One of the things we need to realise is this. Silva is going to get til the end of the season. No point getting rid now. We are not going down. Also if Benitez is the man we are after, he is out of contract at the end of the season. Therefore no compensation required. He has a house on the Wirral and his family still live there I think. My only concern is he won champs league 14 years ago. Does he still have the required tactical nouse or should we be looking for an up and coming manager. I'd love simeone but is he just a foreign fat Sam.

I reckon he is on borrowed time mate, will not last long especially if we Heaven forbid. loose against Cardiff who will be up for it now they are out the bottom three, he will be walking on thin ice till then.

11 games left, 17 days till we play again, be interesting, if no change, I would say it is almost certainly Silvas coaching inability. If we end up hiring Bielsa, I used to wear patterned and hide in bushes, if he needs help.

Rafa Benitez is working wonders at Newcastle with very little money. I think he is still a master tactician and although he may not take us to champion league team status within the next 4 years, I feel he would definitely take us up a level.
I find the hate for him because of his Liverpool connection a bit absurd. Yes he called us a small club, but I do believe that that was taken out of context/ lost in translation. He was referring to where we were at at that tones as a football side and that when clubs of lesser ability shall we say, played against Liverpool, they set it to stifle and frustrate his side, which we did.
Many, many great players have come from across the park (Sheedy, Ablett, Watson, Harper etc etc) and turned out to be great and loyal servants to our club so why shouldn’t it be the same for a manager? I just don’t get this blind hatred toward anything LFC.
IMHO, he is the best proven manager out there at the moment who we have a realistic chance of landing, so he would be my first choice.
