I've got no idea how good or how bad Olsen is but his arrival will hopefully put a bit of pressure on Pickford to now perform. Add to that the fact that he won't play in England's first game, I'm hoping we will get the right reaction from JP. I'd have liked to have seen Romero brought in as competition, mainly because I've seen him play quite a lot over the years and know what to expect from him. Either way, we will probably know by the next window if JP has any sort of future with us. Any preference on keepers if CA decides to give up on Pickford?

Can we clone neville southall? . Or is cloning still frowned upon?

Now that would be the perfect solution, Gibbo!

Don’t think having a big fat bloke in goal is going to help😂.

{Ed025's Note - he was a pukka goalie though woburn.. :)

Bet we would win the league with him in goal now even at his age. Saw him at Torquay at the very end of his career and still had it. Top 10 goalkeeper of all time (Southall not Pickford! )

{Ed025's Note - top 5 for me cookie..

Even when he was at his heaviest he was still better than a lot of his peers. I might be biased but Nev was the best ever for me, certainly of those that I've watched in person.

I want Donnarumma from Milan

Interesting about Southall because I never see him mentioned by neutrals ever, see Everton and Liverpool fans praise him

But neutrals seem to rank Schmeichal, Cech, Seaman, Shilton and even the likes of Van Der Saar and Pat Jennings way above Southall

In fact, not sure I’ve ever seen Southall mentioned in any conversation for best goalkeepers to have played in England except by Reds and Blues.

For me Southall was one the best in the world in the 80s.

Decent shout that, Swan, he looks good and is still young.
Mad that about Southall, possibly a generation thing? From your list there, I'd say he was better than them all in their prime but Schmeichel is a close second. It might seem a biased view but he was top notch mate.

Southall was pure class in the 80s and early 90s. The last time we won something he was man of the match and completely outshone his opposite number that day. I agree with Ed. Top 5 for me and possibly even top 3.

Big Nev was at the time the best Goal keeper in the world, I remember Bobby Robson the then England manager saying he wished Nev was English, I ve said this before on here but Kevin Ratcliffe once said in an interview that in shooting practice at Nev he wouldn’t even use his arms to stop the shots he’d just throw his body in the way, and then Sir Alex said after the cup final, when Neville is in that mood nothing gets passed him. Even in the latter years after he retired and gone big I saw him in a charity game and he just walked around the 18 yard box and stopped everything just reaching an arm out . Total Legend, and he reckons Pickford is good and will get better🤷‍♂️.

Hard to disagree with any of that, BC, the man was top draw wasn't he? Think his judgement of Pickford is a little clouded though!

Southall was THE best goalkeeper of all time. If you want a summary of how good he actually was. just watch the 84 semi final and know that you just watched pure class!
