Good article in the Echo on RK.
Obviously not going to get into it as it's water under the bridge and he was never liked cos he is Mr Barcelona. I do agree he would have been much the better manager because of this season. And I think he would have had us on par with our current position. Just we wouldn't have the headache of cutting out B.S. reign.

I'm sure the stoke result today will divide posters on one side or other for this post.

Agree1 Disagree1

Interesting view Myteam. I think I am in the middle with my views but feel a bit sorry for Sam Allergy. He does shoot himself in the foot with comments. He also talks about himself too much. However, Koeman's main problem was the last transfer window. I suspect Walsh was partly to blame as well. When we "cashed in" on Lukaku and lost Barkley for next to nothing, we should have had ready made replacements lined up. We should also have had cover lined up for both full back positions. Added to which a center half was needed. I had many discussions and got berated for forecasting this under Martinez's reign. I had suggested that our ageing squad was not being reinforced with the right age group and quality of players. People accused me of going on about Moyes when in fact I was suggesting that our squad was becoming weaker and lacking players in their peak. ie aged 23 - 29. We were relying on players below and above that age group. A club can have a couple of players outside that age but when you are relying on so many youngsters and older players, confidence can easily drop with the youngsters and injuries can take their toll with the older players. As has happened with us. Leaders are needed but you can have too many older leaders that weaken the team because fitness levels are needed. Anyway Sam Allardyce has signed Tosun, Walcott and Mangala. Ok Mangala is out injured, but Walcott and Tosun have revitalised us no question. As have Coleman and Baines returning. We now need to sign replacements for those two and Jags. Whoever is manager should see this need and deal with it. I would be ok with Sam A. but suspect too many are against him.

good lol.

Walsh and Moshiri have to take credit for the Tosun signing as it was them who scouted him against Monaco.
Also can't see Sam going to Walsh and Moshiri 'hey have you seen the lad from Arsenal, Walcotts his name' that looks like a Moshiri or Walsh signing too.

Smit666 wrong.

17 Mar 2018 19:59:53
Which bit DFS?

17 Mar 2018 20:17:43
Didn't just scout him against Monaco, he was scouted by more than one Premier League side as well. Also Alardyce had a huge say in wanting Tosun. Alardyce has extensive football contacts World Wide and more so than the likes of Moyes etc! (nevertheless I would take a return of Moyes over retaining Alardyce, especially with our current financial status) .

17 Mar 2018 20:42:00
Moyes not for me mate big no no.

17 Mar 2018 21:14:01
Well DFS you have more Intel than me then. Moshiri saw him against Monaco in October, Allardyce arrives in December and 4 weeks later Tosun arrives. Allardyce must have been the driving force behind the signing.

As for Moyes, yeah let's get him back. He sold us down the river, and since than has failed at every club he's managed. No thanks.

17 Mar 2018 21:24:30
TRAITOR NO THANKS.

17 Mar 2018 22:05:41
Didn't say take him back (Moyes) lads! just pointing out the difference (Alardyce) . Most if not all disagree with me I know but take an unknown (Fonseca) against an excellent man manager/ organiser known such as Dyche (Burnley basics Academy upwards) into an already good set up such as ours and I believe Dyche would only have to hit the ground at a stroll.

Rk had an aloofness that most read as arrogant. Also it's a classic Dutch trait
And it's probably the least appealing personality trait.

I'm sure if he had come out as Jose did a couple of days ago and be spot on with underlying realistic targets and reigning in his own fans (Good to see him back on form for the 1st time in 3 years) and gave journalists and fan groups a fact based reality check, maybe he would have been afforded more respect and time? We will never know.

I guess the inspiration for my post today was the real fact of a new manager (sorry not sorry GB and the B. S. lovers)
But when a new boss is appointed this summer, it's likely that he will be met at some point in his 1st 18 months with a back lash.

I guess in hindsight if RK had tickled fans into believing he was soon to be an adopted one of our own (always has made me laugh this outdated desire for foreign coaches and players to give a damn as if they were born to represent their new employers) he may well have been afforded the same patience that inevitably will have to be given to a new coach?

Unless all this noise is a case of fans expecting 100% success and zero mistakes? Are we certain to make the same mistakes again?

If we get a modern manager coach and he is the next big thing
. do we destroy him for losing 5 or 6 games? Regardless of him3 setting (for instance) a home points record tally the season before?

If RK hadn't been the way he was (basically couldn't give a crap about glorifying the fans and blowing smoke up our back sides) he would have had more time.

Will we kill the next manager or are we going to actually buy in this time and support. the new guy. (Sorry if it's hypocritical to you that I hate B. S. but he came with a history that only the blind could ignore)

Also a coach as Rk was, is paid to coach and for match days.
He is invited to submit and discuss transfer targets.

His DOF and chairman are the deal makers.

Again old ground bit I can post links to 100s of interviews with RK 12 months before the mass, stating that we need to replace a likely departing Lukaku. So I do not blame home for the club's failure to address that issue.
And he has mostly hated on Ross and this was again something that RK stated as clear as glass that the lad signs by x or has gone too.
The club's powers let him down and we the fans took out q to burn him as the none blue he was.
