Good W/ Cup so far imo with a few surprising results and some less than average performances by some Elite players. There could be one or two shocks still to come if the Big Boys don't get their acts together, and if England hold their nerve and cut out the silly mistakes they could go quite far this time.

Good post Big H. As long as were still in it, we can win it.

What do you all think about the use of VAR?

I, for one, think it’s about time. The idea of it taking 5 minutes to come up with a decision and it killing the flow of the game haven’t really happened yet.

Still got some things to iron out (like a wrestling judge on the panel) but pleased it seems to be working.

Also nice to see some of the underdogs doing well. Goes to show how football has developed so well outside of the top teams.

I enjoyed the Tunisia match. Southgate has been a breath of fresh air. Imagine what that game would have been like if Big Sam was still in charge, we would be saying Tunisia were a good attacking team. it would have saved us toffees a lot grief though.

I am not sure about it, because sometimes I watch the rugby and there it is overused and stops the flow of the game, but seems quite good in Russia so far although it is not perfect, nothing ever will be.

VAR definitely helps but it isn't perfect. From what I understand there are only a few things it can be used for - eg penalties etc - but what I don't get is the other stuff that was meant to be getting clamped down on - surrounding the Ref and blatent holding in the box - is still going on. It's early days though I guess and although one or two things are missed atm I'm sure it will improve in time.
