Hi ed, what are all these people saying. Let us get V. Moses or Christian Atsu or other wingers we have sufficient. We have Baines as WB and Peanuts, Oviedo and in a push on the right we could use Coleman and even SuperKev. In my estimation we are well covered there. I believe we need another CB which Alderwereild would cover. Another CM possibly McCarthy [overpriced in my estimation, no more than 9m] and offload a striker and bring in a new one, e.g. Shane Long who would be more reasonably priced who is good with the head, we really have never replaced Tim Cahill for his headed goals. What are your thoughts. {Ed025's Note - moses can play CF emerald, i think thats what they mean mate..

Believable4 Unbelievable4

I agree. if we are going to play wing backs ie Coleman and Baines what the rush to sign another winger (i appreciate we may want to change the system from time to time) when the budget is obviously limited. I think we still need CM and a CH who is comfortable on the ball.my worry is Johnny is going to stay and then go on a free when we really need to get some cash for him now.

i was concerned with how long it took martinez to make changes against betis.im afraid osman isn't good enough anymore, we need to get fresh legs in midfield barkley showed good signs at times but needs to know when to pass the ball.i think mirallas is the only exciting player we have, I think baines and felli will stay.why don't we go and get diame because we need a box to box midfielder.i am hoping we can have a good season and I hope victor stays on the bench every game.please Rmdont pick him.

Believable3 Unbelievable7

Think that's out of order, Victor had a great season last year and should be encouraged to push on, he finally looked like a Prem striker. Scored some great individual goals and work hard for the team. i'd rather we hadn't thrown £5M away on Kone who is clearly not good enough. already being told he has to fight for his place in the team? RM just gave Whelan £5M. got excited with a bit of money in is pocket. How could we pay that for effectively a Championship player at best and Remy goes to Newcastle on loan?? shocking. Face it blues we are going to struggle under this manager. Said it before the appointment and sticking by my opinion. He got his last club relegated after years of trying and we have given him the keys to our club now. The defense is all over the shop, and still can someone explain to me his exciting "brand" of football? Looks shocking to me from what I have seen so far. I just hope BK will have the bottle to get rid before its too late and try and limit the damage.

Agree3 Disagree4

It was a friendly. Stop getting worked up.

Agree2 Disagree1

Jesus, first commenter. You started well then just went on this mad hate spiral. I'm guessing the only game you've seen Is the betis one, then? Because you would be very impressed if you watched most of the others. And Kone has been fasting for Ramadan, of course he's going to have struggled. give him some time.

Hey, since when has David James ever been considered credible:

As a keeper? Nope!

As a fashion icon? Nope!
.
As a respected premier league pundit? Enough said!

Mart

Believable12 Unbelievable3

He's a renown artist as well you know.

Not a rumour, but that Dodgy Keeper David James has just predicted we will finish 16th next season . Cheeky T**t I predicting a good season for EFC IMWT

Believable8 Unbelievable5

16th and a f a cup do me

Agree0 Disagree2

Old Calamity James, possibly the most over rated keeper that there has ever been. Ignore the drivel. (Wavertree Blue)

Agree1 Disagree0

What a loser. Worst England keeper in history. person.

Agree1 Disagree0

Could be about right lads, its not going to be pretty. Defending I shocking and already concerned by a lack of tactical nous. playing a high line against Real Madrid? that's a great idea with Ronaldo playing one of the quickest forwards in football. What will the next gem be? Buying a sub standard striker for too much money? oh sorry already done that. Playing Alcaraz in midfield? oh sorry he's injured as he was for the whole of last season and so has basically missed the whole of pre-season.amazing style of football. What a joke. Would rather have given the job to Phil Neville!

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry, David who, what was his last club, you don't get a name like calamity for nothing.

Agree1 Disagree0

Appointed a manager with a shocking record of having no tactical sense, signed players from a relegated club and have looked poor in preseason. would 4th have been a more appropriate prediction. don't think so

Agree0 Disagree0

Hes still reeling from when we basically ended his modeling career, get over it david

Thoughts on what David James said ed? That we will finish 16th, we are being underestimated even more than ever {Ed025's Note - if he did say that...then he is a prat!..

Believable7 Unbelievable1

He actually did. The tactics worry me this season though and lack of depth in midfield, would you expect another cm without sales

My blue friend at work also works at the weekend at Dunham Massey and fellaini and his agent came in for food. When asked if he was leaving he said he is happy to stay but doesn't know if he will. The same person was in a box on Sunday when bill showed his face, he said there would probably be no more signings and didn't know if anybody would leave. So, what can you read into this, first of all even the player who apparently wants to leave actually is happy and knows nothing about leaving as does the chairman. Secondly, we probably won't sign any more players unless somebody does leave. Personally i'm happy with this as the squad looks stronger than it has done for years, the only thing I worry about is night's tactics.

Believable2 Unbelievable6

Valid points mate, but stronger than it has for years? Same squad as last year and you cannot tell me that Kone, Alcaraz and the young lad from Barcelona suddenly make it stronger? i'd agree the tactics are shocking and got Wigan relegated so who knows what's going to happen. The times of Mike Walker spring to mind instantly

Hope no one is taking notice of the SOS quote they spoke to BK after the Betis game and he said there is no more money! Like he'd just tell anyone that. Teams have already confirmed we've bid 13.5mil for Mcarthy, and 5mil for the Dutch CB(Soz lazy of me to not look how to spell his name), that's 18.5 mil floating about for a start.

Believable1 Unbelievable8

He's Belgian.

Agree1 Disagree0

Teams have never confirmed that.

Agree2 Disagree0

Or that 5 was out of the 13.5, if it even existed

Agree1 Disagree0

Of course they were confirmed, Wigan turned the bid down, so that's confirmation, and Martinez himself has said a bid has been made but until the club accepts it, he can't talk to the player(the 5mil bid for dutch CB, which has been gazumped by Spartak) so that is confirmation.

Agree0 Disagree1

And Wigan have confirmed no-one (including Everton) has made a bid for McCarthy.

Agree2 Disagree0

HOW MUCH FOR MCCARTHY?? Unreal.if we pay that that's £18.5M we have just handed to Whelan not mention the comp. for the manager. What is going on? There are other clubs that we can look to buy players from RM and BK! They all don't have to have played for Wigan before, just so you know!

Agree0 Disagree0

And for Alderweireld, the only confirmation about everton is we shown an interest, not that we bid for him.

Agree1 Disagree0

14 Aug 2013 10:43:51
There's been no confirmation off anyone regarding Everton bids, take your head out of the sand. The closest you'll get is Alderweireld's agent saying Everton are/were 'interested'. Now, in case you didn't know this, it's an agent's job to find his client a club, so he just might've been using Everton!s name to create interest from other clubs.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Aug 2013 17:25:34
we must have money to spend because we bidded 8 mil for moses and 13.5 mil for mcarthy so there is money to spend. I would like to see alderwiereld come in with heitinga going the other way and mcarthy. I don't think we will have to sell and I really do not want baines to leave he is twice more important than fellaini

Believable2 Unbelievable5

We didn't bid 8 million for Moses we wanted a season long loan with view to permanent move Chelsea values him at 8 million and preferred a permanent transfer

Agree1 Disagree0

Again, unless I am mistaken there are plenty of players about that currently don't, or haven't previously played for Wigan.

Ed do you know if there is any truth behind the Josh Brillante rumour?.Would be a good one for the future. {Ed025's Note - not as i am aware paul..

So various media outlets are saying that Felli's buy-out clause has now expired and we have said he has a price tag of £30m.

In all honesty I cannot see any of the clubs mentioned so far (Chelski, Arse or Man Utd) being interested and I think that he will stay until at least January.

The major worry is that LB will be swayed by Moyse and join Manchester United either just before the season starts or ust before the deadline. Much as I have been impressed with Oviedo I think Peanuts will become less influencial (much like when he cut his dreds).

NorfolkBlue

Believable3 Unbelievable3

I reckon all of our problems stem from Peanuts cutting his dreads.

Rich84 {Ed025's Note - we have 4 rich, i feel one would have to be shipped out before we get another one mate..

Believable2 Unbelievable1

He said top striker Ed {Ed025's Note - i suppose moses would be a possibility on loan, but only if chelsea get a player in..

I know we have 4, but we need what we have been missing for a very long time, a striker who can score 20+, cheers Ed mate

Got a mate who sorts the swimming pool at Carrington,
and he said Baines was there today. I did not believe him
until it said on tv that him, Jags and the Man U players who played on Sunday don't join the England squad until later on today. Sorry just what he said.

Believable2 Unbelievable8

Hopefully he was just traveling down from there with the Manc players

Agree0 Disagree1

Well that's just not true, Baines, Jagielka and Barkley all travelled down to St George's park together to report for England duty.

The Center of midfield looks dreadful at the moment but I think that all other areas of the field look quite promising.
To improve the midfield,
Out:
Fellaini 25m
Heitinga4m
In:
erikson and Alderwiereld 18m
Marrone or jorginho 7m
Moses 10m

With about 8m left in the bank to cover the rest of the transfers plus agent fees. What do you think ed? {Ed025's Note - that would do for me lee..

Believable5 Unbelievable4

So:

Out = £29 million
In = £35 million
= -£4 million

Where is the £8 million left coming from?

Agree1 Disagree0

It's actually minus £6m Dodo.

Agree2 Disagree0

I'm assuming that we had a bit of money to spend given that we sold finch farm for 13.5m and that we bid up to 13 for negredo in the winter but didn't end up spending it. I'd hope that at least eight months couldgo towards transfers .

Agree1 Disagree0

We didn't sell FF because we didn't own if. I can't believe how dense some people are. And we didn't have money in January that's why there were no signings.

Agree0 Disagree0

Another post by someone playing too much Football Manager. Ericsson would only go to a Champions League team and his wage demands would be double what we could offer. If Fellaini goes we'll get McCarthy . And that's the only likely transfer action left. As long as we keep Baines we'll be ok.

Agree0 Disagree0

To the person who said that we had no money in january, fer came all the way to merseyside for a medical before we realized that there was an issue. We had at least 8 mil then.

Agree1 Disagree0

14 Aug 2013 10:40:02
We had no money in January. This is why we didn't sign anyone apart from young Stones, whose fee was nominal with potentially some not insignificant add ons. The Fer deal was dependent on Heitinga leaving but Everton miscalculated the amount of time left on his contract believing he had 12 months more than he did so were relying on a higher fee.
I'm not going to get into how I know this but suffice it to say it was someone at the club in a senior position.

Will people wake up with all this "please don't sell fellani". He got to be one of the worst passers of a ball I have ever seen from a premiership player. Should also score a lot more goals when playing up top but we suffer in 2 ways because he got a head like a sponge and we only able to play one striker. He wants to play champions league football HA. Don't make me laugh, try putting a decent run of games together first WITHOUT getting booked cus in the champions league you wouldn't play that much through suspension. I'd snap any clubs arm off right now for 10-15 million

Believable5 Unbelievable11

Clearly redrubbish, if not you are clueless and have no idea about football fact!

Agree2 Disagree0

I think if he went it would be for twice that

Agree1 Disagree0

Nonsense. I'm not his biggest fan but he's worth at least £20m and is world class when he's in the mood. And a 12 goal return isn't too shabby either. Back to your own site and ask the nurse to increase those meds.

Agree2 Disagree0

Am I the only one who thinks calum mc mannaman is a better propect. tom efc.

Agree1 Disagree1

If he went, he could be replaced, but 10-15 mill? How old are you, 12?

Agree1 Disagree0

10-15 mil are you serious?.You're either a Manc or a Red.Go away you clown!.

Agree1 Disagree0

Erm, Callum McManaman is a wide player, Fellaini is a central midfield player. No comparison whatsoever.

Agree0 Disagree0

We bought Fellaini for £15million, seeing as he's a better play now, he won't be sold for the same price or less.

Ed who would you like to see join? {Ed025's Note - i would like Mcarthy, and diame..

Believable7 Unbelievable2

Agreed, I would like McCarthy and Diame/Jorginho. Moses would be good and Alderweireld (I would imagine this to only occur if we sold Fellaini and one other; preferably Heitinga and not Baines)
sc

Agree0 Disagree0

Possible Diame is good pair with Gibbo. Siggurson is the one should stay behind Jelly. TA. is good CB.

Howard, Coleman, Bainsey, Jags, TA., Gibbo, Diame, Kev, Peanut, Gylfi, Jelly

Cannot wait to see this line up.

Agree0 Disagree0

Diame plus Honda sounds better to me Ed. Both still a pssibility?
And I still hope that Phillip Hosiner from Austria Vienna will come our way. Proven goalscorer and link up player.
Degsypulford {Ed025's Note - i could live with that degs..

Agree0 Disagree0

Howard, Baines, Coleman, Distin, Jags,
McCarthy, Xavi Torres, Mirallas, Pienaar, Eirksen, Jelavic. Would you be pleased to see that Ed? {Ed025's Note - i would mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Aug 2013 12:24:55
Everton must have money to spend as everton had a 8.6 million deal for Leroy Fer in jan but that fell through and we made a 13.5 milli bid for mccarthy

Believable7 Unbelievable2

Doesn't mean we have money if we have made bids

Agree0 Disagree0

I think the fer was provisional to Fellini departing, which never happened

Agree0 Disagree0

We offerd 1 mill up front for fer

Agree0 Disagree0

We have to sell to buy . And make profits to keep the banks at bay. This should not be a news flash folks . We have NO MONEY! {Ed025's Note - and how exactly do you know this?...are you involved in the clubs finance strategy?..i expect the answer is no...so keep your whingeing to yourself..

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Aug 2013 12:21:54
If we truly have no money left, then unfortunately now would be the best time to depart with our big asset (feli) I would rather add around him, but if we are skint, selling fellaini could bring a CB and 2 CM's. Marrone -8m Xavi Torres-4m Diame-3.5 Alderwield or Rolando 5m. What do you think Ed? We could cetainly pass the ball around better, and still have physical presence in Dianme. The only problem is, could we afford the wages? {Ed025's Note - its not just wages mate, agents fees as well..

Believable0 Unbelievable3

I would prefer to keep Fellaini than any of the players you have mentioned.

Agree0 Disagree0

I meant all of the players mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Aug 2013 12:01:05
The lack of transfer activity has been a choice and as for the decleration of 'no money', it keeps any reported interest in real targets more secure from other teams gazumping us. The other deals were obvious, there was not much threat in losing them to other teams. Further more the market changes as the end nears, RM is watching the market at the moment. The fact is, we have to buy if we are to play in RM'sformation and style. We will need a better quality CB to play with distin and Jagielka. We also need 1 ideally 2 CM's. Aswell as more wuality and numbers we need players with more technical ability. I believe we will add, and that we have a very good chance of keeping feli and Baines. However, if we do not add further, I fear we will go backwards, for this season atleast.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

13 Aug 2013 12:53:29
I was at the real betis game, we have the players with technical quality, what we lacked was a biting edge. Four, three, three requires the front players to cover more ground and do their share of closing the opposition down. They did little of this, hence Betis could have easily put four or six past us say for Howard's excellent performance. It was poor to see no new signings in the starting lineup. This reflects the board's total inability to reverse the financial fortunes of the club. RM has to realise he will need to adapt his style while heevolves the team or we will suffer.

Agree0 Disagree0

We definately need a couple of CM's!

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Aug 2013 11:30:16
Even if we do not have any cash why are we not looking in the market for loan signings, vydra today has just signed for west brom on a season long loan why does Everton never pick up on things like this you don't need all the money In the world to get players. I can't see any more players coming in unless we sell in my opinion and that is worrying when all the teams around us is spending big money

Believable5 Unbelievable1

Vydra's loan cost £1million for the season - I know this is going to sound incredibly stingy, but would you really want to pay that for a striker who is only proven in the second tier, and is clearly not wanted at the moment by a side at a similar level to us in Serie A? Not saying it would be a bad signing, but I for one would rather have Jelavic and probably Kone over him.

Agree1 Disagree0

How many more strikers do you want?

Agree0 Disagree0

The players available on loan are generally either a big risk, one that other clubs want developing but could add something useful or ones that aren't good enough.

Vydra is either the first or last depending on your viewpoint, deulofeu is the middle option.

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't really see the point in getting in another striker like Vydra, would rather have Jelavic and Kone over him, and even Anichebe showed he can do a job for us when needed.

Bobby is not doubt looking at options to improve the squad, and loan moves are probably our best bet right now. However the fact is, loans typically do happen towards the end of the window, when clubs realise they have players that aren't required, and thus can be moved on, or players that can't be sold, and the clubs will look to loan them.

I reckon we will bring in 1, maybe even 2 more loanees, I still think Moses will be looked at, but right now Chelsea are looking to sell him, but there are no takers, and towards the end of the window, I am sure they will accept a loan deal for him to get him off their wage budget.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Aug 2013 11:23:09
If it's true about having no money left Then spending all of our budget on kone is a joke. Dilefc

Believable9 Unbelievable8

You can really say 6mil is a budget mate, RM probably thought he mad more money to spend then liar bill and changed his mind

Agree0 Disagree0

Spending 6 million on Kone is a joke even if its all the budget or not.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Aug 2013 10:45:17
It's usually about now, international breaks, that felli gets 'mis-interrupted' during press conferences about transfers, it will be interesting to see what happens! RM may even shake the tree, I hope not either way but can't help the synic in me!

L4 4EL {Ed025's Note - you, a cynic??...no...more manic depressive..

I see samuel eto'o maybe up for grabs. Worth it for a season or two imo if he would take a pay cut. he's proven goal machine. {Ed025's Note - that would not be a wage cut, thats a wage dismembering mate...hes on mega bucks..

Believable1 Unbelievable6

No wonder my blues are so frustrated, crap shouts like this disillusion us. Eto is and never would b a target, thank god! His wage packet makes footy players jealous lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hes on 300k a week so maybe if he takes a 90% wage cut which isn't going to happen

Agree0 Disagree0

Hes on around about a pound per second we can't afford that!

Agree0 Disagree0

That's why we need new owners fast before the club fades

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Aug 2013 09:12:03
We must have dough to spend"we bid £13.5mill for macarthy a few weeks back!

It would only happen if a Fellaini deal was signed off . Same as with Leroy Fer. No sell = no buy.

Agree0 Disagree0

Kenwright has come out and said there is no money for signing. that's it end of

Agree0 Disagree0

I think everyone is being well negative, and I understand but, I genuinely believe we have cash! And you really think we bid 13 million for Mccarthy. don't believe everything you read mate

We will buy McCarthy for about half of what we sell Fellaini for. The rest will keep the banks at bay. {Ed025's Note - guessing!..
