Holtby Or Younes Belhanda both would cost 8m each both 21! take your pick moyes!

Believable14 Unbelievable6

Sorry Belhanda 22

Agree1 Disagree1

Isn't Belhanda joing one of the Milan clubs?

Agree1 Disagree0

More the point, I thought Montpellier wanted around 40m for the lad?

Agree1 Disagree1

And holtby is a first choice player for a champions league club and valued at 10 million plus on over 30 k a week his dads just an everton fan or you wouldnt even mention him as hes out of our range at the moment

Blue kaz

Believable12 Unbelievable5

The bbc and sky are giveing differant figures sky are saying 15 up front and the rest in add ons.

Agree1 Disagree1

Sky website sayin 15m rising to 17m

Agree0 Disagree0

It's £12 million, not £15 million.

Agree0 Disagree0

No Sky 15 rising to 18

Agree1 Disagree0

Believe sky. there sayin more money lol

Agree1 Disagree0

Bottom line is, it's undisclosed, so we aint going to find out

Agree1 Disagree0

Just read the Man City manager saying Rodwell will now benefit from playing in a team that plays to win!! What was the score at Goodison last season mate? How many times have we beaten you since you have been City manager? Good one, keep dreaming.....we are going to smash you this season {Ed051's Note - how many trophys has there trophy room got, how long they been in the league

Agree0 Disagree0

City manager is a joker, be gone by Christmas probably and as for poor misguided Rodwell...good luck in their reserves

Agree1 Disagree1

Jack Rodwell has now been named Manchester City Reserves captain! David Platt is looking forward to working with him!
SpekeBlue

Agree1 Disagree0

£15M will do, it is a shame another home grown player gone but the club moves on.....just too many injuries unfortunately for him

Agree0 Disagree0

Good luck to him but we got a good deal.
He couldn't get in our team and hes injury prone.

Agree1 Disagree0

BBC said the boxer who won the bantam weight gold medal mother had died... To then retract.... If those f**kers told me it was dark outside I'd have to go outside to see for myself

Agree1 Disagree0

If those f**ckers told me it was dark outside I'd have to go outside and see for myself, thats hilarious i love it...

I do agree though BBC isnt that realiable

Can anyone confirm what all these posts over the internet are about a 'surprise' for Everton tomorrow?
Where has this rumour come from

PaulWRX {Ed051's Note - its because there is meant to be a shareholdrs meeting tomorrow, think someones has read to much into it and a rumour has started, hopefully im wrong. i do think bk has got something up his sleeve tho

Believable14 Unbelievable4

I was about to ask the same question baffles me why people have to read too much into things we will buy 1 player get two in on loan with the view to a perm transfer like always where does all our money go constant top 8 and cant spend a penny p****s me off joke of a club imwt {Ed051's Note - its efc way

Agree0 Disagree1

Quite happy with the Everton way to be honest. Paying little for great players like Gibbo and Jelly. If you want to have lots of money to piss up the wall have a look at the current Liverpool way. Times are 'ard Mr Arkwright, and what with the Glazers admirably shafting United, the absolute great majority of buyouts doing nothing but maintain mediocracy or destroy clubs history or actual existence, I'll stick with Bill, Dave and a good youth policy that enables us to see youth players for bags of cash to enable us to compete. Top 6 this year! Even top 4!! Can't wait {Ed051's Note - well said, leave your name mate next time

Agree0 Disagree0

This meeting has I think been arranged for sometime and unlikely to have any bearing on the Rodwell story.
Would be pleasantly surprised if it is to do with takeover, investment or somesuch story...its almost impossible to keep these things quiet in this media driven world.
Lets hope we are all pleased with the outcome whatever it is..

George

Agree1 Disagree0

Still cant believe people clapped Kenwright when he came on the pitch the other night.
The man is strangling our club.
No doubt he will release another statement of "interested parties" tomorrow. How many was it last time? 3 was it? It'll probably be 4 tomorrow.
He'll still be saying that in 5yrs time.

Agree0 Disagree1

To top poster im sorry but if you think we are a joke of a club p**s off and support someone else i am sick and tired of the negativity of some people and ed 51 this is the efc way really come on people support your club don't run us down we are everton be proud be blue....... grbefc

I have heard a few rumours about a surprise! One was that some Indian guy is willing to invest money to clear our current debt (for what price though?). Another is the possibility of a high profile signing (cant see it). The most likely is the announcement of Moyes penning a new deal? We will see. Hoping for some good news tomorrow of some sort...

Landon Donovan to join tomorrow, that is Bill Kenwrights present to us Everton Fans.
Ant (CFS) {Ed051's Note - hope your right but just dont see it

Believable26 Unbelievable41

Ant lad if we sign Donovan tomorrow i will run around town the next day naked lol, i would love us to sign him. Terry blue

Agree1 Disagree0

Dont think Kenright would be showing his face just to announce a signing.
If (a big IF) there is a announcement its more likely to be buying the training ground back if he has a spare £15m from Rodders sale.

MacT

Agree0 Disagree0

Rather get Dempsey !

Agree1 Disagree1

Don't be silly

Agree1 Disagree0

A present off Bill? I would expect no less than Messi for the s*** that he's put me through over the years. The Blue Queen. {Ed051's Note -lets hope lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Why are you called ant Cfs that is my name I used it for months give me a reason this is strange

Agree0 Disagree0

Do one kopite this is the real Ant CFS an that is bull stop using my name

Agree0 Disagree0

Rodwell been sold because moyes knows f jouiner can do the same job. Sox about spelling

Agree1 Disagree0

Where did we all see this about a Kenwright message tomoz?

Agree1 Disagree0

The only present i want is the club has been took over by bill gates or richard branson

Agree1 Disagree0

Awful what Bill's put us through innit. The Moores swapped horses to LFC, Peter Johnston almost killed us, and Bills presided over ten years of stability and top ten togger by showing faith in an unkown manager and encouraging a solid youth policy all whilst being a relative pauper in comparison to other owners and backers. Fact is any other board would of sacked Moyes during a few of his bad spells and its down to Bills faith that he's here and for once we are entering the season on a positive. Carry on Bill. {Ed051's Note - i agree mate.

Agree1 Disagree0

Rodwells own words Mr Kenwright did not want to sell but this was to good an opportunity for me. Good look to the lad becuase he might not get in their first as the lda has not completed a full season with a spell out injured. I liked the lad but think he has made the move for money not football.

considering the fee Bill has done well to get that for our 3rd choice central midfielder. Bill always doe his best for the club and at least jack did not do an arteta a wait until the last minute before saying he wanted to leave and we have time to do some business. Thaks for efforts Jack.

Agree1 Disagree1

The only present I'd like from Kenwright would be for him to **** Off!

Agree0 Disagree0

There's no way that the galaxy would sell Donovan during the middle of their season, because the MLS decides their champion via playoffs instead of the normal points based champion.Even though the galaxy played like s**t for the first two months of their season, their board has to view them as a legitimate contender. The best way we have to get Mr. Donovan on a full time basis is during the January transfer window or on a free transfer when his contract ends...

Agree1 Disagree0

12 Aug 2012 17:54:29
I mite b wrong but in the premiere league if u buy a player dont u have to pay 4 him within 12 months
BluenoseSlim

Believable25 Unbelievable7

The reported £15m in by 12months but the add on's will be 'as and when' ..eg appearances, England caps etc

Agree0 Disagree0

I think they should have tried to get Johnson in on loan for the season thrown in, but I suspect they're buying Rodwell so they can meet the English players required to be registered in the 25, so should hold onto Johnson.......whether he'll ever play remains to be seen.

Agree1 Disagree0

12 Aug 2012 17:17:42
we should try to get a winger or cam, maybe Brek Shea from FC Dallas or Lucas Ocampos from River Plate?

Believable14 Unbelievable14

Shea not good enough, Ocampos is off to Monaco for no less that 10m

Agree0 Disagree0

Shea is good enough but he has had a terrible season this year

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Aug 2012 17:12:08
Don't speak to soon. He has failed the medical. Just our luck. Source. Jack himself. {Ed025's Note - hmmm..

Believable5 Unbelievable39

No he has not. BBC confirm he has joined city.

Agree1 Disagree1

And the BBC confirmed payment over 36 months

Agree1 Disagree0

Premiar league payments have to be compleat within 12 months minus add ons re appearance obviously

Agree1 Disagree1

The fee has got to be payed with in 12 months. Thats the rule in the prem

Mootheblue

Agree1 Disagree0

I don't think man city would need to pay in instalments considering there owners wealth

Agree1 Disagree1

Everyone seems to think we sold rodwell to make the banks happy but does anyone else think we sold him simply because they offered us a good deal.
Positives from the transfer:
We could reinvest some of the money into getting new players.
Keep banks happy by giving them some of the fee
Good fee if rumours are true
Negatives:
We lost a quality player in rodwell who has talent. Good luck rodwell hope you get game time at city.
Blue kaz {Ed051's Note - I am happy with the deal if it's the money ssn are saying, he ever progressed and was injured far to much for a young player but I wish him good luck and thanks for what he done

Believable24 Unbelievable0

What money are ssn saying? i can't see anything?

TJ

Agree1 Disagree0

It's got 2 benefit Barkley with rodwell goin, u would think only 1 of them is 2 get game time, I wouldn't b suprised if we were 2 bid 4 Jarvis now, also cash plus big vic 4 moses snds good

Agree1 Disagree1

£15-20 million + add ons
blue kaz

Agree1 Disagree0

Agree with that, I don't think Moyes 'd look to get a RW and a striker, as he said, if he had no money.

Agree0 Disagree1

The money will go to the bank to pay off the debt

Agree1 Disagree1

Why is it when eva we sell a player its always undisclosed they never tell us how much we hav sold a player 4 {Ed051's Note - good point

Agree0 Disagree0

This satisfies the bank but it isn't to satisfy the bank. We've got great strength in depth in his position (suspect Francisco's emergence has something to do with this) and we've got loads of cash for a lad who although I think would of ended up good, great is another issue.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Aug 2012 14:28:49
Expect a lot more playing time for Barkley this season now then!..although I wasn't yesterday, I'm quite excited about the sale of Rodwell now; get decent money for him £15-20mil, invest that in a right winger and a striker (at least!) and we're gonna be laughin all the way to a top 6 finish! COYB IMWT

Murf

Believable15 Unbelievable12

Expect around 75% of whatever we get to wing its way to the bank, dont forget elstone was whinging about attendances down last season and the lost revenue, will be the same this season as well {Ed051's Note -

Agree1 Disagree0

I totally agree with the second poster... We'll be fortunate to see a penny of this money... Don't get delusional about who we are going to buy with it!!
Dave M

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said Murf! no harm in having a bit of optimisim unlike the the people pulling random figures out of there air with the 75%. If you remenber when lescott was sold, moyes was allowed to spend the lot so theres history to support he maybe again.

Agree0 Disagree0

He still has to pass the medical. With groin muscles like spaghetti I would not be surprised if it falls through.

Agree1 Disagree0

Moyes has shown little faith in Barkley up to now dont expect anything different to what has happened to Rodwell and Rooney before him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Whether the money goes to the bank or on new players i think its a good deal for us

Agree1 Disagree0

I think Everton have to justify the sale by giving Moyes enough to his targets. He has obviously earmarked a price that will suit his needs and the banks. Let's face it can they really afford not to appease the fans? I know we haven't always done what the fans would like, but there is a large amount of money here and there is enough to please both parties. If Moyes get's nothing then it is time to tell Kenwright to go. I'm sure Moyes has been given funds though.

Agree0 Disagree0

Rodwell is far better than Barkley, am i the only one who is not impressed with Ross?
Little Ecky, Old Swan.

Agree1 Disagree0

12 Aug 2012 19:17:08
Little Ecky: don't forget mate, Ross is only 18 and has only really made a few cameos for the first team up to now..I'm saying that now with us not having Cahill and Rodwell there's going to be more opportunities for Barkley to play. Let's just hope he doesn't take as long as Rodwell has to reach his potential (if he even has)

Murf

Agree1 Disagree0

12 Aug 2012 14:11:12
If Everton were interested in adam johnson wouldn't they have tried to negotiate a deal involving him. with a straight cash deal i doubt it. just a thought

Andy

Believable25 Unbelievable5

No, swap deals are very rare.

Agree0 Disagree0

Can't afford his wages

Agree1 Disagree0

12 Aug 2012 19:19:13
Andy, doesn't that show you that money is going straight to the Bank!

We'll get a loanee at worst, maybe 2.5m at best!

Agree1 Disagree0

I've heard a lot of rumours about Adam johnsons off pitch antics-which seems to be the reason that Mancini has frozen him out and he didn't get taken to euro's. Likes a pint a bit to much-which is well known in football circles so I doubt moyes will go for him

Agree1 Disagree1

12 Aug 2012 14:04:21
Greg O'Keefe who got the plane back from Malaga with Rodwell has confirmed we are getting 15 mill up front along with
'incremental' add ons, presumably appearances and England caps, similar to the Rooney deal. This is the best deal we could have got. Hopefully Moyes gets 10-12 mill of the money and spends it wisely.

Believable20 Unbelievable2

It will go to the bank to pay off the debt

Agree1 Disagree0

Just read the okeefe article mate what's more worrying for me is that he believes heitinger wants out now this could be an EVERTON jumble sale hope am wrong {Ed051's Note - me to

Well rumours are flying all over the show now with Rodders gone

Charlie Adam for 4 million, John O'shea for 2.5 million and Kevin Doyle for 6 million

Would like Doyle thats it, or Manny Fernadez on a free....:)

PeterB

Believable3 Unbelievable32

I would be devastated if Moyes spent the money on that heap of s***e.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed - let's not waste money on inferior players.

12 Aug 2012 13:43:45
tell me if you think i am wrong but out the blue we sell Rodwell and the deal to be pushed through in next 24 hours now this is were you can tell me i am wrong in about 29 hours there is a annual meeting so this sale obviously going to balance the books ahead of that meeting. if my thought is true my season ticket will be up for sale.

Believable14 Unbelievable8

The accounts will be for the year ended 31 May 2012. Any transfers after that date go into the 12/13 accounts.

Agree1 Disagree0

Think it's being pushed through to appease Mancini mate coz he wants new players I reckon we will buy a couple of new lads with it

Agree0 Disagree1

All business account are filed in April you Buffon ie the tax year. this is also assuming cash clear in the bank Instantly and why would City go along with it? you talking nonsense they put in a bid that was too good to turn which is reportedly £20 mil cash.

Agree1 Disagree0

Your probably right mate to much cloak and dagger as far as our financial situation goes.its baffling that sky have give the prem league the biggest deal money wise ever to each club and were still skint.

Agree0 Disagree0

Or it could be that negotiations could have been going on for some time but have not been made public.

WtG. {Ed051's Note - I hope so, maybe something might come from the meeting

Agree1 Disagree1

All business accounts are not filed in April. Everton is a limited company, they have to file audited accounts to Companies House within 9 months of the year end. A board meeting will have already taken place to agree and sign the 31/05/11 accounts (a statutory requirement), the accounts will have been submitted by 29/02/12. It is unlikely that the audited accounts for Y/E 31/05/12 will be ready to be finalised at this point, but they may be discussing the preliminary results and 2012/13 cash flow at the meeting, the Rodwell sale will not impact on the 31/05/12 accounts in any way. {Ed051's Note -

Agree0 Disagree0

Sell ya season ticket don't need people like you in the ground, negative negative negative!

Agree0 Disagree0

I posted a similar comment about the accounts but the ed the ed has not posted it. {Ed025's Note - well i never seen it mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

Its to convince the chinese into buying us out {Ed025's Note - hmmm..

Agree1 Disagree0

The meeting that everyone is talking about with 3 new executives being announced is not for the club, it's the shareholders association. It will have no bearing on any potential takeover, although your theory may not be too wide of the mark.

Agree1 Disagree0

12 Aug 2012 13:33:02
Rodwell moves to Man City for a fee of £15 million. Moyes has been given the okay to sign Isco, now there are surplus funds. Rodwell's fee was £12 million payable over 3 years and with a further £3 million in clauses.
Moyes is also keen on Lewis Holtby

Believable16 Unbelievable9

Isco is wanted by barca, real madrid, arsenal, and city there just the top 4 in the race to sign him i very much doubt hell choose us over them

dixie deans

Agree1 Disagree0

Where have you com up with this? sky are reporting 20 mil.

Agree1 Disagree0

All transfer fees between premiership clubs have to be paid up in full now in 12 months so whoever told you this wrong!

Agree0 Disagree0

Mate the richest club in the world don't pay over 3 years

Agree1 Disagree0

Wrong new rules state all deals between premiership clubs must be settled in 12 months

Agree0 Disagree0

Why make s*** up when you have only heard of the player because he destroyed us down the right last night for malaga

Agree0 Disagree0

Incorrect. The Premiership hasn't ratified the "payment in full in 12 months" rule; it remains an aspiration.

Agree0 Disagree1

The Holtby rumours could be on... he is a special player for Moyes and has been on Everton radar for more than 12 months... could be a great enfforcer

Believable16 Unbelievable3

Sky are saying 20 mil.

12 Aug 2012 13:05:04

Seems to be fee of 15 m straight cash deal no swap involving Adam Johnson {Ed042's Note - for Jack Rodwell..... (incase anyone didnt realise :P)

Believable11 Unbelievable1

I've heard it's £20m

Agree0 Disagree0

It is a cash fee, payable over 3 years and with specific clauses. Total fee of £15.5 million

Agree0 Disagree0

I wonder if Everton will refund all the Kids who got Rodwell on there shirts?

Agree1 Disagree0

It's written: undisclosed fee.

Agree0 Disagree0

With the money city have, get it all upfront and give it straight to Moyes to build a stronger squad ready for Europe next year

Agree1 Disagree0

This is the best Everton news so far. As good as Peanuts and Naysmith are in terms of value - £15 million for someone who has never ever showed us he was a match winner and in my belief therefore is nowhere near £8 mill - is just fantastic news.
More chance of 2 young lads with real potential - Barclay and the under mentioned Lundstrom, who could be the best of the bunch.
Now we need to offload Anichebe and take Moses and one other good young striker.
Champions League next year for certain.

Nick O

Believable8 Unbelievable0

12 Aug 2012 12:50:12
Confirmed on the Offical Everton Website and Twitter feed, bid accepted from Manchester City for Rodwell.
Two concerns:
1: It says undisclosed Fee. Why do Everton always do deals for undisclosed fees? It does my head in. I honestly believe its because, either, the board don't want us, the fans, to know how much there pilfering away or, it's not as much as we would all like to think, most of us would expect £15/20 Million, it's probably more likely to be £8/10 with money going to the bank to keep them happy. And
2: There's no mention of Johnson in the deal. I think we can only hope that as part of the deal we get AJ on a season long loan, he won't be coming in as part of the Rodwell deal, I.e Rodwell AND £15 Million as a few had joked about on here.
I really do hope it's good money for someone who, no doubt, has a bright future in the game.
Hopefully now we maybe able to move for someone like Holtby or that Isco, who by all accounts murdered us last night and has been linked to Arsenal foronly £8 Million due to Malaga's financial situation. (He's only 20 as well.) I guess it could also mean we now make a move for Cordoza of Benfica.
What do you think fellow blues and Ed?
Mickey Blue Eyes {Ed042's Note - I don't see Johnson being part of the deal, maybe if were lucky though!... I would personally just like a pacy right winger and then id be happy.

Believable12 Unbelievable4

Just to let you know mate. Clubs in Everton's position (lack of funds) regularly ask the club buying to keep the fee undisclosed because it hides what money we now have therefore when Moyes bid's for a player the player's team will have no idea how much money we have available so wont try and negotiate a over priced figure.

How much is Rodwell off for! Hope we held out for a good price! I'm not too fussed about losing him he never really reached his potential and we have plenty of cover in the position! Good luck at city rodders! {Ed042's Note - Possibly 15m

rodwell going to city 15 million maybe we could get johnson now.to be fair to the lad i will be sorry to see him go because weve not seen the best outta him mainly due to injuries being played outta position and moyes keeping faith with less talented but trusted individuals.in a more attacking type side and a regular place i think the lad will flourish. {Ed042's Note - I would like to see him play regularly at City, but he doesnt even play here much!

Believable10 Unbelievable0

As i said injuries and being played outta position didnt help him.remember moyes playing him out wide on the left at villa couple of seasons ago just to accomodate him in the team and he got carried off injured hes never been fully fit since then.he got crunched by the villa full back if he was playing in his preffered position that injury would probably not of happened

Agree with you completely Ed. players have to have an essential character/ will to win mentality. I guarantee that Bryan Robson and Peter Reid dominated games with their character at a very early stage of their careers. Rodwell, despite his athletic gifts never got near to dominating a game in the way quality midfielders do.

Reported fee for rodwell £15 m hope there is a swap deal seems cheap Gaza {Ed042's Note - Perhaps, but even when hes fit he doesnt play all the time especially with Osman, Fellaini and Gibson in central partnership (and cahill last year). 15m is a good deal i think.

So Man City are after Rodwell £15 +johnson its a deal. £5m to the bank. 10m to buy Holtby and rhodes would do me!
The Blue Spider

Believable11 Unbelievable7

That would be boss mate but 15 mil plus johnson thats 30 mil in total rodwell is not worth that much {Ed025's Note - i agree..

Agree0 Disagree0

We wouldn't pay the wages Johnson would demand and 10m would only buy one of Rhodes or Holtby, not both.
Seems like more papers trying to guess transfer targets though.
