As much as I like the idea of getting someone like Fonseca as our next manager. I can't help feeling if he was a success he would get snapped up by the Spanish boys, or dare I say it, one of those in the top four.
Given that I can see why Eddie Howe would look a better option for the long term. Could easily see him doing a Moyes type tenure. Which long term could be exactly what the club needs.
Probably worth mentioning that he does have Premiership experience too.

Agree2 Disagree2

If Fonseca got us in the CL in two or three years then got snapped up by Barcelona or whoever, I could live with that mate. Then when we get a higher profile we might be able to attract a top manager who want to stay long term.

I don’t want a Moyes Everton again. I know it’s better than now but it’s still limited. We need an experienced DOF and a manager who will not fear playing against the top 4.

Well said mate.

27 Feb 2018 18:13:34
If we did get him in and, after a few years, he gets targeted by the big clubs like Barcelona then surely that is a good thing for us? Mainly because it would mean he is doing something right and that we would have benefited as a club. It would also mean his replacement would have a better platform to build on than what we currently have. But, let's be honest, it was only a few years ago that RM was touted as a manager for the likes of Arsenal and Barcelona and look how that turned out!

WB, why would any top manager take the poison chalice that is Everton FC, since 1987 we have been extremely poor bar one season, the only man we'll get is someone with the same mindset as Koeman. we are a stepping stone, we haven't been a top club since we sold our crown jewels after 1987. just wish you dreamers would get your heads around this. get real, there's a great big Red Shadow over Everton, and we will never catch up, financially attractiveness for players or anything else Morishi is a sad dream.

27 Feb 2018 18:34:47
Game of opinions mate and I don't agree with yours, how you can say Mr Moshiri is a sad dream is beyond me.

27 Feb 2018 18:41:53
SM believe it or not there are good managers out there looking for a challenge. As for the Moyes anallergy, I was using it as an example of how it brings stability to the club. I was not asking for another Moyes. Get your head out your backsides and consider what is being said before giving a negative answer.
By the way we are not a poison chalice, we are a club with massive potential, and the finance to back it. Makes us a very attractive propersition.

You are right Woburn mate we are attractive, why are we getting this toxic stuff again from some posters it has no place on here.

15 years ago City fans may of thought like you Smokes.

Football is a funny old game. The top 6 is not a smoke dream and success could be just around the corner. We as a club must learn from our mistakes but I back them to do it.

27 Feb 2018 19:32:39
So do I mate.

27 Feb 2018 19:41:15
I bet it's a right laugh round yours at Xmas smokeandmirrors.

27 Feb 2018 19:45:13
BJU guess what?

I agree with you lol.

27 Feb 2018 21:45:02
😂😁 we agree on loads of things Grumpy. The biggest thing? Hope and vision for our great club😉.

27 Feb 2018 22:21:27
You're right mate, you're right.

27 Feb 2018 22:47:54
We need an experienced knowledgable football person as DoF and that would be Hoddle but as others have mentioned he has other irons in the fire at the moment. That said and as I have mentioned before, Moshri could do far worse than to throw some cash Hoddles way as a consultant.
