Gueye rumours to Arsenal and Barkley to Spurs, press trying to upset the team as usual when we are doing well 😳.

To be honest JCW I hope we come out early and say that none of them are for sale. We don't want another transfer saga like last summer.

{Ed002's Note - So you don't think Everton should buy any players then?}

ED There is nothing wrong with issuing a statement that some of our players are integral to the side and are therefore not for sale. Any team can put a bid in for any player issuing a statement just sets expectations for all parties. Nothing wrong with that. Alternatively we could just ignore the press, I tend to as they are not very reliable at best and totally full of it at worst. I don't see the logic in your comment ED?

{Ed002's Note - If Everton were not to sell players then they won't be buying any either. It is very simple, there is a restriction on the size of teh squad. It is a very naive view that you have.}

i think the point being made was that none of our more important players are for sale.
The likes of McCarthy, Besic, Jagielka, Mori may well leave. Valencia will doubtless be released. So clearly there will be a need for more players to boost what is already a small squad, particularly with Europe looming.

Imagine if the club came out and released statements about press rumours. Place would be a circus! If a bid came in for for either Gueye or Barkley I am sure the club would say "not for sale".

Every player has their price. If a very high offer came in for any of our players and the management thought they could replace that player with a lower cost alternative but equal in talent that would happen providing the player wanted to leave. I suspect some of our first team squad realize that playing on a regular basis is better than sitting on some other team's bench.

Spot on Southern about Everton doing well, it's always the same when games against Utd and the dark side are coming up. Whenever we look to be challenging, the media always have to link our players away.
