I see your point ed, but playing mcgeady gave us the opportunity to change things if it didn't go to plan by bringing Mirrallas on. And West Ham couldn't handle him at all. Shame he wasn't brought on before mcgeady was sent off. Taking besic off was the right decision too in my eyes. As class as he is and one of the best tonight, he's very energetic and tries to be everywhere at once, with 11 men on the pitch this is a good trait, but 10 v 11 the you don't wanna concede by leaving gaps. By keep Barry on, he's able to sit and provide an anchor in midfield and allow our more creative players who came on to go out and get the equaliser without leaving us to exposed. Don't wanna sound a snob just my take on it
{Ed025's Note - and they are very fair points tron, it just seems to me that the fraud has his favourites, and they play whatever their form is like..i just dont want the likes of besic losing heart as he seems to be the scapegoat all the time mate..
Besic is still young ed, on the point about Mcgeady I just feel Martinez has a lot of faith in him, ed you seen my posts over the last few weeks mate I was one of the biggest doom and gloomers on here but I feel Martinez is starting to listen now and change our play a bit. I think he is winning the players around again and maybe just maybe this is the turning point I'd say give him a few more games before we get rid and that is big coming from me considering I wanted him gone just 10 days ago Coyb.
{Ed025's Note - one reason to sack him would be having faith in mcgeady stef!... and as far as i am aware it is the players who have changed the system mate, much to the annoyance of the manager, but i still want us to stick with him as i think we will turn it around and i dont want us to become a fickle club like some..
Well you said it there Ed you think he will turn it around, so do I based on what I have seen from the lads over the last 3 games.Come Monday night we start our season bit late I know but I feel we are ok now, I predict we will finish 8th and have very good Europa league run hopefully win it.

Ed. Was asking same 2 questions all through game. We played better with 10 men than with mcgeady in team. Besic must wonder what he has to do to get a full 90 minutes. i'm a cabby and I will drive mcgeady back to moscowfor free.

Totally agree with Ed025 on McGeady and Barry. The Team did play well, but how is it that we have to wait 20 games before Roberto allows the Team to play a more flowing direct style that complements and not hinders the majority of our players skills and that applies to this game also. If he reverts back to his ticky tacky anywhere but forward style again after seeing this game, well!!!!!

exactly what I've been thinking bombay, a besic, barkley partnership there may actually help us, it may re invigorate barkleys performances too, which of late have been dire due to being stuck on the left wing. I said it before he could like gerrard did in his earlier carrer take games by the scruff of the neck and start our attacking play from our own half, allowing us the imputus to attack as a unit. Besic is so underrated, not only is he tenatious in the tackle, but his ball playing skills are good too.

There are better pub team players than Calum mcmanaman, 5m, they're having a laugh. There's a reason he was released as a youngster, and that reason is he's rubbish
He ain't rubbish,good direct winger.maybe not good enough for us and I'm sure he was let go for poor attitude and workrate.
