I don't think the choice of manager is as important as people seem to think. I believe that we need a fantastic transfer window that gets in 2 or 3 top players in positions that we are sadly very weak in. No manager in the world could pick a great attacking team from the squad we have. We are nowhere near the level of top 6 teams. For us to achieve anything, I believe we need Lookman back with a better attitude. We need at least 1 new center back. A new attacking left sided midfielder and possibly a left back too. We need Tom Davies to be played in an attacking role and achieve the sort of penetrating runs that he was making when he first broke into the team and all the players perform at the top of their games all season. This probably means no place for Klaasen nor Schneiderlin.

I disagree on the manager part degsy. The team needs direction and the manager gives them that. The rest I agree with. One thing I would like to see is the 2 defensive midfielders gone. Play Gueye in front of back 4 or just dead centre of pitch in a 442 type formation. Like when Reid and Bracewell played together.

I'd say more than anything we need a midfielder who can carry the ball forward some with the physicality to go with it, for me it screams loftus cheek in a three midfielder with gylfi and gana.

I agree with you degsyp, I feel that Brands is the key to how Everton move forward.
He will be in control of who comes and goes and the "manager" will coach the players in movement, passing, defending etc.

sidutton, if we buy players who need coaching in movement, passing and defending we'll be sending for Big Sam again in November.

Tosun, Niasse, Walcott, Sigurdsson all have the potential to get into double figures in a season. All 4 can play together in a number of formations.

Now if the manager wants to play attacking football and use these players to their strengths then we are not far from having a good goals return from just 4 players in a season. So without any additions and with the right manager and tactics there’s definitely scope for improvements on the attacking front.

So whoever they go for, I just hope that he can get the best out of these and then any additions will hopefully not have too much a burden of expectation on them from the start.

I’d like to see Lookman and Walcott on the wings and Siggy in the number 10 pulling the strings with Tosun feeding off all 3. I reckon all 4 would bring each other’s games on leaps and bounds.
