In the past 5 years where we have chopped and changed our managers, I can honestly say this is the first appointment that has got me excited. I’m confident he’ll do great things with us. For all those fans pointing to him not being good enough for having a relegation on his CV then what is Klopp? Relegated with Mainz and had Dortmund in the relegation zone too, only for a late season turnaround. Just get behind the man, who knows, you might actually enjoy the ride.

I will also say this, now that a new manager has come in, everyone is on a clean slate for me. There are obviously players that need to be moved on but last season is a thing of the past and I’m not holding any grudges against players based on last season. They all need a fresh start under a new gaffer.

Can’t wait for when the season starts, hopefully a strong first 5 games and it will do wonders for our confidence. I’ll be like a kid on Christmas morning when the fixture list comes out in a fortnight to see what aways I can get to.

Up the blues.

Good post bitter blue and a positive outlook.

I will be there.

You will not be surprised to read that I disagree with Silva's appointment and yes my opinion based on his failure in the Premiership at both Clubs he has managed. If the bloke is so good why have the Club spent weeks bigging him up the latest roping in Phil Jagielka to do a PR job on him. It just does not add up. I will of course, as I did with Martinez, Unsworth (will not have a bad word for the lad) , Koeman and Allardyce always support the Club and those they appoint.

You'll pick anything to have a go at him won't you DFS?

Whats next? Top button open on his shirt? Doesn't shout enough? Sits funny on his seat?

Have your reservations but I'd leave out the petty stuff mate. You're sounding desperate.

By the way every club in the world will have players coming out in SUPPORT of the new manager.

Don't be personal BJU. No need for it. Opinions are just that opinions. I have made it a point of never being personal in my opinion and have stressed at every point that my comment (s) are not such thing.

{Ed025's Note - i dont think hes being that personal to be honest DFS, he is wondering why you are being so negative when the rest of us are prepared to give the guy a chance mate, i dont know what your trying to achieve with this character assassination of marco before you have seen what he has to offer, maybe you want to be the one who said"i told you so" if things go tits up but whatever it is you come across as the elephant in the room im afraid..

No probs Ed25.

BitterBlue, a great post that mate, it's how everybody should look at things. If I was an Everton fan I'd be really chuft right now, to the negative people, change was needed and change has happened.

What more do you want? You are finally moving in the right direction with a manager who can bring success, believe me he can, but he needs you fans behind him as well. Slating him from day one is no way to be, he hasn't managed a single game for you yet and some of you are already against him? I find that a bit daft to be honest.

Sorry DFS but don't take what I say personally, ever. I don't know you from Adam and it's your view that I am responding to. You are probably the nicest guy in the world.

I get the caution over his career but I just see things in a different way. I see a good job at Hull in very difficult circumstances. He had only 12 or 13 players there and sold his best to get a couple in to make a difference. He almost pulled it off. It was the worst squad in EPL history. Take a look back and see what happened at Hull that season. It was so badly run.

At Watford he was doing brilliant until we jumped in with both feet.

At his club's before that he was hugely successful, massive.

You can pick holes in any career but what's the use. I want to go to the game and see us shoot again! Never mind score or win! He likes his teams like I like my teams with a high press and to play attractive attacking football. It's what I grew up with. It's what we won trophies with.

That's all mate. Probably no different to you. Let's just see, even if we have our doubts, if he can do it. You never know.

I'm with the Ed, Bitter Blue and Salah on this one. I'm sorry DFS bit, if you can't get behind the appointment go find somewhere else. Silva and Brands will make mistakes - we all do. But if they are going in the right direction we don't need 'twisted' souls shouting I told you so from day one.

Get in, behind the team, the team or go. You'd be told this in any walk of life be it work, the military, family. Stop being the black sheep and try and enjoy life for a change.

Sorry
Blue John Uns not Bitter Blue.

Look at Alex Ferguson, couldn't win to save his life at first, then along came the young boys and the rest is history, from what I've read he was a game away from being fired, now we have to let the manager come in, do his things, he will no what needs to be done with players, but he won't be able to change the team in one go, he will need time .

02 Jun 2018 11:25:10
bw2412, I don't agree with the negativity of DFS, this is a time for a clean slate, but telling him he should stop supprorting Everton just because you don't share his view is out of order he has as much right to his opinion and to support the team he loves as you do.

Everyone should be happy and keep remembering these 5 words.
Allardyce has left the building.
