I accept that fans' feelings about football are exacerbated by social-media these days, but I definitely feel more depressed about the club's current situation than I did even with the last-day survivals in the 1990s - back then I still had hope and belief whereas now it's gone from anger to outright apathy. Anyone else feel this numbness?

I have seen success with the blues and also gone through the wilderness years of 70 to 84 when we were at times the almost club. I never turned my back on Everton. This season I have come close. I have found solace in watching Newport County play who, at times I believe they have given more than Everton, but as a life long Evertonian I cannot turn my back, but it has been without doubt the worst ever season I can remember. Next week will be an interesting one. SA could be the first manager to be booed by both sets of supporters, and that would tell you something. I hope the board listen.

I don't want to pick bones from your post Bobby but how on earth do we feel numbness?

Smit666: simple. if you no longer feel pain while watching Everton under Allardyce, then you’re feeling numbness. ker-ching!

Surely when you're numb you feel nothing though. 😂.

Smit666: when you’re numb, you don’t feel pain, but you are aware of the numbness. Anyway, the fact we’re posting about this shows how little there is to post about Everton’s football! 😉.
