NSNO site reporting tonight that Everton fc are already in talks with Ronald Koeman to take over at the club. he is their no.1 target. I would just point out that this site is not usually wrong and said last week that Bobby would be gone by the end of this week! This is great news if true!

Only if he brings his goal keeper!

Agree0 Disagree0

13 May 2016 05:44:14
Soli I would be happy with that but NSNO aren't the only ones who have being saying it everyone has been saying it after the last 4 games. I believe they will go for Jose or de boer as no contract to pay off from other club as far as I am aware.

Anyway good times.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 May 2016 01:14:52
I'd be surprised if the club have approached him directly, as he's under contract.
I'd imagine any contact would be via an Intermediary such as an agent.
I'm not saying we wouldn't be interested, but we'd surely need Southampton's permission to speak directly with him.
Even if there's no regulatory need to go via his current club, Everton have prided themselves on doing things honestly and above board.
However, I'm not sure how that worked with Moyes joining ManUtd - except, unlike Koeman, Moyes's contract didn't have a year still to run.
Perhaps Ed002 can shed some light on the rules - and the actual reality - of manager/ coach recruitment?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Ronald Koeman is contracted to Southampton and any formal approach would need to be via the club as permission is required to speak with Koeman himself. The first approach would be made through his representatives to see if there is interest - and Albers said this morning that there has been no approach made to any of his charges but did re-iterate that Frank de Boer would be interested in the Everton job.}

13 May 2016 10:32:29
Ed002: thanks as always for your informed and clear answer.

12 May 2016 23:01:04
you no my thoughts on nsno. they are so so reliable. they were the only ones who put thier cards on the table and said martinez will go by the norwich game as they are in close contact with everton ssn never reported it and nor did anyone else. well they are at it again and they are saying that everton are in talks with koeman they have allready contacted southamton. good times ahead me thinks.

Don't know why everyone is getting on the Koeman bandwagon, his record is patchy to say the least, 62 and 63 points in 2 seasons at saints is Moyes type, yes he us a good manager, but he won't take Everton any higher 6th, with money behind us finally we need a big, big name .

Agree3 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - hes my choice at the moment danny as he knows the league and has done well after losing a lot of good players, for me he is a better choice than de boer who has done well in holland but that is a 2 horse race and he finished second in that im sure some others will be considered but its important to get it right first time as we dont want another duffer mate..

13 May 2016 06:59:01
Ed025

Would 'we' make a cheeky offer to Jose, what do you think mate? only my curiosity mojo is going crazy right now ;)

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - it seems like he will go to utd 247, but moshiri is a friend of his and he has said he is open to a project so who knows?, it would certainly make people sit up and take notice mate..

13 May 2016 08:05:01
Don't know how anyone can make little of what Koeman has done at Southampton. With what he had to work with he done a fantastic job. Would be a very good appointment. Was a top player himself and no doubt would attract players to come to Everton.

Agree2 Disagree0

13 May 2016 08:35:07
Koeman is fast building his reputation as a really good manager, he would fit into our club perfectly.

Nice post mate, RK has broke his PL 'cherry' so to speak and looked good doing it!
Unlike someone who came to the PL with glowing reps. high hopes and big egos. travel down the East Lancs. and there lies an example of 'don't assume you know how to manage in the PL until you do it for real'

Agree1 Disagree0

13 May 2016 12:58:56
I think Moshiri should at least sound Jose out, I know it's wishful thinking, but an approach to him would at least show us fans that the new major shareholder means business .

Agree0 Disagree0

13 May 2016 14:35:48
I posted the other day about Koemans record in that dutch league two horse race ed25 and de boer wins it hands down.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - he does AL, but koeman has had a couple of years in the EPL under his belt and has done pretty well i feel, FDB is untried at this level now im not saying he cant cut it, but he would be a bit of a gamble mate..

12 May 2016 21:25:01
Evening ed. In your opinion who do you think we will get in as manager and who do you thinknow has the best chance of the job. Cheers mate.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - de boer is 2/7 favourite john which says a lot mate, koeman would be a good call but he will be in demand from others mate..

12 May 2016 21:54:38
And to be fair mate bookies very rarely get it wrong. I'd have de boer in a heart beat. I know it's a different league but out of his 187 games in charge of ajax he only lost 18. Good win ratio that mate.

Agree3 Disagree0

12 May 2016 22:54:20
According to NSNO Everton are in talks with Koeman.

Agree1 Disagree0

13 May 2016 01:36:58
Bookies don't care about being right or wrong. They set the odds according to the betting market and make sure that they make money in the long run.
A favourite is such because of the money actually punted on it - and if it wins then it costs the bookies.
If an outsider wins, then - by definition - only a few punters will win and the bookies will make a lot of money from the losing bets on the favourite.
Either way, the odds change when significant amounts of bets are placed by punters - often fuelled by rumours on social media - and not because bookies have a personal preference.
Bookies are not always right - since favourites lose and outsiders sometimes win (think of Leicester City! ) - but, unless a bookie is downright incompetent, he will always turn a profit by setting the odds carefully and mug punters (the majority! ) will usually lose.
Think of all the losing PL bets on ManCity, Chelsea, Arsenal, etc., and the handful of bets on Leicster City made at the beginning of the season.
No way do the winning bets on Leicester City (even at huge odds) come anyway near the stakes lost by punters betting on the "big" clubs.
Bookies love it when a favourite loses and a rank outsider wins.

Agree2 Disagree0

13 May 2016 09:03:12
Sids right. Another thing is that if it was well known we were in any type of advanced talks betting would be suspended ASAP. As sid said there in it to make money, you will never see a poor bookmaker.

I'm outside in me tuxedo, does anybody know what time the player of the year do starts?

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - they could,nt find one rod...so get yourself down to the blue house mate and drown your sorrows.. :)

12 May 2016 20:26:00
With Big Joe Royle and Unsy taking charge against Norwich does that mean maybe big Dunc is going too? Or is he just not upto standard?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - im not sure mate..

12 May 2016 20:49:14
Big Dunc has no managerial experience, so bringing in a veteran manager and our current U21 manager makes more sense. I know it's for one game but putting Ferguson in charge is a bit like when the barcodes put shearer in charge. being an icon doesn't make a manager.

Agree4 Disagree0

12 May 2016 19:55:21
The manager will be one of 3 and imo all good choices Frank De Boer, Ronald Koeman or Rudi Garcia. No one else under consideration.

Some intersting stuff on 'Twitter' Fired this morning?

Agree1 Disagree0

12 May 2016 13:07:15
actually correction to above, there is no training today so that is why no Martinez. As for betting being suspended on Martinez, Martinez has nothing to do with it, betting has been suspended simply because the season is at an end.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed023's Note - Or maybe punters have lumped on Martinez to be sacked.?}

12 May 2016 14:10:30
Hi there stophumpungmyleg - you seen the news in the last few mins? He's gone, been sacked just as I told you would happen a few days ago!

Agree0 Disagree0

12 May 2016 16:49:33

Lets hope we have someone lined up as any delay in finding our next manager will only cost us points at the start of next season.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

12 May 2016 11:29:33
Martinez was going after Norwich, but with things taking even worse turn, the rumours that he'll be gone before Norwich are true. As much as Kenwright wants the man in charge, the club feels there is no way he can turn up for the final home game of the season without unwanted fan reactions.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

12 May 2016 11:36:01
Bill and Roberto are both nice guys, it is time for decisions to be taken that are not nice! this is the way of big business and that includes football, which is driven by results, but now its time to act however painful!

12 May 2016 11:45:13

He said Martinez has gone, an announcement will be made after tonight's awards dinner and we will all be

Frank De Boer now favourite to take over as efc manager. he gets my support if he does - seems a very capable guy with an excellent back room behind him and a great aspiration of bringing on the young talents!

Believable2 Unbelievable1

12 May 2016 13:20:50
De bore has no club and wants us Martinez has a club that nobody wants him here anymore. Might be me being soft but it's easy to just get rid and start again.

Liverpool fan here. Hope Everton don't make the same mistake that we did, by keeping on Rodgers when he should have gone sooner. De Boer would be a very good appiontment IMO. He has very good record of bringing youngsters through and Everton have a long list of talanted younsgters in the u21s and 18s.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - not as far as i am aware ST..

12 May 2016 00:42:28
According to Dutch newspaper De Telegraff, Frank de Boer has left Ajax.

Believable5 Unbelievable0

12 May 2016 08:03:36
Now in UK papers. I'd take a punt on him. Senior players would play for him, junior players would look up to him. New players would sign for him. He's always been a leader of men. Yes only managed Ajax in a 2 horse race, but has had success.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - he is also interested in the job.}

12 May 2016 08:36:04
Personally I think he's too much of a LVG clone.

Agree3 Disagree1

12 May 2016 10:05:03
Yeah because LVG has had a terrible managerial career!

Before Man Ure we would have been chuffed to get LVG so if De Boer is anything like thn bring him in.

Make the second kit orange - total football.

Agree0 Disagree3

12 May 2016 10:07:32
Funny enough blue I read a article about his tactics and they quote Cruyff and LVG being the two driving influences in his style and tactics.

12 May 2016 12:01:58
Thanks for the info on looking at De Boers tactical philosophy, very interesting.
It looks good but a big gamble to get a manager who has only managed in a third rate league that Steve Mclarren was able to win but he could not cut it in the prem.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 May 2016 00:26:31
showing Roberto Martinez as 8/1 to be the next permanent Everton manager? Weird. Do they know something we don't ha!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

12 May 2016 02:53:14
So for that 8/ 1 Everton would have to sack Martinez, then reinstate the guy to be the next Everton manager, are you sure its not to be in charge of Everton next season, otherwise be near impossible for Martinez to be the next manager.

Agree2 Disagree0

12 May 2016 08:07:08
Unbelievably so but Martinez has managed at Wigan and Everton to have both boards accepting that his mediocrity is acceptable and no matter his failures (of course never his fault) he is a young up and coming coach who everyone admires. If this man remains in charge I genuinely believe 100 percent he will relegate us. The man is to arrogant to walk, the board needs to grab whatever balls they have left and do what is best for this football Club, it is no romance anymore Bill, time for your business head.

Agree1 Disagree0

12 May 2016 12:05:32
RB has the gift of the gab which fools most people including Bill Kenwright so he gets away with being a bad manager. He did fool many Evertonians till recently but he seems to still be fooling Kenwright, hopefully Moshiri will put us out of our misery soon.
