I have a friend who works at the club. He says serge gnabry is in talks over a season long loan from arsenal. He has choice of us or another unknown premier league club.

Sorry sorry we are loaning from arsenal? Is that as if to say 'we are not worried about everton'? How insulting, we should either tell them to do one, offer duffy on loan because not only is gnabry not that good, we don't need him and I thought wenger doesn't like the loan system? If we loan him in we will know for sure there is no money at the club, that's like city loaning chelsea jovetic or real madrid loaning barca isco, or even better, liverpool loaning arsenal sterling, if we are that desperate that we have to feed off scraps from a team that finished one place above us then bill must be in vegas getting lap dances from anyone he wants, tight git

Agree1 Disagree4

The other club is Southampton.

I can't see the benefit for Arsenal as I don't think he would play as much vs him going to The Saints, but who cares what benefit they get. If we get cover for the squad, a different type of player that can compliment, and for free. Then it's good business. Also, How do you know he is not negotiating a loan to buy? which is an even more commercially savvy way to look at a youngster over a longer period before you splash the cash.

Is it true the reds have bid for lukaku ed? Surely lose out with them having champions league, hope they haven't

Believable2 Unbelievable8

{Ed025's Note - they are testing the water mikey, but nothing official yet mate..

I doubt mourinho would sell to them, as it is a direct rival, yes he sold mata to man u but knew moyes would play him out of position, unfortunately, he isn't there anymore and I don't think mourinho expected them to sack him so soon, I doubt liverpool want lukaku and I doubt mourinho would sell to liverpool, thankfully nosferatu has gone (not shelvey) so they undoubtably need a new striker, bony not only suites their style more, but would be cheaper as swansea are not a rival and rodgers is likely close to swansea still, so that makes more sense, they got moses on loan just so we didn't get him, i'm sure rodgers isn't foolish enough to spend over 25m on a player just so we don't get him

Agree2 Disagree2

We are in discussion at the minute to buy outright but Chelsea want a loan deal & we dont. Tuesday

Hearing besic is to be confirmed later on today along with Galloway, probably going to sign a striker, a winger, and maybe a loan(lacina). Hopefully we make a big signing because Martinez has been pretty conserved with how much he has spent so far:
Barry 2mil
Besic 2.5mil with add ons
Galloway 4mil

Believable11 Unbelievable13

We have been given permission to talk to Gnabri (?) from Arsenal about a season long loan, as have Southampton

Agree1 Disagree3

Martinez has been pretty clear that he's looking for 6-7 signings (including promotions from youth team) so we can compete in Europe and the league at same time. these signings make a lot of sense in this context. The big name signing will surely come but these sorts of deals take time

Agree0 Disagree0

Their is rummours gibson off to burnley for 3.5 mil I would take that and get diame in what about uses

Agree0 Disagree2

13 Jul 2014 17:17:41
If something happens to barry, we have no one to play the role of sitting infront of the back four, mccartht could do it but then we lose his legs, with gibbo, we have 2 players that play the barry role, gaz himself and gibbo, we don't need anymore runners, we have enough in mccarthy and barkley, diame is good, but he is not needed

Agree1 Disagree0

Yeh but were meant to be getting Muhamed Besic who is dm aswell

Agree0 Disagree0

Oooooh I hope so. RM said that new players will arrive after their WC ended. EFC are back at training already, so its going to be 2 to 3 weeks before any new ex WC player could join if they exited during the QF/SF. I want EFC to purr from the start just like my Super Charged 5.0L sports car and not to have an oil leak at the start of the season.

It's later on today and. ?

Yes so what's the point in swapping one 26 year old midfielder for another, at the exact same price? Why go through the hasstle? Just keep gibbo and get a striker in, no point in messing around with a player that is greedy and shows no loyalty, no point in wasting time swapping the exact same players around, just gibbos a nicer lad, don't bother

Where does the £4m for Galloway come from?
Surely at his age it would be a compensation package decided by a tribunal.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed025's Note - you would think so mike..

When Gibbo plays he's been fantastic for us,he controls the pace of the games.if he is to go 3.5 mil is an insult, let's not forgot we got 5 or 6 for anichebe.

Agree1 Disagree0

Gibbo injury prone though

Hi ed, could you or someone else on here explain to MD how work permits work? And why are some people able to obtain them with relative ease and others won't be granted? Thank in advance to all that help. COYB

Believable2 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - The situation with work permits is that a player will be granted one if (a) he has played 75% of games at full international level for two years for a country ranked reasonably high up by FIFA (top 75), or (b) if an exemption is applied for and granted under the "exceptional talent" provisions. For example, if a case is made to the authorities that a young South American is a demonstrable talent and clearly one for the future, it should be reasonably easy to have an exemption granted. If however, a pretty much run of the mill or average player was being bought and it was clear they are not appreciably better than those which could be found locally, or are being bought because they are cheap, then it will be much more difficult to obtain a work permit. The downside of the system in the UK is that the "bigger" English clubs can cherry pick the decent talent available and can obtain exemptions, and the rest of the players are assumed not to be talented enough for an exemption (as Chelsea or Manchester United etc. don't want them) and therefore obtaining the exemption is much tougher. Some players can obtain work permits through their parents or grand parents being English.}

Ahh okay I get you now! Thanks ed!

Apparently RS going to bid 26 mil for Lukaku, Not signing Rom would be bad enough but to see him sign for them would be my worst nightmare.

Believable6 Unbelievable14

13 Jul 2014 07:00:04
If they go for Rom, we'll go back for Bony. If they go for bony, we'll go back to Rom. It seems like the press (or Liverpool themselves, if they're true) like looking at who we're after and linking liverpool with them because it'll prompt a response, anyway. Neither player remotely suits their style, it's just because we want them.

Agree1 Disagree0

Load of tosh, liverpool are after bony abd will get him I believe, with bony, lambert, sturridge why would they wsnt kukaku as well

The deal for lukaku is almost done

Agree1 Disagree2

I think that sounds like a Chelsea insider or perhaps an agent stirring up non-existent interest from the RS in order to force Bobby's hand.

Agree1 Disagree0

I hope so I'd like to see Lukaku pulling on the blue shirt again next season.

Hearing now that besic won't be announced till Monday so we will have to be patient for now. Really hope we get this done as he looks a great player for a great value.
