Hey guys, regular posters and especially the Eds, Tentative return now the gloominess has (temporarily) dissipatated from here. Hope all are well!?
So a couple of quick questions if i may.
Obviously as many others have likely seen, I've read the supposed interest in Pickford by M. Utd, i was wondering if he's seen as the De Gea replacement by most at the club or just a player interesting Mourinho? I suspect he will be leaving Utd this year and so would the rumoured interest end?
Also, crazy left field but heard a mention of an ex player who had a torrid time but i was so excited by when we signed him, Lacina Traore. Is there anything to the rumour he may be of interest? Something along the lines of nominal fee i heard. I'm very excited by the possibility of Arnautovic but feel Traore would offer us a different style dimension if brought in instead.

{Ed025's Note - nice to hear from you worcester mate, pickford to utd is just paper talk and the press are just making things up because it looks like de gea is on his bike, traore is a very good player but some bigger fish will be in for him so im not holding my breath on that one, arnautovic is someone i really rate and i feel we are in with a shout to be honest, at 30 maybe the CL clubs will swerve him i hope..

Well that was posted quick and a very nice reply, thank you Ed025! It's hard to not refer to such awesome knowledge on here when something piques my interest.
I did think Traore was unlikely, i guess I'm just hoping he may want another shot with the true Merseyside giants ;) after his unlucky injury hit loan spell, and Mr Brands has certainly surprised me with the calibre players he's persuaded to join already, but as you say, if he's allowed to leave on the cheap then no doubt he'll get some good offers.
If we get Arnautovic and nobody else in Jan then I'd still consider it an excellent window. Ask Mr Ed02 to put a word in at Chelski about giving us a chance at him. They already got Giroud last year ahead of us, who would have been exactly who we need now.

Hi Ed we've said it before no disrespect to the forwards we have, but it would be nice to get an out and out striker in January as a plan B.

{Ed025's Note - the only serious one at the moment is arnautovic penysarn, how realistic that will turn out is anyones guess though, im sure other will be linked as the window gets nearer mate but im not sure if anything will happen in january as its not a good time to buy..but heres hoping..

I really cannot see Arnautovic coming to us. He has not long been down at West Ham. He signed a 5 year deal last year. They are cash rich at West Ham right now so any deal would have to be off the scale unless he forced it through and West Ham would likely say rot in the reserves for a while . before allowing any transfer. and like you say Ed. his age means if they did that his career time left would be very limited.

I think we could get him but he would cost a lot. We have seen it with our own players - if someone wants to go - then little a club can do (Lakaku, Stones, Barkley) .
I do think Jan should be a time to get the squad trimmed so we can focus purely on signings in the summer.
Garbutt, Browning, Williams, jags, Galloway, Besic, vlacic, JMac, Scniderlin, ? lookman, Naisse, to name a few.
Get Gomez if possible and Zouma
That would free up 3-4 places for the summer (striker, right back, centre back)
Until we are in Europe - only need a squad of 22 max - you can see centre midfield - players like JMac, Besic, Scinderlin, Beni, Dowell just can’t get in team.
Up front Toson, Naisse, DCL barely playing and talking of adding Arnautovic would further reduce game time
Defence Kenny, Baines, Galloway, Browning, Jags, Williams, Garbutt are not going to get much game time
Loaning players who may have a future with us is good - kenny, beni, Dowell, DCL? Lookman and Davies
But I don’t see benefit of loaning players who are not going to have a future: Galloway, Browning, Besic, Naisse, blacic, garbutt, willlians etc.

Degsy, I agree, he had the chance to sign for Everton but opted for West Ham instead, he seems a player who even-if he did sign would want away sooner rather than later believing in his ego, just my opinion mind you.
Again only my opinion but I would prefer Metrovic out of the two if available, but sure Brandswill have something up his sleeve.

I'm sorry Ed but i'm a bit lost here, surely you're not talking about Lacina Traore as being a "very good player"? I thought he was garbage when he played for us.
