Hi Eds,

Any truth in Spurs beating us to sign Gomes? Will be gutted if he doesn't join after the performances he's put in this season.

{Ed002's Note - There is no secret that there are a number of sides interested in Gomes - and Spurs has been interest for a long time as has previously been explained. Again, part of the issue that Everton has, probably the largest part, is that they are selling a project (or dream if you will) as they have no European football, nor any clear sight of European football. Everton can easily get stung to pay more wages to compensate - but then the plan needs to sell. That is the reality of it.}

You can’t blame him if he goes to spurs CL final, CL next season and the pull of living in London. He’s done great for us this season and even made a effort with the fans and the charity events etc. Good professional and a role model for the younger players.

Pochettino has said that he will evaluate his future after the final. How many players who would consider going to Spurs now have second thoughts after comments like that? Might be easier selling a project when the manager has every intention of staying than a club who currently have CL but not the manager who got them there.

Perfectly put ed. I'm Hoping his time at Everton can help pursaude him. He has been happy but he may feel he needs t9 be in a champions league team now, which would be understandable considering the short nature of being a footballer and the uncertainty of outcomes. All we can do is hope 🤞.

Doesn't bode well for us, just need to have faith that we have a contingency plan in the event he doesn't sign!

Hi Eds keep seeing different articles stating we hold an interest in Giovani Lo Celso, is this a player we’ve looked at?

{Ed002's Note - Giovani Lo Celso (CM) is a Plan B to AG but in reality he could be more expensive than him after REal Betis signed him and are looking to treble their money (in reality they might be able to double it).}

Rumours circulating that Barcelona will accept Spurs bid for Gomes and he is going to accept their offer. i hope Lo Celso can be as good as Gomes if we are lucky enough to get him in, Gomes was a real asset this season.

Quick question on these type of situations Ed, I take it they cannot actually sign him until the window opens so can the selling club actually sell him elsewhere themselves?
I would be miffed if it happened to my team but I think something similar happened with Southampton a few seasons back with Toby Alderweireld who was on loan but then ended up going to Spurs
Or was that a completely different scenario?

{Ed002's Note - No, they can sign him any time they wish as he is registered to them and they have an option to purchase. So Real Betis informed PSG last November of their plan to buy him outright, and the did so in early April although PSG did try and persuade the player not to sign because they could get more elsewhere - and PSG need commited sales of €60M gross by June 30.

It was a different situation with Toby Alderweireld where Southampton accepted a payment not to take up their option (and the player being happy to move to Spurs)}
