After reading on Sky Sports Arteta withdrew himself from the race for the Arsenal job because he wanted to have more of a say on the ins and outs at Arsenal. Have a feeling Arsenal are missing out big time. He has been highly rated by Guardiola and is clearly a man full of determination wanting to turn a team into his own. Hoping Farhad and the board consider him before jumping to Silva, Arteta understands our club and the work ethic that we like to see on the pitch. Just imagine seeing a fraction of the football that Manchester City played this year at Goodison next year. Hopefully some clarity on who’ll be the man in the dugout next season over the next couple of days.

Surely he would have even less of a say here on ins and outs then if we have a DoF?

Not really my point CT I feel the man has been highly thought of by one of the best mangers in the world, he knows what is expected at Everton.

I agree he seems to be highly thought of but it’s kind of a moot point if the current structure of the club wouldn’t be something he would be willing to work under.

Is it an issue working under a DOF or more that at Arsenal they regularly sell their star players? And maybe Arteta doesn’t want to have his squad butchered without his say so
I am sure with Brands he won’t be trying to rip the team apart more trying to support the manager with the right playing assets for now and the future.
