I’ve read all the post over the last 24hrs and had time to think of my post.
I am losing patience at our performance and results.
Part of me blames Silva, part of me blames the players.
I am one of the patient of fans and love to give time if we see enough optimism for the long term. We have a good youth set up with players coming through.
My main concern now is the style of play Silva adopts are we good enough for this. We have no 30 goal a season striker. I think Pep would struggle with the players we have playing open football. I believe it’s the right way to play and it’s great to watch IF you have the players.
Unfortunately I don’t think we have yet, we have spent a lot of money and if you compare our team to Watford starting 11 yes we have more quality overall but will get picked off by teams who can defend solid. Maybe the way forward is to steady the ship first get into the top 6 playing a more balanced style of football then we would beat teams of Watford’s ilk.
If we haven’t got a 30 goal a season striker then we need to be able to keep clean sheets.
Back to basics I’m afraid. We need to learn to crawl before walking never mind running.
We all have our opinions on who could or should. I think Unsworth would get the team playing as a team again and keep clean sheets. Long term maybe not. Sam did it, Moyes could do it, Dyche could do it. Long term I would like Rafa as he could be the best option for both short and long term. I don’t like the idea of taking another chance on an unknown unproven premier league manager.

Good post mate, I agree. Martinez has the same problem with his philosophy and not having the players good enough to see it happen. A manager needs to be able to adapt and do a job (play football that wins matches ( with the tools (players) at his disposal. So if you are unmovable in your philosophy and style of play, then you’re going to struggle.

Everton is trying to play same way but it’s only enjoyable when there is cutting edge, a end product. Playing hundreds of passes at the back or in the middle of the pitch is not great to see, at least with Martinez there was goals in us and a real threat.
We have a side that can’t defend and don’t know how to score goals.

{Ed025's Note - yeah but besides that..

I am one of those Fans (like the majority I think) that keep quiet, except for positive support actually at the game, It is on these forums where big gob comes into play and thank goodness for them is all I can say. 'Now then, wonder what Mr Moshri thinks of Mr Silva rewarding the players with days off followed by warm weather holiday', wonder what he really thinks about, how the Team is progressing. We have nothing to gain, by keeping Silva until summer, it will just take a much harder job for Benitez (hope its him) , whereas if Benitez has been given the nod, he can be planning now.

It is so simple and obvious, that in order to attack you must have a solid base to attack from. Simple philosophy, if the other team cannot score, then our percentages increase.
