By the end of the week?

BlueHaze

Agree0 Disagree0

Really? We are signing a shocking defender from a regelated club?

Agree0 Disagree0

Doesnt this feel you with optimism. NOT! what a joke. He is awful and his age isn't even on his side!

With all the moaning about finding a billionaire I thought I add my two bob
We don't need a billionaire just someone who can clear the debts and squeeze some more out of the sponsors if we did that with the new tv money we'd been on a 30-40m profit a year easily enough for transfers and start saving for a stadium
COYB
Quinny

Believable11 Unbelievable5

If some one was to come in and clear the debt then they would need to be a billionaire, who else would just pay off 40+ million, and let's not forget the price to buy the club, give your head a shake and wake up!

Agree0 Disagree0

U should give it a shot quiny.

Agree0 Disagree0

A magician then?

Agree0 Disagree0

You wouldn't need to be a billionaire 120m to buy the club 40m to clear debt 160m total 40m a year profit take 10m a year out investment cleared in 16 years plus club probably worth twice what you paid for it by just staying in the premier league and making money

Agree0 Disagree0

So who with 160 million is going to put it all into a club? And then there's nothing saying you will never be relegated and lose all your money, and what about new stadium etc? You talking about them people that win the lottery and now have a pound in the bank, like I said give your head a shake, no one is that stupid.

Agree0 Disagree0

If the Tv money is what is making us more profit, everyone has access to that in the PL. so the ability to spend that is only keeping us up with other clubs who have benefited from the tv funds. Without additional spending on top of the tv revenue, we would continually fall down the league.

BTW someone who can spend 140 on a football club (ie a hobby) must be a billionaire.

Hi eds any news on possible transfer targets from spain, as I heard there was a big one coming in. blue billy

Believable7 Unbelievable4

General consensus is that it's either soldado of negredo, but I can't imagine we'll get close to either. We'll probably get someone like Kone or Long.

Heard we have had the go - ahead to sign Scott Sinclair now city have completed signing of navas

Thoughts

Believable8 Unbelievable11

Would not be surprised, especially on a loan to buy.

Agree0 Disagree0

Depends on the price but adds to the squad and a different type of player to what we have

Is there anything on the Naismith to Norwich rumours and if so what fee?
Quinny {Ed025's Note - i have heard nothing mate..

Believable5 Unbelievable9

Disappointing. Anyone think he'll come good I know one of the eds did
Quinny

Agree0 Disagree0

The best way to get the best out of a player is play him in his natural position not out of position Naismith gets a hard time on here but maybe under Martinez he will get a better chance and played in his right position. I said it many many times about Coleman when he was playing on the wing if we play him at right back we will get the best out of him was I wrong on that 1?

Agree0 Disagree0

He won't come good. With players like Vic, you could see something there, they just needn't a few changes and a bit more development. Naismith has nothing. No ability in any regard. He must go.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jun 2013 18:15:16
Nothing sounds a fair deal to me!

Agree0 Disagree0

Think he might just well come good if he can get a chance in his best position and a good run of games

Agree0 Disagree0

I for one hope so Quinny!

Stu

Agree0 Disagree0

Played well against chelsea in his natural role

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jun 2013 21:53:52
Naismith has a bit of pace and incredible work ethic and adds a bit of bite on the wings and is willing to put in a tackle he also gets into some great positions (norwich, liverpool, aek athens etc. ) Should be used off the front man not on the wing

Agree0 Disagree0

Stef the blue has hit the nail on the head there. Play the lad just off the striker and he'll look like a different player. He had a great partnership with Jelavic at rangers so maybe the new manager will give him a run in that position. A lot of blues fans are judging him on only one season which is bit unfair. Said it on here before now, he has had two really bad injuries prior to joining, this is the season where we will discover if he can hack it in England.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Jun 2013 13:34:05
The difference is Coleman has talent. naismith is a headless chicken

Ray

Agree0 Disagree0

Playing the lad off the striker won't mean he has a better first touch, ability or awareness, I sit in the upper bullens and it was a running joke bringing him on last year the guy is awful, he looks petrified when he comes on and goes hiding because he knows himself he ain't good enough.

people talking about his injuries need to realise he's been fit all season now, it took jack Wilshire 2 weeks to start playing well after a career threating year and half out so i'd think after 12months he'd be near his best

Finch Farm sold to Liverpool Council for 12million

Believable15 Unbelievable9

Yep it's true.

Actually good for us because the Council will make the rates lower for as than they were with the previous owners.

New pitch being put in too, so that's good news.

AussieBlue

Agree0 Disagree0

Can we swap with them for Naismith?

Agree0 Disagree0

Didnt even think we owned it - thought it had been sold and leased back?

Agree0 Disagree0

Liverpool City Council have not bought Finch Farm off Everton, they have bought it off a private firm and will make a tidy profit off the club.

Agree0 Disagree0

We didn't own it, it was leased from a private company. Now the council own it and should give us better terms. we were paying approx. 1.5 mil a year. Now the council have said they have a 25 year mortgage as we have a 40 year lease they don't expect to make any profit until they own it in 25 years time, when they will get a to keep all the rent. Good business for both of us actually, they council will make money to put back into Liverpool and we will get cheaper rent.

Agree0 Disagree0

We don't own it, the owners sold it. It just means cheaper rates potentially for us. Nothing that exciting

Svenny

Agree0 Disagree0

Cant believe that, its full of potholes, and the council can't afford to fill them in

martinez first 3 signings diame mcarthy de guzman

Believable9 Unbelievable14

Totally agree for Diame to replace Felli. McCarthy is good future. De Guzman losed the ball too much even he play pretty football but our football must play safe. Further more I wonder we trust Distin who has very bad speed. I propose Hector Moreno.

Agree0 Disagree0

We're not going to spend our entire budget on cms

Agree0 Disagree0

Distin, is still one of the faster members of our squad, and also one of the faster centre backs in the league!

TJ

Agree0 Disagree0

Distin has 'very bad speed'? He's probably the quickest defender in the league.

Agree0 Disagree0

Cant see us signing 3 centre mids matey maybe 1 or 2 if fellaini leaves. Would take McCarthy and Diame for sure. If we can get £24m for fellaini we would be able to get Diame £3.5m release clause and McCarthy for circa £7-£8m would leave us a fair wack for new winger and forward plus funds already available which people are saying around £15-£20m. What do you reckon Ed?
Cheeks {Ed025's Note - i think your right cheeks...

Agree0 Disagree0

Didn't distin outpace Walcott this season he's rapid

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jun 2013 17:17:34
'Distin has very bad speed' that has to be the most stupid thing I've ever heard let's go through the list shall we.
First game of the season outpaced valencia
Outpaced both shotten and cameron jerome vs stoke this season
Outpaced sturridge and downing at anfield
Kept up with suarez whilst injured (remember suarez stomped him)
Outpaced and outmuscled both kone home and away
Outpaced lukaku twice at goodison
Kept up with theo walcott at the emirates
Outpaced tevez at goodison
Kept torres quiet at goodison

He is still fast and there is no faster centre back in the league I know you will say kaboul or koscielny but look at this koscielny was at fault vs chelsea when torres who has lost his pace sprinted past him and kaboul failed to keep up with stephen ireland last year or the year before

Agree0 Disagree0

Keep Fellaini all day long! He's better than every player you've mentioned. Wtf does everyone want to get rid of him? Keep Fellaini and don't buy half of your old team please Martinez, we are better than that.

Dog Puke Peter

Agree0 Disagree0

Distin is are fastest player!

Shame he couldn't use his 'rapid pace' to catch up with suarez in the semi final! useless sell him!

Believable8 Unbelievable7

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree0 Disagree0

Norwich wanting how much to take him?

Agree0 Disagree0

Let's him go with a bottle of champagne.

Agree0 Disagree0

I hate criticising our players, but he was awful last season, surely Martinez would take any cash offer for him, he was free we took a chance, let's sell if anyone is stupid enough to buy him.

Agree0 Disagree0

We must have a spare few quid: (DM Online)

Everton are set to install a brand new, state-of-the-art playing surface, which has been described as the 'Rolls-Royce of pitches'.
Having appointed Roberto Martinez as manager last week, the Toffees are now improving the quality of the Goodison Park turf and hope it will aid the Spanish boss' attacking, passing style of play for which he is known. The system will be the same type used in recent World Cup and Champions League finals and will be one of the best in the country.

Believable13 Unbelievable7

The pitch was started weeks ago, well before martinez was put in charge

Agree0 Disagree0

The pitch is the same as Man United are getting only two of this type this season and has been planned over 6 months ago

Agree0 Disagree0

Pretty shocked people are tagging this as unbelievable, its a club statement!

Obviously some users of the site aren't the sharpest tools I the box!

Agree0 Disagree0

My Uncle works at the ground he posted a picture to of the pitch all dug up, apparently currently only goodison and wembley have it!

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm pretty sure some users of this site aren't the sharpest tools in the box, but maybe they're clicking 'unbelievable' in response to the first line and the fact it's sourced from the DM?

Is Martinez still after McGeady ed? {Ed025's Note - i never knew he was mike!..

Believable3 Unbelievable13

It was in the echo last week, reports saying we are going to bid £4m. {Ed025's Note - just paper talk at the moment mike..

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope not

Agree0 Disagree0

IMO the McGeady and Moses links are just lazy journalism they have seen that he almost signed McGeady in January so just assume he will be after him at Everton. And obviously Moses played for RM before so its easy to make that link. It'll be N'Zogbia and Valencia next!

Everton could be after

Mcmanaman
Moses
Bent

Anybody got any other suggestion or insight? Ed?

xDWJ

Believable10 Unbelievable15

I'd take Bent if we can get him for around 4 mil. like to see us take Diame as well

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Bent would be a great signing, I don't understand why everyone thinks he's crap. He's scored goals wherever he's been and has a goal average of 0. 42 goals per game. the same as Hernandez, Tevez, Berbatov and only a fraction less than Wayne Rooney. I'd take that!.

Agree0 Disagree0

I totally agree with regards to bent if we could get him on a reasonable fee and reasonable wages the he would be a superb signing he score goals as simple as that.

Agree0 Disagree0

This is like saying Everton could be after arsenal, Aston villa and Chelsea alphabetically.

Agree0 Disagree0

Mcmanaman is definately on the radar. He was before martinez come, and I think his arrival has increased that. Bent may be a potenial signing but only for a very low fee, such as half a million. I've heard nothing on Moses. Mcmanaman would be a good signing, Bent, a decent sqaud player, but we would still need a prolific goal scorer. Bent, would give Vellios the chance to go out on loan. I don't think Moses deal would happen, and to be honest I wouldn't want it to happen.

Hi folks just heard through a manc mate of mine that Manchester United are looking at leroy fer. Blue billy

Believable10 Unbelievable10

Typical of us, we are the chief scouts for the rest of the league. We unearth hidden talent for everyone else!

Agree0 Disagree0

And?. i'm sure there is a reason why they are?. who cares.

Agree0 Disagree0

Leroy Fer is hardly hidden talent - certainly not after his recent U-21 performances and he was already relatively well known before our interest earlier this year.
Please get over this ludicrous idea that Everton are the only club that knows about certain players. There is very little "hidden talent" these days given the extensive scouting networks used by clubs. That mean that pretty much every club knows about pretty much every player around the world. Instead, it's a case of which club actually takes the plunge by investing the money and signing a player that looks talented - rather than just being "interested" in them.
Belgian-Bunn

Agree0 Disagree0

And considering moyes wanted him at everton and still likes him now

Agree0 Disagree0

I have a Dutch mate who follows footy and he says he ain't that great - ok to good, but not great - so if moyes wants to fill his team with sub top bargains then good luck to him -
Ps he was only a fellaini fall back for us - if we keep fellaini we won't buy him - a top class striker is our first priority as we basically came 6th last time without a striker - so the rest of the team must be very strong

Agree0 Disagree0

I only moyes did not scupper deal in jan because he knew he was going to utd and wanted him there, that would be upsetting.

Agree0 Disagree0

Explains why moyes pulled out of the deal in January the real time when he got the nod for Fergies job. This is especially as he even went on to say that he pulled the plug and all that Bill was still prepared to fund the deal.

Agree0 Disagree0

Think we all realise now moyes was working on other deals in january, for next season, just not with the blues.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jun 2013 08:43:47
