What's the story with this reported transfer ban regarding young players and what damage will it do to the acadamey. Sounds serious to me.

{Ed025's Note - it is serious pgp, we are not the only ones to do it of course but we are the first to be sanctioned i think, the 2 year ban from signing other prem clubs youngsters will derail our youth policy which is a shame but if you play with fire you have to expect to be burned mate..

We deserve it, we broke the rules, have no problem with that whatsoever.

What I do have a problem with is other clubs getting away with it, other clubs getting away with financial fair play by over exaggerating sponsorship to around 80%, to one player being punished for simulation, while another gets away Scot free.

To a club making an illegal approach for a player, then sign the same player a few months later without any punishment.

We accept our punishments handed out to us, butt least be consistent around other clubs, that is all we ask for.

Sort of related but having played at a fair level, I now coach youngsters at a local Club. Some months back we were at a tournament and the normal 'big Club' scouts were there. Naturally I got talking to a couple of Everton scouts, they recognised a couple in our setup with potential and asked their ages, I said 7 and under 8's. I was quite taken aback to be honest by their reply. At this level we like to get them at age 6 but under 7! Must admit I am quite naive but blow me!

{Ed002's Note - Worrying, but this particular deal is related to kids slightly older. As I told the other Eds earlier, from my perspective I feel sorry for the kid more that anyone here. I guess he will be 14 now, thoroughly ****ed by Liverpool, the FA allowing a rule change to compensate his parents, kid on the sidelines, Everton due to take him and a kick in the gonads. I am told Burnley look like a good option now.}

your remark ed, that we maybe the first club to be sanctioned for this bothers me. niasse was the first player that recieved a ban after video evidence was brought in. do you reckon we will be the first club to be docked points for tapping up an other manager.

{Ed025's Note - it would not surprise me pgp, i think the FA get together with match of the day and plan how to shaft everton mate...well it seems that way..

08 Nov 2018 20:43:11
ed this might be a silly question but is it just a ban on transferring other teams players or can we not register any players for the academy i only ask as a mates son just been invited for trials at everton, would this mean he couldn't sign for us for 2 years?

{Ed025's Note - i think its players from other prem teams johny but not entirely sure mate, is it just me or does anyone else think its always us that gets it in the neck..

08 Nov 2018 21:14:04
On the Niaase ban, have any other players been banned for simulation since?

{Ed025's Note - i dont think so BCT..

08 Nov 2018 21:14:59
Not just you Ed, we seem to get shafted every time while others get away with it or not as much punishment, my belief is both Liverpool and Man City received just a 12 month ban and not even half the fine Everton received.

May be wrong but is the kid at Utd now, or is it another player.

May come across as bitter to other Ed’s, but it is simply wanting fairness across the board, City and PSG have got away with Financial fair play by fiddling the books on sponsorship, simulation going unpunished at other clubs, seems the fa have it in for us big time, god knows what will happen on the Silva saga, but you can guarantee Moyes being approached in January will be brushed under the carpet.

{Ed025's Note - it does seem that some clubs are untouchable bignev, im not crying woe is me or anything but a level playing field would be nice mate..

08 Nov 2018 21:16:45
Then something certainly smells.

08 Nov 2018 21:18:51
By that I mean rather strange. Not one for going down the victimisation route but Niaase being the one and only, hmmmmm!

08 Nov 2018 21:21:44
We are recognised as the first club for many good things on and off the pitch, but why is it only us who get hit with the bad things in football. I really am getting a complex over this!

08 Nov 2018 21:22:06
It's obviously difficult to know from the outside but what we've done sounds almost identical to what Liverpool did? They got a 2 year ban with the second year suspended. we get a 2 year ban. Can't be right that so I must be missing something!

08 Nov 2018 21:30:50
That is what us Evertonians want Ed, a level playing field, take our punishment, but it has to be handed out elsewhere as well, at the moment that is not happening.

{Ed025's Note - i agree mate, and in my view its never likely to..

09 Nov 2018 00:33:57
On a final note Ed both Man City and Liverpool have had the second year ban suspended for 3 years, what chance of Everton receiving the same for the second year.

{Ed002's Note - Only if they were to appeal and win it. Some clubs have a history of bad behaviour and not learning lessons - Everton has a previous tapping up issue that has not been forgotten. You cheat, get caught and then you get punished.}

09 Nov 2018 09:34:47
Absolutely agree ed002 and I don't think many will complain about that. Fairness across the board would be refreshing though which doesn't seem to be the case.

{Ed002's Note - In what way is it not fair across the board?}

09 Nov 2018 10:38:57
Knowing our luck Ed, if we appeal, they will probs stick an extra year on ours :-)

{Ed002's Note - I doubt there are grounds to appeal Nev.}

09 Nov 2018 10:40:00
I find this very embarrassing as a supporter and makes me ashamed. This has happened under Moshiri he once again brings down the name of our great club.
I cannot imagine this happening under Kenwrights ownership.
My pride in Everton is about the whole club not just the playing side in the first team.
It is the community work etc began under Kenright and more, these our the things that made us superior to the other lot not just titles, we are Everton, but it is going like all the good values in life.

{Ed002's Note - This is nothing to do with the owners, and it is nothing that has happened in recent weeks.}

09 Nov 2018 13:53:57
The club will not be appealing. You can tell that from their contrite response.

09 Nov 2018 13:35:05
Ed002 The inconsistencies with players being retrospectively banned for simulation.

{Ed002's Note - I didn't realise the discussion had turned away from Everton's ban, but if players cheat and the referee misses it then they can be picked up on and charges made. And that is what happens.}
