

Now this may sound daft but please stay with me on this.

We all say the manager sees players in training so should know more than us supporters, well he watches Williams and Schnids, and Martina and thinks they have something, yet when they play they look clueless.

Now on this basis, who’s to say the likes of Garbutt, Beni Beningame and the like may not look as good on the training pitch but put on a football field, could actually be much better, the perfect example could be Niasse who might not pull up trees on the training pitch, but when called upon, he seems to do it on the pitch.

I really believe if we play a natural left footed player Garbutt, a ball winning and good passer Beni and Holgate in his preferred Centre half, those tweets could go a long way to balancing the team and give us a better chance going forward, the previous is not working so why not give those three a try out, in their natural positions.

Big Sam has said it himself Bazwil but hasn't stuck to his "back to basics and get everyone doing what they are good at" philosophy. And that is why I am losing patience with him.
Siggy is a 10 so should be played as a 10, Schneiderlin is Dcm so is Gana, only one can play at once. Rotate either with some energy. I. e. Baningime or Davies or experience, Rooney.
Garbutt is a LB so for me, he has to play at LB.
Too many players out of position or form, in every game we play.

I certainly agree with Ed002 and his straight to the point comments. My conjecture is more the thought of I wonder if our Club even tries. I am in my retirement comfortable, partly through hard work and luck and thankfully my kids are heading the same way. All thanks to a philosophy of good forward planning and an attitude of if you don't ask you will not get and 100 percent certainty that you will not learn how or know what to do (to get) .
