Allardyce: "West Brom were above us when I got here. Look where we are now and where they are.

" Everton were 13th and West Brom 17th after David Unsworth's final game.

Sam is knows nothing? 🐋.

07 Apr 2018 20:02:20
I wanted him Stig to do a job that job is done so I reckon the pay off on an 18 month contract will be worth it. His comments on Calvert today were quite frankly thoughtless and just go further to undermining a young man's confidence. Martinez would not criticise his Squad in public and I have to admit while overhyped at least built up the young up and comings self esteem, if only he could have got his ego around sorting out our defence he may well still be in charge. I still believe Fonseca has bigger offers and for me Dyche is the one we should lay out for.

07 Apr 2018 20:10:57
But are we not 9th now? just 2 points off 8th? Yes I know Sam talks himself big all the time. but surely you can see there has been an improvement in the squad? is Coleman back, Jags back, Baines back and the signings of Tosun and Walcott. Can't you be happy with that? Or do you have to blame Sam A for the Tories, EU and everything associated with negativity?

07 Apr 2018 21:00:12
I wasn't there but listened to it on the radio, by the sounds of it, Sam was trying to push them forward and get them attacking, sometimes it's the players who need to take the flack not just the manager, we got a point and should of won it,

07 Apr 2018 20:48:36
degsyp, I'm hoping you have been on the sauce as we have improved very little. if anything to do with Sam it's down to getting Baines Coleman and jags fit. now you all throw tosun and Walcott in stating they are Sam's signings well that isn't true both Sam and Walsh have to agree on signing a player and my guess is they were more to do with age ts offering them about or the clubs scouts to be down to Sam and as you asked nothing has improved under Sam. we have been nothing short of terrible.

07 Apr 2018 21:39:06
I think you know the answer Degsy. Why would anyone be happy with 9th, negative tactics and a man that is willing to accept any praise he doesn't deserve and blame others for when things go wrong.

He also doesn't help himself by talking about himself in every press conference. DCL came on today and transformed us. It would have been nice for the lad to get a nod for that rather than his miss being the highlight as ducks said.

He done some things right today and the substitutes were really good ones. Although Yanick should have been dragged off after 10 minutes. If you think his style of football though is what Everton is all about then I'm afraid you're very, very wrong. That's why we won't be happy.

07 Apr 2018 21:10:21
Unsworth beat West Ham, something that Allardyce and his fans forget. I don't think our form would of been different than it is now as I think Ed001 eluded to the other week. Hats off to the bloke, were in the top half but I think most of us are sick of arrogant interviews and press conferences as well as dire football and no ambition from him. Baines and Coleman were already coming back and I believe that the club would of tried to sign both players without Allardyce.

07 Apr 2018 21:54:20
degsy yes we are 9th and 2 points off 8th. Another way of looking at it is that we are a game ahead of those just behind us and once those games are played we could well be back to 11th.

07 Apr 2018 21:46:17
Finally managed to watch the whole game (non TV related) . What is plain to see (and probably why Tosun is constantly berating his team mates) is the huge amount of space in front of our back four that Liverpool were able to play in at will. What ever happened to the basic concept of closing players down and denying them space.

08 Apr 2018 03:53:20
Allardyce needs to go - period

He is negative, the team is never set up right and he hasn't any man management abilities.

Coleman and Baines coming back were massive pluses for him and for us. the rest is dire football with no ambition.

08 Apr 2018 10:05:57
Bluey interesting you say SA and SW have to agree on signing a player, Something I have said for a while now. It has been a long standing thing with a few members and posters here that SW signed all of the players when RK is here, Most agree that it was SW who signed the players under SA.

Funny how things get changed about to fit in with your own arguments.

08 Apr 2018 10:30:00
Please please stop backing allerdyce up, he's not good enough to manage Everton, its getting boring listening to now. He hasn't got the tactical nous to play the kind of football to take us forward. Forget about who signed who. The football is terrible and anyone who thinks otherwise doesn't really know their football very well.

08 Apr 2018 11:37:55
I'm not sure who was responsible for Walcott but as for Tosun, Allardyce had only been in charge 3 or 4 weeks before he signed. Walsh knew we needed a number 9 desperately, by the 3rd or 4th week of the season. Logic says the Tosun deal was being processed before Allardyce even come on board.
Walcott could be a Walsh or Allardyce signing, who knows.

What we are seeing with Allardyce now he has his feet under the table is, he certainly knows how to send a team out to keep clean sheets, and this is why he has been so successful doing what he's done. What he doesn't have the knowledge or experience doing is setting a team up to play any other way but defensive.
Let's just thank him for what he has done and move on in the summer.

08 Apr 2018 11:50:11
Now now OllBlue No one has backed him in this thread. I merely commented on Bluey who happened to say, and I quote, " now you all throw tosun and Walcott in stating they are Sam's signings well that isn't true both Sam and Walsh have to agree on signing a player "
Why do you not choose to make comment on that poster yet choose to comment when someone else repeats it?
So Please stop moaning we all know your views on SA and you repeating it time and time again is actually becoming boring, just as it was with my constantly repeating of my support of him. It seems right that I stop yet OK for you to continue, something slightly wrong there.

08 Apr 2018 11:51:36
In Koemans own words he said he identified areas where he needed players. Walsh would go and get the players he felt best suited what Koeman wanted.

There is always input from the manager but Koeman said he preferred the footballing side of it. It was the first time I'd heard a manager not want to get involved in picking players but by all accounts it quite common in Europe.

08 Apr 2018 11:52:32
I have never said once grumpy that one or the other signs players I have always known they both have to agree so not sure what your on about that I change things to fit my argument do you want to explain that to me please.

08 Apr 2018 13:17:57
No Bluey I just can't be bothered to at the moment.

I can't be bothered to post any more on this thread.

I can't be bothered to cover ground that has already been covered in depth.

The only thing that does bother me is folk accusing Degsy of being on the "sauce" because he see things differently to others. I wonder who did that?

End of conversation for me.

08 Apr 2018 13:27:32
Grumpy
I think it was you who misses the point. You can see from Blueys post above he has always said it was Sam and SW who picked players. You were wrong to accuse him of saying different just so you could make some obtuse point.

At the end of the day Sam will not/ cannot take us forward so please stop the bickering, apologise to Bluey, and think about what is best for Everton for the future.

08 Apr 2018 13:37:46
Grumpy my reply wasn't to your comment for a start mate, even though it appeared straight after yours. And I don't constantly post about Allerdyce, I join in on threads when the topic is the manager or style of play. Try and stop getting p*ssed off with people for voicing their opinion.

08 Apr 2018 13:41:59
to me Grumpy you seem to want to cause an argument with as many people as possible which is very sad when we all support the same team and it was a simple question because I had been on the sauce when I wrote that it wasn't a nasty comment you are trying to make something out that isn't there in future I will give you a wide berth as I like to have conversations with people who have a different view to my own degsy if my sauce shout offended you I'm sorry it wasn't meant to grumpy you can choose ya next target as I will gladly not read anything you write in future.
